LeBron James has dominated the National Basketball Association since entering the league straight from high school. He's won numerous awards and has led several teams to an NBA Championship. During the 2022-23 season, the Akron, Ohio, native continued to get it done, despite battling several nagging ailments along the way. However, James' latest issue, a right foot injury, is expected to keep him out indefinitely. So what does this mean, and will we see James back on the court this season? LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

LeBron James' Season Recap

Despite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... Fri Feb 10 202316:22Devin Booker Off The Injury Report On Friday
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has been removed from the injury report ahead of their game against the Indiana Pacers on Friday. This helps the Suns' chances of grabbing a win since they still won't have any of the players they received in trades and while Cameron Payne (foot) and Landry Shamet (foot) are both out. Fantasy managers that have Booker will probably see an even bigger increase in production due to the usage that will be available even during his minutes restriction.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Wed Feb 8 202323:17Devin Booker Won't Play Against Atlanta
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker (groin) won't play on Thursday night versus the Atlanta Hawks. The 26-year-old recently returned from a lengthy layoff on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets, finishing with 19 points in 25 minutes. Nevertheless, Booker will likely be back in the lineup on Friday in Indiana. Although he's expected to see fewer minutes than usual, he's still a must-start fantasy option.

Tue Feb 7 202315:54Devin Booker Probable To Return On Tuesday
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker (groin) is likely to make his return on Tuesday after missing 21 consecutive games due to a left groin strain back on Christmas Day against the Denver Nuggets. The Suns will welcome him back with open arms as they sit just a half game above the play-in tournament as the sixth seed. Booker could be on a minutes restriction for the first game or two but Torrey Craig and Damion Lee are likely to take a big hit to their fantasy value.

Tue Feb 7 202307:15Kyrie Irving Traded To Dallas - Fantasy Basketball Impact
Without a doubt, Kyrie Irving is arguably one of the most naturally gifted players in the National Basketball Association. He's a fantastic ball-handler and can get to the rim with ease. However, the former Duke Blue Devil's career has been surrounded by controversy, ultimately impacting his ability to win an MVP.The NBA trade deadline kicked off with a bang when Irving, who had demanded a trade out of Brooklyn, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. NBA fans and fantasy managers are left wondering how things will play out.To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NBA, make sure to favorite or bookmark the RotoBaller Fantasy Basketball Newspage, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy basketball mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. However, things were apparently going too well, as Irving dropped a bombshell by requesting a trade. His wish was granted, as he was sent to Dallas in exchange for ... [More]
Mon Feb 6 202321:56Devin Booker Set To Return Tuesday
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker (groin) is listed as probable to play Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets. Booker has not played since Christmas Day, missing a lengthy amount of time with a groin strain, but is expected to make his return against the Nets. Booker will likely be on a minutes restriction given his length of absence, but should return to the starting lineup right away. One of Cameron Johnson or Torrey Craig should shift to the bench when Booker makes his return.

Wed Feb 1 202322:03Devin Booker Could Return Next Week
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker (groin) has been sidelined for nearly 20 games, but could be back in the lineup soon. The superstar guard has a chance to return as early as next Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets. That means, Booker might only miss three more games, but we'll wait and see how he feels. The expectation is that Booker is going to be eased back into action. That means, he'll see heavy minutes limits to start, but at least he'd be back on the court. Torrey Craig would likely lose the most fantasy value from the return on Booker. Fantasy managers will have to check back later in the week for another update on Booker.

Sat Jan 28 202314:37Devin Booker Misses A 17th Consecutive Game
Phoenix Suns guard/forward Devin Booker (groin) remains on the shelf for the weekend and will miss a 17th consecutive game Saturday against San Antonio. He is still recovering from a left groin strain and the team announced on Wednesday that Booker will be re-evaluated in a week. It looks like it will still take a bit more time until the Suns star is ready to play again. Damion Lee has had a good run in Booker's absence and Josh Okogie has popped up with a couple of big performances as well.

Marcus Smart Injury Update

The Celtics were without Jayson Tatum for Saturday's meeting with Toronto, as the MVP candidate got the day off to deal with wrist soreness. Luckily, the C's recently got Jaylen Brown back from a three-game layoff, so the team at least had its No. 2 scoring option. Boston also had Marcus Smart, who is proficient on both ends of the floor.Unfortunately, the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year's evening didn't last long, as he exited in the first half after suffering a sprained right ankle. Smart has battled ankle injuries throughout his career, so fantasy managers are familiar with this.https://twitter.com/ChrisForsberg_/status/1616933981362028546?s=20&t=ADA6dM_t2muMcgq6cJRitwWhile X-ray results were encouraging, revealing no structural damage, he'll likely miss a game or two, possibly more. LaMelo Ball Injury Update

LaMelo Ball exited Monday's meeting with the Rockets with a sprained left ankle. This is an all too familiar ailment, as the 21-year-old injured it twice already this season. He missed the first 13 games of the 2022-23 campaign because of it before making his season debut on November 12 against Miami.https://twitter.com/HornetsOnBally/status/1615898994508546048?s=20&t=2ONmwk9cIuX1k5z8xOpxsQUnfortunately, the 2020 No. 3 overall pick was incapacitated again after stepping on a fan's foot during a matchup with Indiana just a few days later, keeping him sidelined for an additional 11 games. Now, it appears fantasy managers will be without Ball for a while, considering he needed help getting to the locker room. With ... [More]

