Ronny Paulino has been shut down after bloodwork irregularities showed up from a recent physical.
He'll have a follow-up test Monday or Tuesday before the Mets decide what to do with him. GM Sandy Alderson said the irregularities are not performance enhancing drug-related. Paulino, of course, at the beginning of the season will serve the final eight games of his suspension for PED use.

The Mets expect Ronny Paulino to finally report to camp on Friday.
Paulino has been unable to leave his native Dominican Republic due to visa issues related to his 50-game suspension for PEDs. The Mets have announced a number of arrival dates for Paulino this spring, but they are apparently confident that he'll finally report to camp this weekend. We'll see about that. Paulino is expected to be the backup catcher for the Mets this season, but still has eight games left on his suspension from MLB.
