Tue Oct 22 201314:32Steve Novak expected for the opener
Steve Novak (hand) is expected to play in the season opener.
Coach Dwane Casey confirmed the two weeks of rest recommended began about 10 days ago, so he should be considered probable to start the season on time. The Raptors could use some 3-point production, but Novak's minutes look to be sparse.

Wed Oct 16 201312:04Steve Novak nursing minor hand injury
Updating a previous report, Steve Novak (hand injury) is expected to sit out Wednesday's game vs. the Celtics.
Novak reportedly could have played on Tuesday and the injury doesn't sound serious, but the Raptors will play it safe with their sharp-shooting forward.

Sat Oct 12 201309:50Steve Novak scoreless in six minutes on Fri.
Steve Novak failed to score in six minutes off the Raptors bench on Friday.
It wasn't the game Novak may have hoped for against his former team, the Knicks, and Toronto's second unit seemed out of sorts with a few exceptions like Tyler Hansbrough (nine points, four boards), Quincy Acy (nine points) and Dwight Buycks (10 points, two assists, two steals). Novak will have a bigger role in most games and his elite 3-point shooting makes him a viable specialist in some fantasy category-based formats.

Sun Jun 30 201319:06Steve Novak joins the Raptors in trade
Steve Novak was traded to the Raptors on Sunday.
He's a one-trick pony, but it's a trick he does very well as a career 43.4 percent shooter from beyond the arc. The Knicks might need a sharpshooter to replace Novak and could look to get one on the cheap in free agency. The Raptors might not be done wheeling and dealing, so it's unclear how many minutes Novak will get in Canada. He's not a fantasy option at this time.

Sat May 11 201323:21Novak (back) plays two minutes in return
Knicks forward Steve Novak (back spasms) played under two minutes in his return from a three-game absence on Saturday.
He didn't leave the bench until the Knicks faced a 13-point deficit late in the game, and it's doubtful his role will increase with Amare Stoudemire (knee) back in the rotation.

Steve Novak (back) admitted he's not 100 percent healthy.
"It's definitely not 100% right now. But most guys aren't," Novak said. He played five minutes of garbage time and is unlikely to be a major factor in the second round series vs. Indiana.

Tue May 7 201308:44Steve Novak not expected to play Tuesday
Steve Novak (back) is not expected to play in Game 2 on Tuesday vs. the Pacers.
Novak is tentatively eyeing a return for Game 3, but it's telling of how bad his back is that he's not even able to get on the floor right now. When he does return, Chris Copeland's spot in the rotation will be in jeopardy.

Sun May 5 201314:48Steve Novak aiming for Game 3 return
Steve Novak is hoping to return for Game 3 on Saturday.
The Knicks play Game 2 on Saturday, then have a huge break by not playing in Indiana until Saturday night. Novak played just 8.4 minutes per game during the series against the Celtics, so his loss won't impact the Knicks rotation too much in Game 1 and 2.

Sat May 4 201310:34Steve Novak already ruled out for Game 1
Steve Novak (back) has already been ruled out for Game 1 of the Knicks' second-round series.
Novak didn't play in Game 6 on Friday night after his back began to spasm during Wednesday's game. The Knicks are tagging him as out "indefinitely" for the moment, with Mike Woodson not even sure if Novak can return in time for Game 2. Chris Copeland could see some extra minutes if his shoulder heals up a bit between now and tip-off Sunday.

Steve Novak (back) is questionable for Game 6 vs. Boston on Friday.
Novak played just three minutes on Wednesday and didn't return in the second half. His absence wouldn't impact much as he's played over 9.5 minutes just once in the playoffs so far. Chris Copeland could pick up a few minutes if Novak sits.

Mon Apr 15 201321:30Steve Novak hits five 3-pointers on Monday
Steve Novak was 5-of-7 from downtown in Monday's loss to the Bobcats, scoring 17 points with seven boards in 41 minutes.
He's been lights out from deep all year and raised his 3-point shooting to 42.9 percent, which ranks 10th in the league. Novak moved up to 20th on the season in 3-point makes and could have another chance to shine in Wednesday's finale.

Sun Apr 14 201319:13Steve Novak scores six points in 18 minutes
Steve Novak scored six points on two 3-pointers in his 18 minutes of action in Sunday's 90-80 win over the Pacers.
He really hasn't done much in April, averaging just 5.7 points in April. Now that the Knicks are going to rest players, Novak should be the trigger man on a team that just set the record for most 3-pointers in season. He's worth a look for any owner needing treys.

Fri Mar 15 201301:29Steve Novak fails to score vs. Portland
Steve Novak didn't make either of his attempts from beyond the arc and failed to score in nine minutes against the Blazers.
He's gone cold from deep, missing all 11 attempts in his last three games. The timing couldn't be worse for the Knicks and Novak doesn't really do enough for consideration in most fantasy leagues.

Sat Mar 9 201322:10Steve Novak pours in 20 points w/ five 3s
Steve Novak scored 20 points in Saturday's easy win vs. the Jazz, going 5-of-10 from downtown with two assists and one steal in 26 minutes.
The Knicks already rank first in the NBA in 3-pointers per game (10.8) and Amare Stoudemire's absence may emphasize their reliance on perimeter shooting, which can only help Novak's fantasy appeal. He's a prototypical 3-point specialist.

Mon Mar 4 201322:12Steve Novak hits four 3s in win on Monday
Steve Novak shot 4-of-7 from downtown and made all three free throws for 15 points to go with three boards and one steal in 20 minutes against the Cavs on Monday.
He hit a couple big shots and was a noticeable part of the Knicks' comeback win. New York was down 52-30 in the second quarter and they chipped away for one of their biggest wins of the year. If Carmelo Anthony needs to miss time, the sharp-shooting Novak is worth a look for 3-point needy owners.
