Sat Aug 5 202323:55Tyrese Maxey Contract Extension On Hold
According to 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, the franchise will wait before offering a contract extension to guard Tyrese Maxey. While Morey is high on the 2020 first-round pick, "the quirk of the CBA" will allow Philly to add "a significant player next year" before the club turns its attention to him. Maxey averaged a career-high 20.3 points and 43.4% shooting from deep last season, so the team wants to keep him on the roster for a long time. But from a fantasy standpoint, the 22-year-old should be a reliable option for many seasons to come, even though he still has plenty to work on moving forward.

Mon Jul 3 202310:11Tyrese Maxey Off The Table In Sixers Trade Talks
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is set to stay put for the 2023-24 season, with reports saying that the team isn't interested in any trades involving him. "Maxey is not available in any trade conversations, according to one team source, with the Sixers adamant that the speedy guard is a significant part of their future and thus not available any scenarios," writes NBA insider Marc Stein on Substack. The 22-year-old had a fantastic campaign in 2022-23 and looks to take a step further in his development next season. He could end up running the Sixers backcourt all on his own, depending on how things around James Harden and his trade request work out.

Fri Jun 30 202315:38Tyrese Maxey Unlikely To Get Extension This Summer
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey has been an up-and-coming star over the past couple of seasons and his next payday should be a big one. According to Kyle Neubeck of The Philly Voice, however, that extension won't likely be coming this offseason. While Daryl Morey and company figure out how to flip James Harden and Tobias Harris into more assets, they're most likely going to wait to give Maxey more money so that they have a little more flexibility. Next season is the last year of his rookie deal which is worth only $4.3 million.

Mon May 15 202311:10Tyrese Maxey Ends Season With A 17-Point Effort
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had 17 points on 5-for-12 shooting when the team was picked apart by the Celtics in Sunday's Game 7. Maxey added three rebounds and four assists, and he was likely the only Sixer satisfied with his efforts in the horrible 112-88 blowout loss. The young guard had a career year in 2022-23, averaging 20.3 points per game, and he could become an even bigger piece for Philadelphia next season if James Harden decides to move on. Maxey upped his scoring average to 24.8 and had 5.4 assists in games without Harden this season.

Fri May 12 202309:44Tyrese Maxey Shines In Game 6
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey stepped up and provided a huge boost for the team during Thursday's Game 6 against the Boston Celtics. Similar to Game 5, Maxey was seemingly knocking down everything, but it didn't result in a win on Thursday. He finished with 26 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the Game 6 loss. The Sixers will now head to Boston for a Game 7. They've already won twice in Boston, but will can they do it a third time and earn themselves a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals?

Tue May 9 202322:31Tyrese Maxey Has Stellar Showing In Game 5
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had a big night in the win over Boston on Tuesday. He finished with 30 points, shooting 10-for-21 from the field and 6-for-12 from deep while adding seven rebounds and three assists. The 22-year-old scored 14 points or less in the last three games, so his performance in Game 5 was welcomed by DFS managers. However, despite Maxey's stellar showing, he remains a risky DFS option for Game 6 on Thursday night, especially if his rostering cost increases.

Fri May 5 202323:58Tyrese Maxey Has A Rough Shooting Night On Friday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey finished with 13 points in Friday's playoff loss to Boston. In all fairness, James Harden also struggled offensively, with both starting guards combining for a rough 7-for-30 shooting from the field and 5-for-16 shooting from deep. After Maxey scored 26 points in Game 1, he has cooled off significantly over the last two games. As long as Joel Embiid is on the floor, Maxey's fantasy potential isn't nearly as high, which is something fantasy managers should consider for Game 4 on Sunday.

Thu May 4 202309:19Tyrese Maxey Settles For 13 Points In Game 2 Against Boston
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had 13 points during the team's lethargic performance in Wednesday's Game 2 against Boston. He shot a decent 6-for-14 from the field but continued to struggle from three-point range, going 1-for-4. Maxey is now shooting just 23.5 percent from downtown across the last three games. He played 30 minutes in the blowout loss and finished his line with three rebounds, three assists and one block. This was a horror show for Philadelphia from start to finish, but the team now returns home and should feel a lot more comfortable in front of its fans. However, it might not be the case with Maxey, who's had much better shooting splits on the road this season.

Mon May 1 202322:10Tyrese Maxey Has Big Night On Monday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey scored 26 points in Monday's playoff victory over the Boston Celtics. He also had four steals. The 22-year-old averaged 21.8 points during the series against the Brooklyn Nets, so he had no trouble staying hot in this one. Of course, Joel Embiid (knee) wasn't available, meaning Maxey was afforded additional opportunities on the offensive end. If Embiid is back on the floor on Wednesday evening, Maxey should see significantly fewer than the 24 field goal attempts he had in Game 1. But if Embiid can't play, Maxey should be a lock in DFS contests.

Tue Apr 18 202308:08Tyrese Maxey Shines In Game 2 Victory With 33 Points
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey starred in Game 2 of the first-round series against Brooklyn, leading all scorers with a 33-point effort in a 96-84 win. He shot 13-for-23 in the slow-burning game with a 6-for-13 effort from deep. Maxey showed great composure by posting zero turnovers in 40 minutes and registered three rebounds with one block. This was a big improvement from a 13-point effort Maxey had in Game 1. With Joel Embiid and James Harden drawing a lot of focus, Maxey is getting plenty of open looks and finds himself in a great situation to put up big numbers.

