Wed Feb 5 201422:11Kendall Marshall gets hot from downtown
Kendall Marshall played 25 minutes off the bench against the Cavs on Wednesday, scoring 12 points with four boards, seven assists, one steal and four 3-pointers.
He was hot from deep and the Cavs didn't respect his shot at all tonight. Marshall is going to be coming off the bench as long as the Lakers have Jordan Farmar or Steve Nash available, but he should be a decent plug-and-play option in games Nash needs to sit. What's more, if Farmar's calf injury costs him time, Marshall would be a good bet for at least 25 minutes a night like tonight, which makes him a solid speculative add for owners needing assists.

Tue Feb 4 201423:39Kendall Marshall disappears as guards return
Kendall Marshall gave way to Steve Nash and Steve Blake on Tuesday, coming off the bench for five points, three rebounds, three assists and a 3-pointer in 21 minutes.
It didn't take long for Marshall's stellar run to come to an end, and things could get even worse when Jordan Farmar returns, possibly on Wednesday night. However, Blake suffered a ruptured eardrum tonight and Nash may or may not be able to stay healthy. But with so many point guard options for Mike D'Antoni going forward, it looks like Marshall's run is officially over. It sure was fun while it lasted.

Tue Feb 4 201414:44Kendall Marshall to play backup role Tuesday
Mike D'Antoni suggested that Kendall Marshall will play approximately 20-25 minutes off the bench on Tuesday, backing up starters Steve Nash and Steve Blake.
"I just talked to all of them, I told them ... don't get used to playing 40 minutes and not ever coming out and making a mistake and not coming out," D'Antoni said. "We could have another starting group tomorrow but everybody will get an opportunity to make the best of it." Although this leaves open the possibility of Marshall regaining the starting PG job, it would likely take another injury to Nash or Blake for him to maintain value in 12-team leagues.

Wed Jan 29 201402:32Kendall Marshall double-doubles in loss
Kendall Marshall had another double-double with 11 points, 13 assists and a 3-pointer on 5-of-11 shooting in Tuesday's loss.
He's double-doubled in three of his last five games, and while he's sure to take some kind of hit once Steve Blake, Steve Nash and Jordan Farmar are back, owners should just plan on riding him until the wheels fall off. Nash is hoping to play next Tuesday, but it's hard to see him getting significant run after sitting out for the last two and a half months.

Sun Jan 26 201418:06Kendall Marshall hands out just five dimes
Kendall Marshall handed out just five assists against the Knicks on Sunday, adding 12 points, two boards and two 3-pointers.
It's his lowest assist total in the month of January after leading the NBA in assists per game in the month. He dropped to just 11.4 per game after today and has trailsTy Lawson for the top spot in the month. Marshall is starting to score a bit and he has at least a couple weeks of must-start value.

Fri Jan 24 201422:09Marshall goes big with 19 & 14 with five 3PMs
Kendall Marshall scored 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting (including five threes) with three rebounds, 14 assists and a steal in Friday's loss to the Magic.
Marshall is enjoying the Mike D'Antoni system and making a case for playing time when the cavalry returns, though it's hard to imagine D'Antoni completely ignoring Marshall's turnstile defense. Then again, this is D'Antoni we're talking about here.

Thu Jan 23 201422:45Kendall Marshall's scoring numbers dipping
Kendall Marshall shot just 2-of-6 from the field in Thursday's loss to the Heat for six points with three boards, 11 assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes.
His scoring has really taken a dip and teams have limited him from getting into the paint. In his last two games, Marshall had just one field goal in the paint and teams seem to have him figured out offensively. On the other hand, the assists and steals have been there, so he should remain owned in all leagues.

Wed Jan 15 201401:40Kendall Marshall goes for 10 & 16 in loss
Kendall Marshall hit 4-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 10 points, two rebounds, 16 assists and a steal in Tuesday's loss to the Cavaliers.
Marshall's been an assist king at home, dropping 16, 17 and 15 dimes as a starter in L.A., and is averaging 13.6 points and 13.0 points and 12.0 assists in his six January starts. With none of the Lakers point guards near a return and the Lakers season heading down the drain, Marshall should continue to flourish at point guard until further notice.

Sun Jan 12 201413:21D'Antoni: Lakers need better spacing, screens
Mike D'Antoni said the Lakers are making things harder for PG Kendall Marshall by failing to space the court and set proper screens.
"God gave [Marshall] the ability to have an unbelievable passing ability," D'Antoni said. "We're closing the floor up on him. If we do that, we're going to turn it over. That's not his fault. That's a team fault." Fantasy owners aren't complaining, as Marshall is averaging 13.6 points, 2.0 threes, 4.8 rebounds, 11.2 assists and 3.6 turnovers in five starts this season.

Sat Jan 11 201403:13Marshall mildly tweaks ankle in blowout loss
Kendall Marshall mildly tweaked his ankle in the Lakers' 36-point blowout loss to the Clippers on Friday, but stayed in the game and finished with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, three treys, four rebounds and 10 assists in 40 minutes.
Marshall is going to be fun to own for the next few weeks but once any of their other guys can walk he'll probably take a dive in fantasy leagues. Owners shouldn't move the needle much on projections in this type of game. Jodie Meeks scored 11 points on 2-of-10 shooting with three boards and a steal, Wes Johnson scored 14 points with a three, Pau Gasol put up a 10-8-5 line, and Nick Young talked about beating the Clippers in the playoffs after hitting just 3-of-14 shots for 11 points and seven boards in this laugher.

