Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (knee) is available for Saturday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. Martin appears to be fine for this game despite dealing with left knee soreness. That being said, Martin is well worth a look as a streaming option.

Wed Mar 22 202318:09Caleb Martin Available To Play Wednesday
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (knee) will play Wednesday against the New York Knicks. Martin has been battling some ongoing knee soreness and was listed as questionable, but will play through the injury against New York. Martin has gotten most of the minutes at power forward despite the acquisition of Kevin Love and offers some low-end fantasy value. However, for weekly leagues, the Heat only play one more game this week and other streamers may offer more value.

Tue Mar 21 202316:41Caleb Martin Added To Injury Report Against Knicks
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (knee) has been added to the team's injury report due to left knee soreness. The 27-year-old was able to play 30 minutes in their last game against the Detroit Pistons, so this sounds like it could be a precautionary injury status. Just in case he can't play, some sort of a combo between Haywood Highsmith, Nikola Jovic, and Victor Oladipo would take those minutes. Picking a streaming option out of those three would be a shot in the dark.

Sat Mar 11 202318:38Caleb Martin Won't Play Saturday
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Orlando Magic. The Heat are likely to use multiple players to help fill the void of Martin. The expectation is that Kevin Love is going to play a majority of the minutes at power forward. However, Haywood Highsmith and Jimmy Butler could see more action at the four as well. That means, Max Strus and Victor Oladipo could see more playing time if Highsmith and Butler shift over. Fantasy managers should look at Love for a possible streaming option until Martin is healthy again.

Fri Mar 3 202315:36Caleb Martin Tagged As Questionable Against Knicks
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (ankle) has just been added to the injury report with left ankle discomfort and is tagged as questionable for Friday's contest against the New York Knicks. The Heat have another long list on the injury report, and Martin has already seen his fantasy value fall off after the addition of Kevin Love. If Martin is sidelined, Haywood Highsmith would see extra minutes, but he's not recommended as a streaming option in this game.

Mon Jan 16 202315:21Caleb Martin Returns On Monday
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (quad) will be back in the starting five for Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. The 27-year-old has missed some time recently due to a left quad contusion. The good news is, he'll return on Monday and move right back into his spot in the starting five. His return will push Haywood Highsmith to the second unit. Highsmith won't have much streaming appeal with the second unit, so fantasy managers should adjust their lineups with Martin returning here.

Fri Jan 13 202321:57Caleb Martin Expected To Play On Saturday
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (quadriceps) is listed as probable ahead of Saturday's rematch with Milwaukee. The 27-year-old has missed his previous four games with a left quad contusion, allowing Haywood Highsmith to enter the starting lineup. However, Haysmith will likely head back to the bench once Martin officially receives the green light, lowering his fantasy potential.

Sun Jan 8 202303:03Caleb Martin Doubtful Against Brooklyn
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (quadriceps) is not anticipated to play in Sunday's matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. He's been in and out of the lineup recently because of a left quad strain, so he may miss more time moving ahead if he doesn't suit up for this one. Max Strus, who's averaged 14.5 points, 3.0 boards, and 2.4 assists in 21 starts this season, would likely remain with the first five if Martin is ultimately ruled out.

Fri Jan 6 202317:03Caleb Martin Not Expected To Suit Up Friday
Miami Heat small forward Caleb Martin (quad) has been tagged as doubtful to play in Friday's game vs. Phoenix as he continues to battle a strained left quad. Martin returned to start each of Miami's past two contests, but he combined for just 10 points across 35 minutes. A return to the sidelines for Martin paves the way for Max Strus and Haywood Highsmith to see their roles bumped up, while a larger reliance will come Jimmy Butler's way on the wing. Martin is on pace to set new career highs this season with 10.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest. Likely his next best chance to take the floor comes Sunday against the Nets.

Mon Jan 2 202321:32Caleb Martin Will Try To Play Monday Night
Miami Heat guard/forward Caleb Martin (quad) will "try to play" Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. Martin is listed as questionable but was more of a true game-time decision. Martin is trending towards playing, but his words does not instill a lot of confidence in his ability to stay on the court Monday. Martin has missed the past two games with a quad injury so the Heat may look to monitor his minutes. Martin's return would likely push Haywood Highsmith to the bench and take some playing time away from Victor Oladipo.

Fri Dec 30 202219:43Caleb Martin, Victor Oladipo Will Miss Friday’s Contest
Miami Heat small forward Caleb Martin (quad) and point/shooting guard Victor Oladipo (rest) have been ruled out for Friday's game against the Nuggets. Martin had just ramped his minutes back north of 30+ on Wednesday, with his absence paving the way for Max Strus and Duncan Robinson to play larger roles on the wing. Oladipo's absence comes on the front leg of a back-to-back, with the veteran expected to suit up -- and play a significant offensive role -- Saturday vs. Utah. Martin has emerged as a solid deeper season-long format wing option this year, although the key to his roster viability will be staying on the floor.

Mon Dec 19 202223:32Caleb Martin Questionable Against The Bulls
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's meeting with the Bulls. The 27-year-old didn't play against the Spurs on Saturday in Mexico City because of a sprained left ankle. With Kyle Lowry (knee) also questionable and Gabe Vincent (knee) out for this one, guys like Duncan Robinson and Victor Oladipo could receive additional minutes. However, with Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo, and Jimmy Butler (knee) on the floor, assuming they all play, there is little room for anyone else to get involved.

