Dunleavy did not appear to be overly optimistic in regards to the 8-to-10 week timetable the team handed down last week, Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago reports.

Dunleavy underwent a back procedure recently and the team is expecting him to miss 8-to-10 months. Or at least that's what the Bulls told the media in a press release Friday. Dunleavy, himself, seemed to intimate that his recovery could extend further into the regular season, so at this point he becomes an even riskier fantasy commodity. In his absence, Tony Snell, Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott all could see bumps in value with McDermott having arguably the most to gain.

Dunleavy underwent a lower-back procedure Friday and is expected to miss 8-to-10 weeks.

Dunleavy had been dealing with back discomfort throughout the offseason, and according to Friday's report, the pain worsened in recent weeks. As such, Dunleavy underwent a "microdiscectomy" procedure after trying several more conservative remedies. Dunleavy's recovery will keep him sidelined throughout camp, and he projects to miss roughly the first month of the season. In his absence, Tony Snell and Nikola Mirotic figure to be the primary beneficiaries, from a playing time standpoint.

While his minutes decreased from 32 the previous season to 29 in 2014-15, the 13-year vet appears set to remain part of the Bulls' rotation for another three campaigns.

Dunleavy played in 63 games for the Bulls this season and averaged 9.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 three-pointers a game.

Dunleavy continued to shoot well from behind the arc, but he averaged less than 10 points a game for the first time since the 2009-10 season. He enters the summer as a free agent and might not be back with the Bulls next year as they don't have a ton of cap space. The Bulls also have Doug McDermott waiting in the wings and he seems to fit a similar mold that Dunleavy does. It wouldn't be shocking to see Dunleavy change teams next season, but he should continue to be a solid source for three-pointers regardless of where he plays.

Dunleavy posted 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists in 37 minutes of action in Game 5's loss to the Cavaliers.

Dunleavy hit a pair of big threes to help the Bulls maintain momentum, but ultimately couldn't help lead the team to a victory. He's had a relatively inconsistent series, trading strong performances with weak ones, and so the Bulls will need him to come up strong in Game 6 to tie the series up.

Dunleavy had his worst game of the series Sunday in a Game 4 loss to the Cavs, scoring just four points (1-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go along with two rebounds, one assist and two steals in 33 minutes.

Dunleavy had been playing well in this series, shooting 50 percent or better in the first three games. He's scored 14 or more points twice in this series as well and is shooting 43.8 percent from three.

Dunleavy will not be suspended for his foul on Giannis Antetokounmpo, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports.

The chances of a suspension were likely slim, but it's still something that had to be confirmed. The Bulls should be full strength as they take on the Cavaliers.

Dunleavy has averaged 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 three-pointers in the first two games of the playoffs for the Bulls.

Dunleavy is seeing plenty of playing time as he has averaged 34 minutes a game in the playoffs so far. His shooting from behind the arc and ability to rebound make him an important part of the Bulls rotation.

Dunleavy had 24 points (8-12 FG, 4-6 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 33 minutes against the Cavaliers on Sunday.

This marks Dunleavy's second highest point total of the year. On Nov. 7, he recorded his season-high 27 points. Don't count on this kind of production going forward, as Dunleavy is averaging 9.6 points over his last 10 games.
