Sat Feb 1 201400:27Lavoy Allen double-doubles in decent effort
Lavoy Allen double-doubled off the bench in Friday's blowout loss, scoring 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting with 10 rebounds, one steal and one block in just 21 minutes.
Allen and Hollis Thompson (seven points, one three, one steal, 25 minutes) were possible replacements in the starting lineup for Spencer Hawes and James Anderson, and after getting throttled tonight it's fair to wonder if some sort of change is made. We don't expect big minute changes among this group, and even with this decent line owners can watch this action from the wire in the vast majority of formats.

Sat Jan 18 201423:24Allen (calf) plays on Saturday against CHI
Lavoy Allen (calf) played on Saturday against the Bulls, scoring six points on 3-of-7 shooting with three rebounds and two blocks in 15 minutes.
This isn't a bad line by Allen's standards and needless to say he needs to show a whole lot more before most owners should pay him any attention.

Sat Jan 18 201410:21Lavoy Allen (knee, calf) hopes to return Sat.
Lavoy Allen is dealing with a sore left knee in addition to his right calf injury, but he's hopeful to return vs. the Bulls on Saturday.
Allen said that he feels fine in half-court situations, but feels pain whenever he's asked to sprint. With Arnett Moultrie (ankle) nearing a return and Dewayne Dedmon fighting for another 10-day contract, there's no real upside for Allen's fantasy value.

Fri Jan 17 201411:34Lavoy Allen could suit up Friday vs Miami
Lavoy Allen (calf) is questionable for Friday's game against Miami.
Allen was spotted working out on the anti-gravity treadmill at Friday's practice, which could be an indicator that he's in line to play Friday night. We'll update Allen's status as it becomes available, but he does not warrant any attention from fantasy owners in anything bu the deepest of leagues.

Wed Jan 15 201412:35Lavoy Allen out again w/ strained calf
Lavoy Allen (strained calf) will not play on Wednesday.
He remains day-to-day but his availability doesn't have a major fantasy impact one way or the other. With Arnett Moultrie (ankle) also unavailable on Wednesday, the Sixers may give significant minutes to D-League callup Dewayne Dedmon.

Sat Jan 11 201410:24Lavoy Allen (calf) ruled out vs. NYK Saturday
Lavoy Allen (strained right calf) has been ruled out for Saturday's game.
The 76ers host the Knicks in the second game of a back-to-back set. Without Allen's help off the bench, they'll rely more on starters Spencer Hawes and Thaddeus Young, as well as backup PF Brandon Davies.

Fri Jan 10 201417:21Lavoy Allen won't play on Friday
Lavoy Allen (calf) will not play against the Pistons on Friday.
He suffered a calf injury earlier this week and missed some practice time. Allen played just 14.6 minutes per game over his last five, averaging 6.2 points and 3.8 boards per game. He has very little fantasy value.

Thu Jan 9 201413:50Lavoy Allen (calf) questionable to face DET
76ers big man Lavoy Allen is questionable for Friday's game due to a calf injury.
Allen has impressed coach Brett Brown with his steady improvement this season, but his averages of 5.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 0.5 blocks make him a non-entity in standard fantasy leagues. The timing of his calf injury is poor since Philly is about to play the Pistons' frontcourt on Friday.

Sun Jan 5 201413:3876ers coach pleased w/ Lavoy Allen
76ers coach Brett Brown is pleased with the recent play of backup center Lavoy Allen, who has reportedly lost 10 pounds.
Allen scored 13 points in 16 minutes on Wednesday and has slowly clawed his way back into the frontcourt picture for Philly. "He's just been solid," Brown said. "His mobility is up." Allen's size gives the Sixers a different look against guys like DeMarcus Cousins and Roy Hibbert, but he's not a fantasy option and his role will be further endangered once Arnett Moultrie (ankle) is healthy enough to play.

Sat Nov 23 201322:10Lavoy Allen quiet for short-handed 76ers
Lavoy Allen played 26 minutes while navigating foul trouble in a rare start on Saturday, finishing with four points, nine rebounds and two blocks.
He started because Spencer Hawes was out with a sore knee, but with Hawes day-to-day it's hard to recommend Allen outside of deep leagues, even as a temporary pickup. It doesn't help that Hawes has three full days to recover before Philly's next game in Orlando on Wednesday.