Sun Nov 27 202214:05Caleb Martin Likely To Suit Up Versus The Hawks
Miami Heat guard Caleb Martin (illness) is expected to suit up on Sunday against Atlanta. The 27-year-old has been under the weather lately. However, he played on Friday versus the Wizards, despite carrying the same designation to finish with 20 points. With Jimmy Butler (knee) still out, Martin should be a primary contributor on the offensive end, so managers need to get him into the lineup, assuming he plays.

Fri Nov 18 202218:17Caleb Martin Available On Friday
Miami Heat guard Caleb Martin (knee) is active versus Washington. Miami is shorthanded on Friday night, as Jimmy Butler (knee), Bam Adebayo (knee), and Tyler Herro (ankle), among others, won't suit up. As a result, Martin could see plenty of minutes and scoring opportunities, giving him plenty of DFS value.

Fri Nov 18 202218:00Caleb Martin Will Play Against Washington
Miami Heat guard Caleb Martin (knee) will play against Washington. During Friday's shootaround, Vincent experienced swelling in his knee, prompting head coach Erik Spoelstra to rule him out. However, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the swelling has gone down, so he is now available. With Jimmy Butler (knee), Duncan Robinson (hand), Victor Oladipo (knee), and potentially Bam Adebayo (knee) out, Vincent could get plenty of minutes and opportunities to produce. Yet, there's also a chance he doesn't see much work, so fantasy managers may want to consider other options.

Mon Oct 3 202208:30NBA Draft: UDFAs Who Won't Waste Time
It's funny that every year at the NBA Draft, once the end of the guaranteed money and live appearances arrives at the end of the first round, everybody tunes out and refers to the 60th pick as "Mr. Irrelevant." That's not very accurate though, is it? Speaking historically, the title of "Mr. Irrelevant" could just as easily be applied to each pick in the draft, as organizations differ greatly in their evaluation of talent and their own needs, particularly in a year without the NCAA tournament. The nickname just doesn't reflect how basketball works anymore. Executives strategically stockpile second-round draft picks for the less burdensome financial obligations, and organizations in rebuilding mode get super creative to field a respectable team on a budget.Particularly in the NBA where worldwide talent is plentiful and positional lines continue to fade, opportunity is everything: in the right situation, the right under-the-radar player can make an immediate, poignant statement. With professional development leagues for 16-18-year-olds, an ever-expanding set of domestic/international opportunities due to the sheer growth of basketball, and widespread NIL rights for college athletes, players of all levels and localities are starting to get their due exposure and now have enough freedom to hone their skills in a place, and at a pace that fits best with their path to the NBA.Plus, I am inherently skeptical and distrusting of scouting from the high school level to pre-Draft. That's why in this annual article, I tend to favor overlooked college players (love the mid-majors/non-power conferences) with either well-rounded, polished games, or specific statistical specialties. We are going to discuss a handful of 2022 second-round picks and undrafted free agent (UDFA) signees who, given their individual skillsets and circumstances, warrant the attention of Fantasy Basketball Managers as potential high-impact rookies for the 2022-23 campaign who can quietly be acquired on clearance once they start showing signs of emergence.... Wed Jul 13 202211:42Caleb Martin Could See Workload As Power Forward In 2022-23
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin may stand just 6-foot-5, but he is a realistic option for the club to hand a sizable minutes load at the power forward spot this year. Armed with a new three-year contract, Martin seems poised to try and fill P.J. Tucker's do-it-all role after the veteran signed with Philadelphia this offseason. "I think I'm a basketball player and I adjust to any position," Martin said via Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. "I'm going to get the job done." Miami boasts Nikola Jovic and Haywood Highsmith as internal options, but Martin offers exciting upside, especially on the heels of averaging new career-bests with 9.2 points and 3.8 boards per game last season.

Wed Jul 6 202215:04Miami Re-Signs Caleb Martin To Three-Year Deal
Miami Heat small forward Caleb Martin will reportedly return to the team on a three-year contract worth $20 million, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. Martin's deal comes just days after his brother, Cody, received a four-year, $32 million deal to remain in Charlotte. Caleb is coming off a career season with Miami, in which he averaged 9.2 points and 3.8 boards per outing, shooting 50.7 percent overall across 60 games (12 starts). A valuable member of the Heat's second unit, Martin could see an increased role in 2022-23 with P.J. Tucker having departed to Philadelphia in free agency.

Tue Jun 21 202220:37Heat Extend Qualifying Offer To Caleb Martin
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin will be a restricted free agent this summer. The organization has extended a $2.1 million qualifying offer to Martin. He played a key role off the bench for the Heat last season. That being said, he would certainly draw plenty of interest in free agency. Martin didn't play a ton during the postseason, but clearly the Heat enjoy having him around. He could be someone worth considering in the late rounds on draft day, but that depends on where he lands this offseason.

Mon May 16 202221:35Caleb Martin Questionable Ahead Of Game 1
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (ankle) is questionable heading into Tuesday's Eastern Conference Finals opener versus Boston. Martin dealt with the ailment throughout the previous series against Philadelphia. However, considering he didn't miss any time, it's unlikely he won't suit up for this one. Nonetheless, Martin has averaged just 2.9 points during the playoffs, so his status won't mean a thing for DFS managers.
