Sun Mar 20 202214:50Josh Richardson Will Play Sunday
San Antonio Spurs forward Josh Richardson (calf) will play Sunday versus the Golden State Warriors. He will return from a one-game absence and should slide right into the starting five. Doug McDermott (ankle) is sidelined for the rest of the season, so Richardson should continue to start the rest of the way. Joshua Primo played well in place of Richardson, but should return to the bench on Sunday. Richardson is worth a look in fantasy formats while being the starter.

Fri Mar 18 202220:10Josh Richardson Not Available For Friday
San Antonio Spurs forward Josh Richardson (calf) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The veteran forward was starting in place of Doug McDermott (ankle) who is done for the season. It'll be interesting to see who the Spurs decide to start without Richardson available. Lonnie Walker IV and Devin Vassell are expected to see a boost in value. Both could be possible low-end streaming options with the Spurs shorthanded.

Sat Feb 26 202215:33Josh Richardson Tagged As Questionable For Saturday
San Antonio Spurs forward Josh Richardson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Miami Heat. He made his team debut the last game before the All-Star break and played 14 minutes in that contest. However, Richardson could take on a heavier role with Keldon Johnson (back) already ruled out. Also, Joshua Primo (wrist) is tagged as questionable for this contest. The Spurs are shorthanded for this game, so Richardson could have decent streaming appeal on Saturday.

Mon Feb 14 202219:00Josh Richardson May Not Play On Monday
The two newest San Antonio Spurs, guards Josh Richardson and Romeo Langford, will be active for Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. However, it's unclear whether or not they will see the court during the game. According to Spurs beat writer Jeff Garcia, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said that the "new players won't play." Garcia also added that Popovich joked that he didn't know the players' names. It seems as if there's a good chance that Popovich is just pulling Garcia's leg and we at least see Richardson on Monday. However, it's not advisable to start Richardson or Langford in DFS for Monday's game.

Mon Feb 14 202215:20Josh Richardson Should Be Available On Monday
San Antonio Spurs forward Josh Richardson is not on the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls. He is expected to make his team debut after being traded at the deadline. It doesn't sound like the Spurs have any plans to take Devin Vassell out of the starting five. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned about Vassell losing fantasy value. It's uncertain how significant of a role Richardson is going to have in San Antonio.

Sat Feb 12 202214:51Josh Richardson Not Available For Saturday's Game
San Antonio Spurs forward Josh Richardson won't be available for Saturday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. He was traded to the Spurs at the trade deadline and has yet to make his team debut. Although, it's uncertain how significant of a role he'll have on this rebuilding roster. Devin Vassell has been playing well recently and isn't expected to lose minutes to Richardson. There doesn't seem to be much of a reason to believe that Richardson will have fantasy value in San Antonio.

Thu Feb 10 202214:08Josh Richardson Heading To San Antonio
Boston Celtics forward Josh Richardson has been traded to the San Antonio Spurs. They will also receive guard Romeo Langford and a first-round draft pick in exchange for guard Derrick White. Clearly, the Spurs decided that Dejounte Murray and White weren't the best long term solution. San Antonio has a bunch of young guards such as Lonnie Walker IV, Joshua Primo and Devin Vassell. Those three players should split up a majority of White's playing time. It's uncertain where Richardson fits into the picture right now. Fantasy managers should wait and see with Richardson. Langford had a few nice moments in Boston, but isn't expected to have much of a role in San Antonio right now.

Tue Dec 28 202117:57Josh Richardson Cleared For Wednesday's Game
Boston Celtics forward Josh Richardson has cleared health and safety protocols ahead of Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He has missed each of the four games while sitting out due to protocols. That being said, Richardson could be limited due to conditioning concerns during his first game back. Fantasy managers in season long formats can go ahead and move him back into their lineups for Wednesday. Richardson is likely to have an increased role with the Celtics shorthanded right now. He is certainly worth looking at as a streaming option in the short term.

Sun Dec 19 202109:07Josh Richardson Scores Season-High 27 Points Against Knicks
Boston Celtics shooting guard Josh Richardson made a lot of noise in Saturday's 114-107 win over the Knicks, shooting 9-for-14 from the field en route to a season-high 27 points. He went 5-for-7 with the three-ball and ended up leading the team in scoring while piling up five rebounds, four assists and three steals in 32 minutes off the bench. Richardson has now logged 30-plus minutes in three consecutive games and it's allowed him to contribute more on the offensive end. With a number of guys out, Richardson should be able to maintain his role for now, and he will start next week with a special matchup against Philadelphia.

Fri Nov 26 202113:57Josh Richardson Won't Play Friday
Boston Celtics forward Josh Richardson (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. He was already listed as doubtful coming into this game due to a non-COVID related illness. The organization is hopeful that Richardson can return for Sunday's contest. In the meantime, Romeo Langford and Aaron Nesmith will pick up additional playing time. However, both players are risky DFS options for Friday's slate.