Donovan Mitchell Injury Update

Donovan Mitchell has been on a tear in his first season as a Cavalier, averaging a career-high 28.8 points per game. The 26-year-old has certainly made an impact, so there is naturally some concern surrounding his most recent injury, a groin strain, suffered during Monday's win over the Pelicans.https://twitter.com/ChrisFedor/status/1615106299636719632?s=20&t=nIB5An7gWfmmxjT49g7LLAMitchell exited in the third quarter and did not return to the contest, finishing with 11 points in 22 minutes. The former Louisville Cardinal has stayed relatively healthy in 2022-23, missing only five games. However, with the Cavs looking to make a deep run into the postseason, Mitchell may miss some games, beginning with Wednesday's meeting in Memphis.https://twitter.com/AmicoHoops/status/1615116579011690502?s=20&t=8uEcBgsFXrfQNXVsKuQmNAWithout him in the lineup, others will have to step up. Sat Jan 7 202317:16Devin Booker To Be Re-Evaluated By End Of January
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker (groin) will be re-evaluated in the last week of January, according to Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic. The veteran has been bothered by a groin strain, which hasn't been ideal for a Suns team that has lost eight of their previous nine games. Even worse, Chris Paul (hip) is day-to-day after leaving Friday's meeting with Miami, while Cameron Payne (foot) won't be back for at least a few weeks. As a result, Landry Shamet, Damion Lee, and Duane Washington Jr., who combined for 29 points versus the Heat, could see an uptick in production moving ahead. All three warrant consideration for managers partaking in deep fantasy setups. However, Shamet has more fantasy potential.

Wed Dec 28 202214:35Devin Booker Ruled Out For At Least Four Weeks
Phoenix Suns guard/forward Devin Booker (groin) is set to miss at least four weeks with his latest injury. The 26-year-old superstar re-aggravated a left groin problem on Christmas Day against Denver. Before making a brief four-minute appearance in the contest, Booker had already sat out three games with the issue. Landry Shamet (Achilles) had a great night after Booker went out, but he's now on the shelf himself. With Cameron Payne (foot) also unavailable, Damion Lee and Duane Washington Jr. have started to play important roles in the rotation. Lee is the more attractive fantasy option and could now go on to have a very productive stretch until the backcourt injuries clear up.

Mon Dec 26 202223:12Devin Booker Out On Tuesday
Phoenix Suns forward Devin Booker (groin) is out for Tuesday's matchup with Memphis. Booker returned from a three-game absence on Christmas against the Nuggets. However, he didn't last long, logging only four minutes before re-aggravating his groin issue. With Cameron Payne (foot) and Landry Shamet (Achilles) out as well, Damion Lee, who had 18 points on Sunday night, should move into the starting lineup. The Suns will likely take a cautious approach before allowing Booker to return, so Lee could provide value for fantasy managers for at least a game or two, depending on when Payne and Shamet are healthy.

Mon Dec 26 202223:04Devin Booker Out Again Versus Memphis
Phoenix Suns forward Devin Booker (groin) is out for Tuesday's matchup with Memphis. Booker returned from a three-game absence on Christmas against the Nuggets. However, he didn't last long, logging only four minutes before re-aggravating his groin issue. With Cameron Payne (foot) out as Well, Landry Shamet, who scored a team-high 31 points and shot 7-for-17 from deep on Sunday night, may move into the starting lineup. The Suns will likely take a cautious approach before allowing Booker to return, so Shamet could provide value for fantasy managers for at least a few games.

Mon Dec 26 202207:07Devin Booker Lasts Just Four Minutes In Comeback Game
Phoenix Suns guard/forward Devin Booker managed to play just four minutes on Christmas Day against Denver, leaving with a left groin problem. Prior to Sunday, he had missed three games with a sore groin and it seems likely that Booker will miss time again. There should be updates coming on his status Monday. Landry Shamet has had a great stretch whilst filling in for Booker and stood out again versus the Nuggets, leading the team with 31 points. Damion Lee is also a guy to target during Booker's absence, although Shamet is definitely the better option for fantasy managers.

Sun Dec 25 202208:56Devin Booker On Track To Return On Christmas
Phoenix Suns guard/forward Devin Booker (groin) is expected to return to the lineup for the team's Christmas Day matchup against Denver. He has missed the past three games with groin soreness, but sources have told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Suns star is set to be back against the Nuggets. Booker exited the lineup right after erupting for a huge 58-point performance against New Orleans. He is averaging a career-high 28.0 points per game this season and should have a point to prove after posting just 13 points in his Christmas Day debut last year. Landry Shamet and Damion Lee have logged starts in Booker's absence and his return will have a negative impact on both, although Cameron Payne's (foot) continued absence still keeps some backcourt minutes open.

Thu Dec 22 202220:05Devin Booker Won't Play Friday
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker (groin) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The star guard will miss his third game in a row due to groin soreness. The fact Booker was ruled out a full day in advance is a bit concerning. Hopefully, this will be the last game that Booker is forced to miss due to this issue. In the meantime, Damion Lee and Landry Shamet will see increased workloads. Both players are possible streaming options with Booker on the sideline.
