Sam Freeman will not appear in any more Arizona Fall League games due to mild left bicep tendinitis.
Cardinals farm director John Vuch said the tendinitis is not a big deal, but there's no reason to push the young left-hander. Freeman posted a 5.40 ERA with 18 strikeouts over 20 innings for the Cards this season and will try to win a spot in the bullpen next spring.

Cardinals reliever Sam Freeman (oblique) has been placed on the 7-day minor league disabled list.
Freeman is behind only Marc Rzepczynski and Barret Browning as the Cardinals' primary left-handed specialists. If healthy, he remains a lock to be promoted when rosters expand. Freeman is posting a 1.77 ERA in 40 minor league appearances.

Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Cardinals will recall Sam Freeman from Triple-A Memphis before Friday's game.
It will be Freeman's major league debut when he gets into a game, as he was just called up to Memphis a couple weeks ago. The southpaw holds a 2.31 ERA and 17/8 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A this season while holding left-handed batters to a .179 average. He'll give the Cards another lefty in the bullpen alongside Marc Rzepczynski.
