Thu Apr 14 201601:07Marlins' failure to sweep Mets disappoints Mattingly
NEW YORK -- A good series against the New York Mets failed to turn into a perfect one Wednesday afternoon for the Miami Marlins.Left-hander Adam Conley struck out a career-high nine over six innings, but the Marlins left nine runners on base and their attempt to sweep the three-game series from the Mets fell by the wayside in a 2-1 loss at Citi Field.Mets starter Logan Verrett matched Conley by throwing six innings of shutout ball, yet the Marlins had plenty of opportunities against the right-hander. Conley failed to get down bunts with a runner on first in the third and fifth, second baseman Dee Gordon hit into his first-ever 3-6-3 double play in the third, and Martin Prado and Justin Bour struck out with two runners on in the fourth. The Marlins loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh against right-hander Jim Henderson, but Hansel Robles struck out Miguel Rojas and pinch hitter Derek Dietrich before eventual winning pitcher Jerry Blevins retired Gordon on a fly to left. The Mets broke... 3B Martin Prado had hits in his first two at-bats Thursday, including a two-run single in the first inning. Prado is off to a solid start this year, hitting .308, and he also seems to play well against the Nationals.
Sun Oct 4 201513:52Prado out of lineup Sunday against Phillies
Prado is out of the lineup Sunday against the Phillies, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
The Marlins are simply giving Prado the afternoon off with a day game following a night game. The 31-year-old Prado had a typically solid season for the Marlins (.288/.338/.394 batting line over 551 plate appearances), but it's unclear if he fits into the rebuilding team's long-term plans.

Prado went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and two runs in Friday's win over Atlanta.
Prado has been slapping the ball all over the field as of late, batting .379 with a .426 OBP over the past month. Though never much of a power threat, Prado has hit four homers and driven in 20 runs over the same span. Given his versatility in most leagues, he should be a no-brainer for inclusion in your lineup.
Fri Sep 25 201515:37Prado (wrist) back in lineup Friday against Braves
Prado (wrist) is back in the lineup Friday against the Braves.
Prado was held out of the lineup six straight games with a wrist injury, but he was able to serve as a pinch-hitter Thursday and is back in the lineup Friday. He'll serve as the third baseman and bat third.

Prado (wrist) is without a targeted return date as he attempts to work his way back from an injury that has held him out of the lineup since last Friday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
The team has not provided much information about Prado since noting that X-rays on the risk came back clean, but Manager Dan Jennings failed to provide optimism for Prado's return during a recent session with the media. The veteran will continue to be considered day-to-day, but a return to the lineup does not appear imminent.
Tue Sep 22 201516:59Martin Prado: (Wrist) Out Tuesday
Prado (wrist) remains out of the lineup Tuesday against the Phillies.
A left wrist injury resulted in Prado's scratch from Friday's lineup and is now set to cost him a third straight start. X-rays on the wrist were negative, but there was talk of an MRI if Prado didn't show improvement upon the team's return to Miami. It's uncertain if Prado has actually undergone additional testing. Donovan Solano gets the start at third base Tuesday.

Prado is out of the lineup Saturday against the Nationals due to a left wrist injury, MLB.com's Jacob Emert reports.
Prado was scratched from Friday's lineup due to the issue, which doesn't appear to be severe after a follow-up X-ray showed nothing alarming. Still, Prado was spotted with a brace on the wrist Saturday, so he'll need to show improvement over the weekend or else receive an MRI for further clarity when the team returns to Miami. Derek Dietrich will pick up a second consecutive start at third base in place of Prado.
Fri Sep 18 201517:01Prado scratched from Friday's lineup against Nationals
Prado was scratched from Friday's lineup against the Nationals, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Prado was initially slated to serve his usual third base duties and bat third, but a late lineup change has Derek Dietrich sliding over the third with Marcell Ozuna now in the lineup instead. It's unclear exactly why the change was made, but further news on the situation should become available.

