Tue Nov 23 202108:26Trae Young Drops 30 Points On Thunder
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young scored a game-high 30 points on 9-for-20 shooting in Monday's win over OKC. He was 5-for-9 with the three-ball and 7-for-7 at the foul line, bagging 21 of his points in the second half. Young produced six assists with two turnovers and picked up four rebounds and one steal in 32 minutes. His shooting can be streaky, but Young rarely disappoints and he came through with another good performance here. He should enjoy the next two matchups as well. Wednesday night, Atlanta faces a Spurs team that's giving up the 10th-most points in the league to point guards this season, and on Friday, Young can battle with Ja Morant and the Grizzlies, who allow a league-high 9.5 assists per 48 minutes to point guards.

Sun Nov 14 202120:57Trae Young Produces A Huge Performance Against Milwaukee
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young went off for 42 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists in Sunday's 120-100 win over the Bucks, helping the team end a six-game slide. He had 25 points in the first half alone and shot 16-for-26 from the field with an 8-for-13 record from downtown. Seven of Young's three-pointers came in the first half. He snapped up one steal as well and recorded five turnovers in 32 minutes. The Hawks have struggled lately but Young has pretty much gotten better with every game, notching at least 27 points in five straight outings. It seems unlikely that a poor Orlando squad can slow him down on Monday.

Sat Nov 13 202108:02Trae Young Scores Game-High 30 Points In Friday's Loss
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young notched a game-high 30 points on 9-for-16 shooting in Friday's losing effort against Denver, adding five rebounds and nine assists to his line with one steal and five turnovers. He finished 3-for-5 from downtown and shot 9-for-10 at the charity stripe. Young had a rough ride in October, but he's started the new month in very good scoring form and already boasts two 30-point outings in November. His form gets a big test next by elite defender Jrue Holiday and the Bucks. The defending champions have limited point guards to 41.6 percent shooting this season.

Wed Nov 10 202104:00Trae Young Continues Three-Point Shooting Uptick
In a 110-98 loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday, Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young couldn't do enough to prevent his team from losing their fifth game in a row. In 35 minutes, Young scored 27 points on 10-for-21 shooting to accompany six assists, a steal, and five three-pointers. He went 5-for-11 from behind the three-point line and now has at least four triples in three straight games. Before this stretch, his season-high in three-pointers was two, so clearly, something in his approach is changing for the better. Young is still a top-30 player in nine-category leagues, but he can get back into the top-20 if his three-point shot continues to fall as it has over the last three games.

Tue Nov 9 202103:57Trae Young Scores Efficient 28 points
On a night where Stephen Curry had 50 points, Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young did his best to keep up, but it wasn't enough in a blowout loss. The 23-year-old wasn't all that close to the two-time MVP, but he shot the ball well and seems to be turning a corner in that regard. In 32 minutes, Young had 28 points on 11-for-20 shooting, nine assists, three rebounds, a steal and four threes. The 55 percent field-goal rate marked the first time since the season's third game that Young made more than half his shots, and he's also drained four threes in back-to-back games. So if there was a buy-low window open for Young, it seems to be closing rapidly.

Sun Nov 7 202109:25Trae Young Drops 31 Points With 13 Dimes
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young was at his best as a scorer and playmaker in Saturday's loss to the Suns. Young was the engine of the Hawks' offense, pouring in 31 points and 13 assists in a season-high 39 minutes. The Oklahoma product hit on 10 of his 23 field-goal attempts and 4 of 9 threes while shooting an excellent 7-for-8 from the charity stripe. Young has had some inefficient shooting performances from the field lately but has made up for them with his work at the line, as he's drained 30 of his last 32 attempts from the free-throw line. Fantasy managers should expect another high-scoring effort from Young in what should be a fast-paced matchup on Monday against the Warriors.

