The Padres have yet to make an official announcement, but he's expected to replace Cameron Maybin (knee) on the active roster. Decker, 23, is batting .251/.370/.399 with five home runs and 20 RBI in 59 games this season with Triple-A Tucson. While he has been a bit of a disappointment as a prospect, he has patience and is capable of playing all three outfield positions. | ||||||

Decker missed time with injury in 2012 and wound up batting only .184/.365/.293 at Double-A. The on-base skills are still there, but he hasn't progressed as much at the plate as hoped. The Padres obviously aren't ready to give up on him, though, since they've protected him from the Rule 5 Draft. | ||||||
