Frias gave up three runs on six hits and one walk while adding five strikeouts in six innings Wednesday against the Marlins.

Frias (3-0) picked up a no-decision Wednesday, though he left the game with a two run lead. After reliever Adam Liberatore gave up back to back singles, reliever Chris Hatcher gave up an RBI single to Martin Prado then a two-run RBI single to Giancarlo Stanton to give the Marlins a one run lead. Frias will have his next scheduled start Tuesday at San Francisco.

Frias (3-0) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings Thursday in a win over the Brewers.

After 7.2 scoreless innings over a start and two relief appearances to open the year, Frias promptly gave up a first-inning run en route to a mediocre outing. The Dodgers haven't gotten much length out of Frias yet, but his 11:3 K:BB is promising. He'll look to go deeper in Tuesday's start against the Marlins.

Frias will start Thursday against the Brewers, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

With Joe Wieland set to start Wednesday, Frias will move back to oppose Mike Fiers in the series finale against Milwaukee. Frias tossed 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk with three strikeouts, in a win over Arizona on Friday.

Working with a mix of four-seamers, two-seamers, and cutters, Frias topped out at 98.3 mph in Friday's start. He's expected to remain in the rotation for at least one more turn, and Frias' next scheduled start is currently lined up for Wednesday in Milwaukee against the Brewers.

Frias will start Friday against the Diamondbacks, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Frias, who was recalled late last week, will occupy the rotation spot vacated by Brandon McCarthy (elbow), at least temporarily. The 25-year-old Frias threw 91 pitches in a start for Triple-A Oklahoma City a little over a week ago but will likely have a short leash if he struggles in the early going against Arizona.

Frias didn't even pitch the last time he was in the big leagues, and will once again provide manager Don Mattingly with bullpen depth. He can be safely ignored in most fantasy formats, at least until he earns an opportunity to expand his role.

Frias was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.

Frias' stint with the big-league club lasted just one day, and he didn't even get a chance to pitch. He may still be a candidate to start against the Padres on April 25, when the Dodgers will need a fifth starter for the first time this season.

Frias was called up by the Dodgers prior to Wednesday's game, the Los Angeles Times' Dylan Hernandez reports.

Frias could conceivably be thrown into the Dodgers' rotation at some point next week, but the Dodgers don't need a fifth starter until Apr. 26, so for now Frias will likely work out of the bullpen in a long relief role. Last year Frias put up a 5.01 ERA (3.60 FIP) in 91.2 innings at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Frias has been assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Frias saw some time in LA last year, but with a 6.12 ERA, he's pretty far down on the starting pitcher depth chart right now. Frias allowed minor league hitters to bat .299 against him last year, so he'll need to show some improvement to make it back to the big leagues.

Frias is a candidate to start Sunday against the Cubs, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.

Frias failed to get out of the first inning after allowing eight earned runs during his last outing in Colorado, but with the Dodgers facing limited options, there's a chance that they once again turn to the 24-year-old righty. This announcement also means Dan Haren is the most likely candidate to pitch Monday, as Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder) is considered "doubtful" for the remainder of the regular season.

Frias was tagged for eight runs on 10 hits in two-thirds of an inning against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Despite getting hammered in the 38-pitch outing, Frias may receive another turn in the Dodgers' rotation with Hyun-Jin Ryu expected to miss the rest of the regular season, although an alternative could be reliever Kevin Correia, who threw 57 pitches over three innings as part of the Dodgers' relief effort Wednesday.

Frias is being prepared by the Dodgers to start Monday in Colorado, the Dodgers' official site reports.

He's be a risky play in that venue, but in his only other start on September 3, Frias tossed six scoreless innings against first-place Washington. If you're desperate in NL-only formats, you may want to consider Frias this week.

Frias appears to be the most likely candidate to join the rotation should Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder) need to miss his next start.

It seems likely Ryu will miss at least one start, so if you're desperate in NL-only formats, Frias could be worth a look. He has a 3.91 ERA in 25.1 innings.

Making his first big league start, Frias outpitched Jordan Zimmermann on Wednesday, and simply missed out on the opportunity to earn a victory when Kenley Jansen was tagged for three runs in the ninth inning. The Dodgers are expected to go back to their usual rotation following an off-day Thursday, making Frias a spare arm in the bullpen if the need for a long man arises in the coming weeks.

Frias will start for the Dodgers on Wednesday against the Nationals, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.

The appointment to the rotation looks to be just a one-time deal for Frias, who was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. He'll simply step in as a starter to afford some more rest for Dan Haren, who will have his next outing pushed back to Friday against the Diamondbacks as a result. Frias didn't post particularly strong numbers over 91.2 innings at Albuquerque (5.01 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 65 strikeouts) this season, and shouldn't be counted on to deliver a useful outing.