Thu Nov 4 202107:51Trae Young Falls Shy Of A Triple-Double
In a 117-108 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta guard Trae Young wasn't particularly efficient, but he did get his numbers. The up-and-coming start went 6-for-22 from the floor but added 21 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds, and two three-pointers in 37 minutes. Despite missing the triple-double, it was still Young's fourth double-double of the young season. So if a Young manager is nervous, now is the time to trade for him. His field goal and three-point percentages sit at career lows, but it won't last for much longer. Once he starts to heat up, the buy-low window will slam shut for the remainder of the year.

Wed Nov 3 202119:11Trae Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic Available Wednesday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (knee) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (back), listed as probable, are available to play in Wednesday's game against the Nets. Young has been a little banged up to start the year, though it didn't affect him his last time out, as he dropped 26 points with six dimes while draining all 11 free throws. He should be a strong start for the fast-paced affair with Brooklyn. Meanwhile, Bogdanovic has started to pick up his game as of late, scoring at least 13 points on 54 percent shooting or better in each of his last three games while adding assists, steals, and three-pointers.

Tue Nov 2 202109:48Trae Young Scores 26 Points In Monday's Win
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young scored a game-high 26 points in the team's win over the Washington Wizards on Monday. He shot 7-for-16 from the field and was a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw strike. He hit one of his six three-point attempts and also added six rebounds, four assists and a steal while committing six turnovers. Young had really struggled shooting the ball over his previous two games, managing just 28 total points over the two-game stint. He's now averaging 22.9 points and 9.4 assists per game over seven games. Next up for Young and the Hawks is a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

Thu Oct 28 202118:36Bogdan Bogdanovic, Lou Williams Available Thursday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (shin) and guard Kevin Huerter (ankle), both listed as probable, are available for Thursday's game against the Wizards. Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) and Lou Williams (ankle) will also play. There was little doubt that these four would be able to suit up, so it's not particularly surprising to see that they'll take the court for a favorable matchup with Washington. Young is the center of the Hawks universe and should be treated as a must-start option whenever healthy. Bogdanovic, Huerter, and Williams have each played lesser roles to start the season- and are lukewarm options for fantasy purposes.

Thu Oct 28 202113:21Trae Young, Kevin Huerter Expected To Play
Atlanta Hawks guards Trae Young (shin) and Kevin Huerter (ankle) are both expected to play in Thursday's game against the Washington Wizards. Both players are listed as probable while dealing with minor injuries. Also, Lou Williams (ankle) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) are listed as questionable to suit up on Thursday. That means, Young and Huerter could be asked to shoot the ball more than normal. Fantasy managers should check back closer to game time for better information.

Tue Oct 26 202108:27Trae Young Drops 32 Points In Win Over Detroit
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young had his best game of the young season so far in the team's 122-104 win over the Detroit Pistons on Monday. The third-year pro shot 13-for-21 from the field and 4-for-4 from the line on the way to a game-high 32 points. He hit two three-pointers and also added nine assists, four rebounds and a steal while committing just two turnovers. Young had shot under 40% in each of his previous two games this year, so it was good to see him shoot the ball more efficiently on Monday. He'll look to build off this effort in his next game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.

Sat Oct 23 202121:25Trae Young Leads All Scorers With 24 Points
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young had a game-high 24 points on 8-for-22 shooting in Saturday's 101-95 loss to Cleveland. His shooting efficiency was dragged down by a poor performance from downtown as he finished 1-for-6 with the three-ball. Young handed out seven dimes, picked up three steals and recorded one rebound with two turnovers in 35 minutes. Atlanta's star man has shot below 40 percent in both of his appearances this season. He'll hope for a better night on Monday against a rebuilding Detroit side. Young torched the Pistons last season by averaging 33.5 points in two outings against them.

Fri Oct 22 202107:05Trae Young Starts Season With 19 Points, 14 Assists
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young opened the season with a 19-point, 14-assist effort in a 113-87 win over Dallas, shooting 6-for-16 from the field with a 2-for-5 mark from outside while hitting all of his five free throws. He added two rebounds to his tally and had one steal with five turnovers in 33 minutes. There are high hopes for the Hawks this season, and Young is expected to lead the charge. He could very well end up being a walking double-double since he's got a lot of passing options. Young is set for another nice performance this week, with the Hawks visiting Cleveland on Saturday. The Cavaliers had an awful start defensively, giving up over 130 points to the Grizzlies.