Sat Nov 23 201300:40Lavoy Allen nears double-double
Lavoy Allen scored nine points on 4-of-6 shooting with eight rebounds, three assists and one block in 34 minutes off the bench in Friday's overtime win.
This is Allen's best outing of the year (with Thad Young out) and that pretty much tells his story, but if he can string something together we'll let you know.

Sat Oct 19 201313:40Lavoy Allen misses Saturday practice
Lavoy Allen overslept and missed practice on Saturday.
Initial reports on Twitter that Allen was missing from practice generated some concern that his knee injury is more serious than thought. Sounds like Allen simply needs more practice with alarm clocks. Coach Brown said he would "handle the situation," but this certainly won't help Allen to earn the starting spot at power forward.

Mon Oct 14 201310:33Brown: Lavoy Allen must lose 8-10 pounds
76ers coach Brett Brown said that Lavoy Allen must lose 8 to 10 pounds before his role on the team can be clarified.
Brown wants Allen to be "more mobile," which is reminiscent of former coach Doug Collins' constant demand for more energy and hustle. Allen's ability to lose weight has been complicated by a recent knee injury, though it doesn't seem serious enough to keep him on the sidelines much longer.

Sun Oct 6 201309:46Lavoy Allen will sit in preseason opener
Lavoy Allen (knee) will not play in the Sixers preseason opener, but he's expected to play Tuesday vs. OKC.
This is just a precautionary move to let the big man rest his knees. "We are just trying to be smart," coach Brett Brown said Sunday morning. "As long as we get one game out of him [during the two-game European trip], give little bit more time and try to let him play against OK City."

Tue Oct 1 201309:39Lavoy Allen participates in scrimmages
Lavoy Allen participated in scrimmages for the first time after missing the first two days of training camp with a knee injury.
Spencer Hawes twisted his knee in warm-ups, and although the tweak seems rather minor, if Hawes were to miss time, Allen could potentially pick up his minutes.

Mon Apr 22 201308:46Lavoy Allen admits he could have done better
Lavoy Allen admitted he "didn't have a really good year" during his sophomore season.
Allen had his first child three days into training camp which may have had an impact on him throughout the season. "Up and down," Allen added. He averaged 5.8 points and 5.0 rebounds, but he drew consistent ire from Doug Collins for not playing with the aggression he needed to. He's under contract for $3.1 million next season.

Thu Apr 11 201309:28Collins wants Lavoy Allen to play with energy
Doug Collins wants Lavoy Allen to play "with motor."
"We need him. Our big guys are so important to us. He can shoot. He has a good feel for the game. With Lavoy, it's never just about the talent." This is the umpteenth time Collins has made a comment like this about Allen, who promised to be "more focused" and to get in "better shape" for next season.

Sun Mar 31 201311:30Lavoy Allen earn praise for his hustle
Doug Collins praised Lavoy Allen for his energy and hustle in recent games.
"I expected more out of Lavoy this year because of the way he finished [last season]," said Collins. "I tell [Allen and rookie Arnett Moultrie] to watch a guy like [Kenneth] Faried from Denver and look at a tape of him and how he runs the floor every possession." The Manimal's energy is a high bar for any big man, but it's nice to see Allen ending the season on a high note.

Fri Mar 29 201320:31LaVoy Allen sprains ankle, return is probable
LaVoy Allen suffered a right ankle sprain and is expected to return to Friday's game.
He got his ankle re-taped and we'll see how it responds for the rest of the game. Allen has played 16.9 minutes per game in the last 10 games and doesn't have much fantasy value while Spencer Hawes is playing well.

Mon Mar 25 201300:0276ers win w/ Lavoy Allen's 20 points
The 76ers won in Sacramento with a boost from Lavoy Allen, who scored a season-high 20 points off the bench on 9-of-13 shooting, with seven rebounds and one assist.
Just how unexpected was Allen's outburst? He was averaging 0.6 points in his previous three games and hadn't scored more than five points in a game all month. The Sixers had a ridiculous 96 shot attempts vs. the Kings tonight, on their way to 117 points, and this has all the makings of a fluke.