Wed Jan 8 201423:54Kendall Marshall has a tough shooting night
Kendall Marshall couldn't find his shot against the Rockets on Wednesday, shooting 2-of-13 from the field for five points, five boards, eight assists, one steal, one 3-pointer and six turnovers in 38 minutes.
He only attempted four shots in the paint, which might be a recipe for disaster for his efficiency. After tonight, Marshall is only shooting 15.8 percent on his mid-range shots this season. On the bright side, he's really shown he's capable of being a great passer in the league, so his fantasy owners should be happy with Marshall's output in assists, steals and 3-pointers.

Wed Jan 8 201401:58Kendall Marshall plays well again for Lakers
Kendall Marshall hit 7-of-10 shots and three 3-pointers for 18 points and six assists in Tuesday's ugly loss, but also committed six turnovers.
It looks like the tank is on in L.A., but Marshall has been a fantasy beast over his last three games. Make sure he's not sitting out there in yours.

Mon Jan 6 201400:23Kendall Marshall hands out 17 assists
Kendall Marshall handed out a career-high 17 assists against the Nuggets on Sunday to go with nine points, six boards, two steals and one 3-pointer on 3-of-10 shooting.
Obviously there was nowhere to go but down after his stellar debut in the starting lineup. Marshall's body of work suggests he'll really struggle scoring at the NBA level, but that's fine for his fantasy owners as evident by his 17-assist line tonight. Marshall should be able to add enough assists, steals and triples to keep him owned in all standard leagues. It's worth mentioning he was pretty bad on defense tonight.

Sat Jan 4 201401:15Marshall out of nowhere for 20-6-15 line
Kendall Marshall destroyed expectations with career-highs in points (20), rebounds (6), and assists (15) in Friday's win over the Jazz.
Okay, first the caveats. Mike D'Antoni's system is known to inflate point guard values and the Jazz are not very good with Trey Burke's defense being a big part of that. Now, the rest. Marshall has had plenty of time to work on his game and the part about D'Antoni's system helping point guards should be music to owners' ears. With Marshall owning the month of January at the very least, he's a must-add in fantasy leagues right now.

Fri Jan 3 201409:54Kendall Marshall was lighting up D-League
New Lakers starting PG Kendall Marshall was averaging 19.4 points, 9.6 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 3-pointers and 1.9 steals in seven D-League games this season.
Obviously, we can't take D-League stats too seriously. But it's at least a good sign that Marshall was able to hit 46.3 percent of his 3-pointers and rebound at a high level from the point guard spot in the minors. Given all the Lakers backcourt injuries, 30+ minutes on Friday night and going forward is a safe projection. There's tons of upside here in all formats.

Thu Jan 2 201415:43Kendall Marshall to start at PG on Friday
Kendall Marshall will start at PG for the Lakers on Friday.
Marshall has nice short-term upside since Jordan Farmar (hamstring) is out about four weeks after his latest setback, and both Steve Blake (elbow) and Steve Nash (nerves) are out until at least late January. Marshall's FG percentage may be a problem for fantasy purposes, but he should chip in enough points, 3-pointers, assists and steals to be worth a look if you need help at PG.

Wed Jan 1 201415:15Kendall Marshall likely to take over at PG
Kendall Marshall figures to take over as the starting point guard for the Lakers.
The Lakers are expected to miss Jordan Farmar (hamstring), Steve Blake (elbow) and Steve Nash (back) for at least three more weeks and Xavier Henry is also out for another week, so Marshall is the best healthy point guard on the roster. Marshall did score 19.5 points per game in the D-League this season, but only making 47.9 percent of his shots from within eight feet at that level does spell trouble for his ability to score with the big boys. Still, Marshall is going to take triples and should have plenty of assists, so he's worth an add in standard leagues.

Wed Jan 1 201401:02Kendall Marshall might be last PG standing
Kendall Marshall shot 4-of-7 from the field for 10 points against the Bucks on Tuesday with one rebound, seven assists, two 3-pointers and two turnovers in 28 minutes.
Jordan Farmar couldn't finish the game on Tuesday and Marshall is suddenly the only healthy option at point guard right now. Farmar will have an ultrasound to check on his hamstring on Wednesday, so that will go a long way in determining Marshall's value. He's worth a look as a speculative add for any owner seeking help at point guard.

Fri Dec 20 201314:11Kendall Marshall will suit up for Friday
Kendall Marshall will dress for Friday's game against the Wolves.
He would come off the bench with Xavier Henry starting at point guard tonight. Marshall is no lock to play, but it's hard to imagine coach Mike D'Antoni keeping him on the bench with his lack of depth at point guard. The former Sun has his biggest opportunity with the Lakers, but he's still only a pickup in deep leagues.

Thu Dec 19 201320:40Kendall Marshall to sign with the Lakers
The Lakers will sign Kendall Marshall to a contract, according to Yahoo Sports!
The Lakers are down to the likes of Jodie Meeks and Xavier Henry at point guard, so desperate times call for desperate measure here. Marshall has really struggled in scoring the ball at any almost level, shooting 37.1 percent from the field with the Suns last year. However, he's averaging 19.4 points, 9.6 assists and 1.9 steals in his nine games in the D-League this season. Coach Mike D'Antoni has helped create a lot of fantasy production for points guards, but Marshall is only worth a look in deep leagues for now.
