Tue Aug 7 201223:26Jazz expected to talk with Josh Howard
Utah is expected to re-engage their talks with Josh Howard.
Howard had an up-and-down year with Utah and had a tough time fending off injuries. He missed 23 games and logged 23.0 minutes per contest in his first campaign in Utah last season. If they do bring Howard back, it could get messy for fantasy with all the players on the wing vying for minutes. Alec Burks had a phenomenal Summer League and Utah acquired Marvin Williams via trade. The Wake Forest product is likely off the fantasy radar in 12-team drafts.

Josh Howard is expected to soon choose which team he'll sign with -- his options include the Jazz, Pacers, Warriors, Nets and Knicks.

Sun Jul 1 201210:14As least six teams interested in Josh Howard
Josh Howard is drawing interest from the Mavericks, Jazz, Lakers, Nets, Spurs and Celtics.
Howard played well enough with Utah last year to drum up considerable interest as a FA, despite his 39.9 percent shooting and continued injury woes. He'll likely fill a veteran bench role wherever he lands.

Thu Jun 21 201213:31Josh Howard 100 percent after surgery
Unrestricted free agent Josh Howard (knee surgery) is now 100 percent healthy.
Howard is fully recovered from the arthroscopic surgery he had during the regular season. This is an indication that he was playing at less than full health during the postseason, but anyone who watched him attempting to move around the court could have said the same thing. He'll draw some interest on the open market, but he's done nothing to quell concerns about his durability.

Wed Jun 6 201219:04Rumor: Josh Howard would love to play for GSW
Josh Howard would reportedly "love" to play for the Warriors.
This tidbit was "overheard in the NBA pre-draft combine lobby," so don't take it as a fact. Furthermore, the Warriors are eager to add a SG/SF through the draft, and Howard isn't an improvement over existing swingmen Dorell Wright, Richard Jefferson and (if they retain him) Brandon Rush.

Tue May 1 201216:59Josh Howard will start at SF in Game 2
Josh Howard will start at SF again on Wednesday, despite his poor play in Game 1.
The Jazz have admitted to being shocked by the intensity of the playoffs, and Utah's coaching staff is hopeful that Howard's experience will settle things down. They won't put a limit on his playing time, but if he struggles he could be yanked in favor of newly-minted backup DeMarre Carroll.

Tue May 1 201208:21Josh Howard likely to start Game 2 again
Josh Howard will "likely" start again in Game 2 against the Spurs.
Howard didn't score in Game 1 and missed all four of his shots in 16 minutes of action, but Tyrone Corbin likes his postseason experience. Howard could be on a short leash after DeMarre Carroll came off the bench for seven points and four rebounds in 22 minutes on Sunday.

Sun Apr 29 201215:37Josh Howard starts but goes scoreless vs. SAS
Josh Howard was scoreless in a start at SF for the Jazz on Sunday, missing all four of his shot attempts in 16 minutes.
Howard was very rusty, understandable given that he's only appeared in two games since hurting his knee in mid-March. DeMarre Carroll, whom Howard displaced in the starting five, came off the bench for seven points and four rebounds in 22 minutes. Utah will need more from both guys if they hope to upset the Spurs.

Thu Apr 26 201211:42Josh Howard likely to see more minutes Thurs.
Josh Howard is "likely" to see more minutes in Thursday's regular season finale.
Beat writer Brian Smith speculates that Tyrone Corbin could give his starters more rest than usual, but that's not set in stone. Howard will see more time as he prepares for the postseason, while Raja Bell (knee) is also a candidate to see an increase in minutes as well.

Tue Apr 24 201221:19Josh Howard could play on Tuesday
Josh Howard said prior to Tuesday's game that he expects to be active against the Suns.
Raja Bell could also be active, but is still in street clothes and hasn't warmed up. This could be Howard's first appearance since March 17 and he's coming off knee surgery, so we're not expecting much from him tonight.

Tue Apr 24 201212:43Howard, Bell both game-time decisions Tuesday
Updating a previous item, Josh Howard (knee) and Raja Bell (knee) will both be game-time decisions against the Suns on Tuesday.
Both veterans were considered "likely" to play, but even if each is active, it would be a major surprise to see a major role for either. They're not on the fantasy radar.

Josh Howard (knee) and Raja Bell (knee) went through a full practice on Monday and will "likely" be active on Tuesday against the Suns.
Neither veteran is expected to play much, but each has been getting healthier and will provide Utah with more depth on the wing as the Jazz gear up for a potential playoff push.

Mon Apr 16 201220:26Howard still on target for April 24 return
Josh Howard (knee) is still on target for an April 24 return.
This news won't impact many, if any fantasy leagues, but should the Jazz make it to the playoffs it will certainly be important to them.

Sun Apr 8 201212:23Howard targeting week of April 16 for return
Josh Howard (knee) is continuing rehab and is hoping to return during the week of April 16.
Howard said he doesn't want to end the season in a suit, but the Jazz won't rush him back before he's 100 percent healthy considering his injury history. Even if he does make it back before the campaign concludes, he's not going to make an impact for fantasy owners.

Fri Apr 6 201223:34Josh Howard will travel w/ team on road trip
Josh Howard, who has been out since Mar. 21 after undergoing surgery on his left knee, will travel with the team when they start a three-game road trip on Wednesday.
Howard has said all along that he hopes to return during the regular season, and this is a step in the right direction. Still, the chances of him returning and providing significant value this season are low, and he shouldn't be owned in fantasy leagues.

Tue Apr 3 201213:13Howard to ride stationary bike, lift weights
Josh Howard (knee) will ride the stationary bike and lift weights on Tuesday as he continues to recover from knee surgery.
This is part of the rehab process for Howard, who has previously done work on the stationary bike. He previously stated that a worst-case scenario would have him back for the playoffs, but players are often more optimistic than others when discussing their timetable to return. Howard remains out and the chances of him providing fantasy value in standard-sized leagues again this season are slim.
