Petit inked a minor league deal with the Padres last offseason, but missed the entire 2011 season with a knee injury. The 27-year-old infielder has appeared in 25 major league games with the A's and owns an underwhelming .265/.322/.365 batting line in the minors. This is strictly an organizational depth move. | ||||||
