Daniels, along with Mo Williams, was traded to the Hornets on Tuesday in exchange for Gary Neal and a second-round pick, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Daniels is essentially a throw-in in the deal, as he's all but fallen out of the Timberwolves' rotation over the last few weeks. The VCU product, who burst onto the scene with the Rockets in the 2014 playoffs, was billed as one of the better perimeter shooters in the league, but he's shooting just 33.3 percent from downtown this season. Expect Daniels to primarily provide depth at shooting guard with his new team.

Daniels scored five points with three rebounds in 16 minutes, but was just 1-of-4 from three-point range, in Wednesday's loss to Dallas.

Daniels could carve out a regular role off the bench if he proves he can shoot from long range. However, he's just 5-of-18 (27.8 percent) from three-point range in his last six games.

Daniels scored 11 points in 13 minutes in Thursday's loss to Sacramento. He was 3-of-7 from three-point range.

Daniels could carve out a steady roll off the bench if he can provide the T-Wolves with three-point shooting. He's a player to watch in deeper formats.

Daniels scored 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-4 3Pt) with two rebounds and one assist in just eight minutes of action during Saturday's loss to the Warriors.

This was simply a garbage time appearance for Daniels, but he did flash the ability to score from beyond the arc that he's been known for in his short career. Daniels is a deep league stash at best in most formats.

Daniels made a brief debut for the Timberwolves in a loss to the Pacers on Sunday, appearing in less than a minute and missing the one shot he took.

Over time, Daniels will obviously see more time. He just came to the Timberwolves in a trade that sent Corey Brewer to the Rockets on Friday. Daniels is nothing more than a three-point specialist, which fills a need for the Timberwolves, but isn't very useful to fantasy owners.

Daniels will be available to play Sunday.

Acquired from Houston in the Corey Brewer deal on Friday, Daniels will be in uniform and available off the bench for Flip Saunders. The former D-Leaguer, who broke out in the playoffs last season, is averaging just 2.7 points per game this season while shooting a disappointing 31.9 percent from beyond the arc.

They are expected to make him a qualifying offer today to officially make him a restricted free agent. Daniels shot the lights out in the deal league with 5.0 triples per game and he hit a game-winning trey in the playoffs vs. the Blazers. He'll have a little more competition for minutes this year.

Chandler Parsons fouled out in overtime and it led to the Rockets going with a tiny unit of Patrick Beverley, Jeremy Lin, James Harden, Dwight Howard and Daniels down the stretch. Daniels got free for a look on the wing to give the Rockets the lead for good. He set a D-league record for treys in a season with 240 and this was just his sixth NBA game. He played 20 minutes tonight and has a good shot to stay in the teens the rest of the way.

Don't feel bad if you've never heard of him, as they signed him in February and called him up from the D-League last week. Patrick Beverley had 14 points and two 3-pointers, Dwight Howard hit just 1-of-5 shots for seven points, four boards and three blocks, Terrence Jones added 17 points and eight rebounds, Donatas Motiejunas had 11 points and 10 boards in 17 minutes, and Jordan Hamilton had 14 points and four 3-pointers in the meaningless loss. The Rockets will face the Blazers in Round 1 of the playoffs.

With Chandler Parsons and James Harden resting, the Rockets will get some of their bench guys some run. Daniels has been bombing triples all year in the D-League and will have his best chance to have a good game in the NBA tonight.

He's hit a whopping 5.0 triples per game in his 48 games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers this season. He ranked third in the D-League this season for total points and is obviously lapping the field for his lead with 240 treys on the year. Assuming James Harden does rest, Daniels will play behind Jordan Hamilton and Francisco Garcia on the wing, so he's not a very strong option unless you are really dying for 3-pointers.

He's been particularly hot lately, making a ridiculous 5.4 triples per game over his last 18. Even with the injury to James Harden and the phenomenal shooting, he's not worth owning in almost any league.

They'll have tow more cuts to make after that, as they trim the roster to 15 players.