Wed Nov 24 202118:37Robert Williams III, Josh Richardson Out On Wednesday
Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III (illness) and shooting guard Josh Richardson (illness) have both been ruled out for Wednesday's contest against Brooklyn due to non-COVID-19 illnesses. The positive for Williams is that his knee is not the root of his absence, an indicator that a return to action likely won't be far off. Williams returned to action Monday and snatched 15 rebounds in 23 minutes. Richardson will now have missed two straight contests with the illness, stunting the progress that he had been making among the team's second unit. Look for Grant Williams to slot into the starting five and become an upside DFS candidate, while Al Horford holds down the center spot.

Mon Nov 22 202119:06Josh Richardson Will Miss Monday’s Contest
Boston Celtics shooting guard Josh Richardson (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Rockets due to a non-COVID-19 illness. Richardson's absence marks his fourth this season, paving the way for Dennis Schroder to be the top scoring option within the second unit, while Romeo Langford could see some added run in his return to action. Richardson has settled into a bench role with Boston that has seen him play between roughly 26-30 minutes over the past two weeks, averaging 11 points per game in that span. His next chance to return to action comes Wednesday vs. Brooklyn.

Mon Nov 15 202113:52Al Horford, Josh Richardson Expected To Play Monday
Boston Celtics center Al Horford (back) and forward Josh Richardson (knee) are expected to play on Monday, according to head coach Ime Udoke. Both players were listed as probable on Sunday and are expected to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers here. Grant Williams should head back to the bench with Horford starting again. Richardson should be in line for significant playing time with Jaylen Brown (hamstring) still out. Fantasy managers should make sure Horford and Richardson are back in their lineups for Monday.

Sun Nov 14 202118:27Josh Richardson Expected Back On Monday Evening
Boston Celtics guard Josh Richardson (knee) is anticipated to play on Monday against the Cavaliers. The 28-year-old didn't suit up during the first of consecutive meetings against Cleveland on Saturday while dealing with right knee tendinopathy. However, it appears as if he needed just one game off to rest, so fantasy managers should expect to see him back on the floor, barring any setbacks. With Jaylen Brown (knee) out, Richardson is expected to take on a more prominent role and may continue to see an uptick in production until Brown is ready to make it back.

Sat Nov 13 202118:49Josh Richardson Won't Play On Saturday
Boston Celtics forward Josh Richardson (foot) will not suit up for Saturday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is a shame because Richardson was seeing a spike in usage with Jaylen Brown (hamstring) sidelined. However, Romeo Langford and Aaron Nesmith will now be asked to play more with both of them out on Saturday. Fantasy managers should only bother streaming either of them in deep leagues.

Sat Nov 6 202119:13Josh Richardson Returns To Action Saturday
Boston Celtics shooting guard Josh Richardson (foot) has been given the green light to get back into action Saturday against Dallas, where he played last season. Richardson missed Thursday's game due to a left foot contusion, but his return gives the Celtics another playmaker on the second unit. Romeo Langford and Dennis Schroder had considerable minutes allotments without Richardson in the mix, so how head coach Ime Udoka fits Richardson back into the rotation remains to be seen. The veteran has scuffled to find his scoring touch to begin the season, averaging just 6.7 points per game entering play Saturday.

Thu Nov 4 202119:07Josh Richardson Will Miss Thursday’s Game
Boston Celtics shooting guard Josh Richardson (foot) has been ruled out for Thursday's contest against Miami due to a left foot contusion. Richardson has scuffled as he acclimates to the Celtics' second unit in the early part of the season, having scored in double figures just twice. His 21.4 minutes per game average is far below his marks of previous years and is on pace to be his lowest since his rookie season in 2015-16. Without him in the second unit, look for Dennis Schroder and Romeo Langford to take on larger roles, but much of that may be negated by Miami's tenacious defense. Richardson's next chance to suit up comes Saturday against another of his former squads, Dallas.

Thu Nov 4 202115:20Josh Richardson Could Miss Thursday's Game
Boston Celtics forward Josh Richardson (foot) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Miami Heat. He is currently dealing with a left foot contusion, but hopefully this isn't a serious issue. The Celtics might decide to take the cautious approach here and rest Richardson in the second game of this back-to-back set. His absence would mean more minutes for Aaron Nesmith and Romeo Langford. Although, neither of them have much streaming appeal even with extended playing time.

Fri Oct 22 202118:00Josh Richardson, Al Horford Set For Season Debuts Friday
Boston Celtics shooting guard/small forward Josh Richardson (migraine) and power forward/center Al Horford (health and safety protocols) will make their respective season debuts during Friday's contest against the Raptors. Richardson figures to lead Boston's second unit, while Horford -- who is expected to play just 20-25 minutes -- shifts into the starting lineup. With Horford back in the mix, Grant Williams moves into his familiar bench role, zapping him of most of his fantasy intrigue. Richardson has not averaged fewer than 30 minutes per contest since his rookie season 2015-16, but his role with the Celtics remains very much up in the air to start the season.

Thu Oct 21 202120:39Josh Richardson May Make Boston Debut Friday
Boston Celtics guard/forward Josh Richardson (migraine) is listed as probable to play Friday against the Brooklyn Nets. Richardson missed the season opener on Wednesday due to the migraine, but all signs point to him making his debut in green on Friday. The Celtics has put a lot of trust into Richardson by giving him a contract extension before playing a single minute with them. Richardson's arrival will likely mean less minutes for Romeo Langford and Aaron Nesmith.