Fri Oct 8 202118:37Trae Young Doubtful For Saturday's Game
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (quad) has been labeled doubtful for the team's preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. Young is nursing a right quad contusion. It's not believed to be anything serious. The team is just being cautious with him. He has yet to play in a game this preseason. Fellow point guard Delon Wright (ankle) is also doubtful for the game and center Clint Capela (Achillles) has been ruled out. We could see rookie Sharife Cooper make his first start on Saturday. He'll be a sneaky DFS option for the contest as he's coming off of a solid game in which he scored nine points and added five assists and four rebounds over 17 minutes.

Wed Oct 6 202117:53Trae Young Ruled Out For Wednesday’s Game
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (quad) has been deemed unavailable to play in Wednesday's preseason contest against Cleveland. Young is battling a right quad contusion, with the Hawks having little reason to thrust their star point guard into action without him at 100 percent this early in the year. Delon Wright will draw the start in place of Young after the veteran dropped six points to go along with five assists in Atlanta's preseason opener vs. the Heat. Wright averaged vastly better numbers as a starter last season, with his 11.7 points, 5.5 assists and 5.1 rebounds per contest average making him an appealing DFS option for those playing preseason hoops. Young's ailment shouldn't be viewed as a regular-season setback in the slightest.

Thu Jul 8 202117:56McMillan looking for more success as Hawks' full-time coach
ATLANTA (AP) — Nate McMillan earned his deal as full-time coach of the Atlanta Hawks by leading the team to its first playoff appearance since 2017. The playoff run took the Hawks all the way to the Eastern Conference finals, and McMillan says he believes more success awaits the young team. “I am truly blessed to be able to lead this special group into the future,” McMillan said in a statement released by the team on Thursday, when his deal as full-time coach was made official. “I believe what we accomplished this season is just the beginning of what we can achieve if we stay connected and committed to each other.” McMillan's deal was formalized after general manager Travis Schlenk said Monday an agreement had been reached but the contract had not been drawn up. As interim coach, McMillan led the Hawks to an improbable run that changed the expectations for the young team. The Hawks were only 14-20 under former coach Lloyd Pierce, who along with Schlenk led the rebuilding effort. McMillan,... [More]
Mon Jul 5 202115:56Hawks reach agreement to make Nate McMillan full-time coach
ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk moved quickly to lock down Nate McMillan as the full-time coach, reaching an agreement to remove the interim tag only two days after team's season ended. The deal comes after McMillan, in his interim role, led the team to an improbable run to the Eastern Conference finals. Schlenk said Monday that “an agreement in place in principal” was reached earlier in the day with McMillan. “We’re just drawing up the contract,” Schlenk said. The team is expected to officially announce the deal on Tuesday. Details were not immediately available. McMillan, 56, was named interim coach after Lloyd Pierce was fired when the team had a 14-20 record. The Hawks enjoyed an immediate turnaround under McMillan. They played better late in games, protecting leads while posting a 27-11 mark that gave them the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. It was Atlanta's first playoff berth since 2017. The Hawks were underdogs in beating the New York Knicks... [More]

Sun Jul 4 202114:05Hawks look to bright future after surprising playoff run
ATLANTA (AP) — As the final seconds ticked off on a season that lasted far longer than anyone expected, the crowd rose to its feet to salute the home team. The Atlanta Hawks sure earned the cheers. Making an improbable turnaround from what looked like another lost year, the Hawks earned a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2017, knocked off the top-seeded team in the East, and made it all the way to the conference finals. The Cinderella run finally ended Saturday night with a 118-107 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, who won the series 4-2 and advanced to the NBA Finals to take on the Phoenix Suns. But the disappointing finish did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of a long-downtrodden franchise that seems poised for more long-term success than at any time since moving to Atlanta in 1968. “This is the beginning,” Trae Young said. “We have the city excited and we want to keep it like that.” The Hawks will likely bring back largely the same cast next season, though they do have two major...
