Lewis suffered his ninth loss of the season Monday against the Tigers, allowing six runs on 10 hits and one walk in 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
The fifth inning undid the veteran in this one, as he surrendered a three-run homer which the Tigers followed with two more runs. The rocky outing snapped a three-game win streak for "The Cobra," and his season ERA rose to 4.53. Lewis will try and rebound from this outing in his final start of the season, in what could be a very meaningful game Saturday against the Angels.

Lewis (17-8) took the win Wednesday night, giving up two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings in a 10-3 victory over the Athletics.
The veteran improved to 3-0 with a 1.64 ERA against Oakland on the season, and has now won each of his last three decisions -- a span in which Lewis has allowed just four earned runs. Lewis' fantasy stock has increased considerably from last season, enjoying marked improvements in wins, ERA and WHIP. The right-hander will next take the mound Monday against the Tigers.

Lewis (16-8) pitched six strong innings against Houston on Thursday, giving up two runs on seven hits in an 8-2 win. He struck out three without a walk.
The Rangers have been making a surprising push for the division, and their four-game sweep of Houston has them up 2.5 games in the AL West. lewis has been a big part, as he followed up a shutout of the A's in his last start with his second consecutive walk-free quality start in this one. He's still a risky fantasy play, but hey, the guy's picked up 16 wins to go with his ugly 4.41 ERA.

Lewis (15-8) pitched a complete-game shutout on Friday, surrendering just two hits while striking out four in a win over Oakland.
Lewis was almost perfect on Friday, retiring the first 21 batters he faced. Friday's performance came out of nowhere as Lewis had dished out more walks, nine, than strikeouts, eight, in his last three starts, compiling a 8.62 ERA and 2.04 WHIP during that stretch. Lewis has hovered around mediocre all season and even when he's on, as was the case Friday, he doesn't register too many strikeouts. He's a late-season addition only if you're in dire straits.

Lewis (14-8) struggled mightily through five innings, giving up seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits and three walks while striking out five batters in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.
It's been a rough stretch for Lewis as of late. The 36-year-old has now allowed 18 runs in his last 15.2 innings and he's posted an 8:9 K:BB over that time frame as well. Lewis is soaking up plenty of innings --- he has hit the five-inning plateau in 26 of his 28 starts --- but he hasn't been particularly effective on the mound, as his 4.68 ERA indicates. Lewis will try to turn that trend around when he faces the A's in a home start on Friday.

Lewis fell to 14-7 as he allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out two.
Lewis induced 10 swinging strikes on 100 pitches but gave up 10 fly balls, resulting in the three extra-base hits that helped sink this start. Hitters were already slugging .427 off Lewis entering this start, and that problem isn't likely to go away any time soon. Give him credit for eating innings, though -- Lewis has failed to go more than five innings just twice in 27 starts despite his 4.50 ERA.
