F DeMarre Carroll underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Wednesday. It is uncertain when he will return.The procedure was performed by Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Carroll sat out Monday's game at Cleveland with a swollen right knee. He had played in the previous five games after missing nine contests with a right knee contusion. Carroll has averaged 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 31.9 minutes in 23 games this season.

F DeMarre Carroll missed his first game of the season Sunday. He has dealt with a foot injury for about 10 days, and Raptors coach Dwane Casey said it has affected his jumper and his defensive movement.

F DeMarre Carroll scored 21 points, 10 of them in a 4:12 span of the third quarter Friday. Carroll, who had 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists in Toronto's opening victory, was 4 of 7 from 3-point range and his third-quarter outburst helped his team turn a halftime tie into a 9-point lead.

Carroll put up 18 points (6-10 FG, 3-5 3PT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal in a 105-97 win over the Lakers on Thursday.

Carroll should see an almost identical role that he saw with the Hawks and that makes him relevant in almost every format. The only worry is that he'll have to play third-fiddle, behind the ball dominant-guards Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan. Look for Carroll to post a very similar line to his 12.6 point, 5.3 rebound, 1.7 assist, 1.3 steal averages from last season.

Carroll scored 15 points (5-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with three rebounds and five turnovers in 24 minutes during Monday's preseason loss to the Warriors.

Despite his big contract Carroll will be playing the same kind of complementary role in Toronto that he did in Atlanta, so don't expect him to improve much on last season's numbers.

Carroll signed a four-year, $60 million deal with the Raptors on Wednesday, CBS' Ken Berger reports.

One of the more intriguing free agents on the market, it was unclear where Carroll would end up after a great all-around season in Atlanta. The versatile swingman will join a Raptors team in need of wing depth, and he figures to immediately challenge Terrence Ross for the starting small forward role. It's possible Toronto could look to deal Ross - or perhaps even DeMar DeRozan - but for the time being the trio will likely split minutes at the 2 and 3 spots.

Carroll will likely be given the lion's share of credit for LeBron James' poor start (he missed his first 10 shots), but James missed a number of open opportunities.The Hawk small forward is clearly ailing, but is gritting his way through the knee injury. He has averaged 7.0 points in the three losses to Cleveland.

Carroll (knee) will play Sunday against the Cavs, Sam Amico of Fox Sports reports.

Carroll was able to give his team 34 minutes in Game 2; however, the injury he suffered in Game 1 was clearly still affecting him. His scoring and rebounding has been down in the first two games of this series, and daily players will likely want to avoid the banged up swingman Sunday.
