Suns rookie G Kendall Marshall was getting time with the starting unit during Tuesday's practice.
New coach Lindsay Hunter is reportedly very high on Marshall, the team's No. 13 overall draft pick that has appeared in just 11 games all year. The Suns' media is speculating that he'll get the biggest bump in playing time as a result of the change. Note that Hunter and Goran Dragic were running together on the first team Tuesday.

Kendall Marshall said that he's feeling more confident in his ability to shoot the ball.
And it only took half of of his rookie season. "I feel like I was able to shoot it before but 80 percent of shooting is confidence and that's something I lack from time to time," he said. Lindsey Hunter has encouraged Marshall to play his game and the No. 13 overall pick could finally see some consistent playing time with a new coach at the helm.

Suns interim head coach Linsey Hunter has reportedly "been a proponent of first-round draft choice Kendall Marshall."
Hunter's surprising promotion suggests the Suns are willing to unleash their young players, which makes sense since they're rapidly falling out of the playoff picture. Marshall isn't likely to play enough for fantasy purposes, but owners in deep leagues should keep an eye on him.

Kendall Marshall is hoping to use his D-League stint to improve his confidence during his rookie season.
Marshall averaged 7.6 assists in the D-League, but he also shot just 31.3 percent from the field, including 22.2 percent on 3-point shots. He worked extensively on his pick-and-roll defense during his time in the D-League, and he's got a long road ahead to make an impact this year.

The Suns have lost seven of their past eight games, and struggled while Goran Dragic was ill with the flu, but Marshall doesn't seem like he'll be a factor this season.

Marhsall recently sprained his ankle in practice, but that's not the cause of his absence so we're taking him off the injury list. For the moment, Sebastian Telfair is the Suns' unquestioned backup PG.
