Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (shoulder) will not play against the Toronto Raptors on Monday night as a result of a shoulder contusion. Young has produced averages of 27.7 points, 9.3 assists 4.1 rebounds and a career-best 45 percent shooting from the field through 45 games this season, making the 23-year-old a must-start player across all fantasy formats. Hawks guards Lou Williams and Delon Wright will likely see increased minutes with the all-star point guard out of the lineup.

Sun Jan 30 202212:15Trae Young Cleared For Sunday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (hip) has been cleared to play for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. This is great news since Young has been on fire lately. Over the last six games, Young is averaging 27.2 points, 8.7 assists, and 4.7 rebounds with 1.7 steals. The uptick in steals is nice to see for a player who normally struggles on the defensive end. Fantasy managers should make sure Young is in their lineups for Sunday. He'll be a strong DFS option for Sunday's slate.

Sat Jan 1 202207:44Trae Young Collects 35 Points, 11 Assists Against Cavs
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young had a superb offensive game on Friday against Cleveland, racking up a team-high 35 points and dishing out 11 assists. He did it with 11-for-28 shooting from the field, which included a 5-for-12 effort from downtown. He recorded four rebounds and one steal with just one turnover in 42 minutes. In fact, the Hawks became just the sixth team in NBA history to finish a game with only two turnovers. Young had a huge December, averaging 30.5 points and 10 assists per game with 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals. He should get January off to a very productive start as well, with the first matchups being against Portland, Sacramento, two defensively-flawed teams.

Tue Dec 28 202106:42Trae Young Returns With 29 Points, Nine Assists
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young made his first appearance since Dec. 17 on Monday and had no issues logging 40 minutes in a loss to Chicago. His shooting was rusty, though, as Young went 8-for-23 from the field and 1-for-6 from outside on his way to finishing with 29 points and nine rebounds. He also pulled down one rebound and committed two turnovers. Young was in spectacular form before landing in health and safety protocols and this was a decent comeback effort if we ignore the shooting. He'll meet the Bulls again on Wednesday before closing out 2021 against Cleveland. Both matchups are pretty tough for point guards, but stopping Young is a pretty tough task for teams as well.

Mon Dec 27 202117:59Trae Young Cleared For Monday's Game
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young has cleared protocols ahead of Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls. That means, Young is back and is one of nine players available for Atlanta. That being said, Young will see all the minutes and shots he can handle on Monday. Fantasy managers should make sure he's back in their lineups for this game. Young should be a popular DFS option with the Hawks extremely shorthanded.

Mon Dec 27 202114:57Trae Young Has A Chance To Play Monday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young has provided one negative test, but needs to show one more before clearing protocols. That being said, Young has a chance to suit up for Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls. The first negative result has shown on Sunday, so Young might be able to provide another in time to play. His return would mean significantly less streaming appeal for Delon Wright. The absence of Young on Monday would make Wright another solid DFS option for Monday's slate. Fantasy managers are going to have to check back later in the day for another update.

Fri Dec 24 202114:28Trae Young Unlikely To Suit Up Saturday
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young is not expected to be cleared in time to take the floor for the Christmas Day matchup with the Knicks. Young's absence would be his third in a row, which would pave the way for Bogdan Bogdanovic and Delon Wright (ankle) to see big minutes totals. Young and the Knicks fans developed a banter last postseason, making the All-Star's return to Madison Square Garden one of the more captivating holiday hoops storylines. Young has gone for at least 25 points in each of his last 12 outings, averaging a gaudy 30.9 points and 9.4 assists in that stretch. His next best shot at suiting up comes Monday against Chicago.

Thu Dec 23 202118:13Trae Young, Lou Williams Remain Out Due To COVID Protocols
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young and shooting guard Lou Williams remain out for Thursday's contest against Philadelphia due to the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols. The Atlanta backcourt was thinned out Wednesday with Delon Wright and Bogdan Bogdanovic handling the vast majority of ball-handling duties. Young had been playing at an all-NBA level before being sidelined, having averaged 30.8 points and 9.9 assists across eight December contests. Williams remains a solid bench cog when available, with his absence allowing Cam Reddish to take on a significant increase in offensive duties. Check back for an update on when either member of the duo will be able to clear protocols.