Prado went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in a 6-4 win over the Nationals on Thursday.
That is now back-to-back games with a home run for Prado and he seems to be salvaging his season in the second half. Prado now has a surprising .287 average , but a lackluster .396 slugging percentage. With his multi-position eligibility, Prado is a fringe player in deep mixed leagues. If you're in need of a boost in average, Prado could be a nice add for the final few weeks of the season.
Thu Sep 17 201500:24Prado 2-5 with eighth homer against Mets on Wednesday
Prado went 2-for-5 with his eighth homer against the Mets on Wednesday.
The veteran third baseman had been hitting .370 in the month of September coming in, but hadn't yet gone long. Of course, he's not known for his power or speed contributions, but Prado's been legitimately helpful in batting average and RBI in the second half as a whole.
Thu Sep 10 201500:48Prado 2-4 with double and three RBI against Brewers on Wednesday
Prado went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI against the Brewers on Wednesday.
Prado's been a surprising RBI machine lately -- over the last nine games, he's driven in 10 runs without the benefit of a single homer. It's hard to expect him to keep this up, but Prado does typically occupy a prime position in the middle of the Marlins' lineup, and Dee Gordon and Christian Yelich have been getting on base prolifically at the top of the order.
Sat Sep 5 201501:33Prado 5-6 with run scored and two RBI in Marlins' win over Mets ...
Prado was 5-for-6 with a run scored and two RBI in the Marlins' win over the Mets in 11 innings Friday night.
It was a career-high five hit game, including a run scoring double in the 11th inning to provide Miami with a walk-off win. Prado is hitting a solid .284, but has just seven home runs and 47 RBI so his value is somewhat limited in most fantasy formats.
Mon Aug 31 201523:12Prado 2-4 with RBI and run scored in 4-0 victory over Braves on ...
Prado was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a 4-0 victory over the Braves on Monday.
Prado has been hot with the bat of late, posting multi-hit performances in four of his last eight games and hitting safely in nine of his last 10 contests overall. The third baseman has hit .342 (13-for-38) over that span with three doubles, two homers and five RBI. Although he is performing below his career numbers in several offensive categories in 2015, the 31-year-old veteran has turned in a relatively solid campaign starting at the hot corner for the Marlins.
Thu Aug 27 201512:57Prado homered for sixth time during Wednesday's loss to Pirates
Prado homered for the sixth time during Wednesday's loss to the Pirates.
Prado's power has taken a step back this season as he's provided a mediocre .270/.316/.364 slash over 428 plate appearances. He's at risk to finish with a slugging percentage below .400 for the first time since 2011 and could struggle to reach double digit home runs, a feat he's accomplished in each of his last six seasons. While Prado's versatility and steady defense will keep him in the lineup, he's not a particularly exciting fantasy option.

Prado provided a two-run homer, a sacrifice fly, two walks and two runs in four plate appearances Thursday against the Phillies.
Prado is pretty much the exact opposite of a three-true-outcomes hitter, so it's funny to see him have a three-true-outcomes day, as his lone out came via whiff. The homer was Prado's first in more than two months, dating back to the first half of June -- a highlight of his lack of fantasy-friendly productivity.
Sun Aug 16 201512:59Prado out of lineup Sunday against Cardinals
Prado is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
Prado will receive a day off for the first time in 27 games, paving the way for Miguel Rojas to pick up a rare start at third base. Though he's only produced 15 doubles and four homers on the season, Prado continues to uphold a respectable .272 batting average, which has been good enough for him to occupy the cleanup spot of late in a pitiful Marlins lineup.
Sun Jul 19 201510:23Prado 3-4 Saturday with two doubles and RBI
Prado went 3-for-4 Saturday with two doubles and an RBI.
After taking an ohfer in his first game off the DL on Friday, Prado quickly shook off the rust. He figures to get a long run at second base while Dee Gordon (thumb) is on the shelf, and should once again head into 2016 with dual position eligibility at second and third.