Fri Apr 7 202316:06James Harden And Tyrese Maxey Getting A Rest Night
Philadelphia 76ers guards James Harden and Tyrese Maxey will both receive a rest night against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. They'll most likely get another rest day for their final game after this as well, but if there are any fantasy managers still in their championship game, then the bench players are calling. Since De'Anthony Melton is doubtful, Shake Milton, Danuel House Jr., and even Furkan Korkmaz could be seeing some extra minutes on the court.

Thu Apr 6 202312:50Tyrese Maxey Is Questionable On Thursday Versus Miami
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (neck) has been tagged as questionable for their game on Thursday against the Miami Heat. Right now, the 76ers have clinched the third seed in the East, so at some point, we could start to see more of the starting five getting some rest days. Maxey's questionable status will likely go until warmups to see how he feels, so fantasy managers will want to at least check back then. If he can't play, depending on De'Anthony Melton's (calf) status, Shake Milton would be a solid streaming option.

Tue Mar 28 202309:28Tyrese Maxey Leads Sixers Offense With 29 Points
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had his sixth consecutive 20-point outing Monday against Denver, finishing a 116-111 loss with a game-high 29 points. Both Joel Embiid (calf) and James Harden (Achilles) sat out the contest, which gave all the keys to the offense to Maxey, who finished with 12-for-21 shooting and nailed two of six attempts from deep. Across 34 minutes of action, the 22-year-old added four rebounds, five assists and three steals. Maxey has done superbly since getting back into the start unit, but a lot of the recent games have been played without Harden and his eventual return will have a big impact on how things work in Philadelphia. According to reports, the Beard plans to be back in action later this week.

Sun Mar 26 202311:49Tyrese Maxey Shines With 37 Points Against The Suns
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had a fantastic outing with a game-high 37 points in Saturday's 125-105 loss to Phoenix. Most of the Sixers players had trouble performing on the second night of a back-to-back, but Maxey was superb throughout the contest, shooting 14-for-19 from the field and 7-for-11 from downtown. In 36 minutes on the court, he was also able to collect seven rebounds, three assists and one steal. Maxey has now scored 20-plus points in six of his last seven appearances. He's had a larger role on offense due to James Harden (Achilles) sitting out games with an injury. De'Anthony Melton is also benefiting from Harden's absence, although he's had a couple of poor games on the bounce now.

Sun Mar 19 202312:03Tyrese Maxey Puts Up 31 Points Saturday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had one of his best games of the season Saturday versus Indiana, finishing a 141-121 victory with 31 points on 12-for-18 shooting. He has scored more points on only three occasions this season. Maxey wasn't all about scoring either, notching two rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 35 minutes. He was also on fire from downtown, hitting 5-for-9 from three-point range. Maxey's performance on Saturday was helped by the team's decision to rest James Harden (foot). He had an impressive scoring tear at the start of the month, but the ball stays in Harden's hands a lot of times and Joel Embiid is the main man in attack, so Maxey doesn't have a chance to shine every night.

Sun Jan 22 202309:27Tyrese Maxey Leads Sixers To Victory Saturday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey marked his return to the starting lineup on Saturday with a game-high 32 points in a 129-127 victory over Sacramento. He shot 12-for-29 from the field and 2-for-8 from behind the arc, adding three rebounds and six assists in 41 minutes. Maxey took the reins offensively after Joel Embiid (foot) and James Harden (foot) were ruled out for the contest. The 22-year-old is averaging 22.5 points and 4.3 assists this season as a starter and will hope to fight back his place. Before taking Harden's spot in the starting unit Saturday, Maxey had come off the bench in three straight games. He's been getting 14.8 points off the pine and can still have value as a bench contributor, but starter's minutes put Maxey in a much better position to perform.

Wed Jan 4 202319:03Tyrese Maxey Returns To Starting Five
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (foot) will move back into the starting five for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers. Maxey will make his first start since returning from his injured foot. He's likely starting because center Joel Embiid (foot) is out, so the Sixers want to get a boost on offense. It's unknown if Maxey will move back to the bench after this game. Regardless, he should continue to carry reliable fantasy value whether it's in the starting five or off the bench.

Sat Dec 31 202219:32Tyrese Maxey Unavailable On Saturday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (rest) won't suit up for Saturday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The young guard played for the first time in a month and a half on Friday. Understandably, the Sixers are going to take the cautious approach and rest Maxey in the second leg of this back-to-back set. Fellow guard James Harden (rest) will also be sidelined during this contest. That means, Shake Milton and De'Anthony Melton are going to play big roles on Saturday. Both players are looking like excellent fantasy options with two of the Sixers' starters sidelined.

Fri Dec 30 202219:17Tyrese Maxey Faces Minutes Limit In Return Friday
Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey (foot) will suit up for the first time since Nov. 18 on Friday against New Orleans, but fantasy managers shouldn't anticipate a full workload. Head coach Doc Rivers wouldn't say exactly how many minutes the 22-year-old would draw, but it will be far from his 36.4 average across his first 15 contests this season. Even with a capped minutes total, Shake Milton and De'Anthony Melton figure to have their minutes and ballhandling duties cut into by Maxey's return. Season-long managers can begin to play Maxey again, while DFS managers will want to hold off until his minutes find their level.

Fri Dec 30 202216:24Tyrese Maxey Listed As Probable To Return On Friday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (foot) has been given the probable status to make his return from an 18-game absence after fracturing his left foot in a mid-November game against the Milwaukee Bucks. This will be the first time the Sixers will have all three of their core starters together since October 29th. With Maxey coming back to claim his minutes again, Shake Milton and De'Anthony Melton will take a hit to their fantasy value. Milton more so taking the brunt of that one.
