3B Martin Prado continues to excel early in the season. He had two hits for the second game in a row and has a hit in five games in a row against the Nationals. Prado is hitting .353.

3B Martin Prado had hits in his first two at-bats Thursday, including a two-run single in the first inning. Prado is off to a solid start this year, hitting .308, and he also seems to play well against the Nationals.

Prado is out of the lineup Sunday against the Phillies, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

The Marlins are simply giving Prado the afternoon off with a day game following a night game. The 31-year-old Prado had a typically solid season for the Marlins (.288/.338/.394 batting line over 551 plate appearances), but it's unclear if he fits into the rebuilding team's long-term plans.

Prado went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and two runs in Friday's win over Atlanta.

Prado has been slapping the ball all over the field as of late, batting .379 with a .426 OBP over the past month. Though never much of a power threat, Prado has hit four homers and driven in 20 runs over the same span. Given his versatility in most leagues, he should be a no-brainer for inclusion in your lineup.

Prado was scratched from Friday's lineup due to the issue, which doesn't appear to be severe after a follow-up X-ray showed nothing alarming. Still, Prado was spotted with a brace on the wrist Saturday, so he'll need to show improvement over the weekend or else receive an MRI for further clarity when the team returns to Miami. Derek Dietrich will pick up a second consecutive start at third base in place of Prado.

Prado's been a surprising RBI machine lately -- over the last nine games, he's driven in 10 runs without the benefit of a single homer. It was a career-high five hit game, including a run scoring double in the 11th inning to provide Miami with a walk-off win. Prado is hitting a solid .284, but has just seven home runs and 47 RBI so his value is somewhat limited in most fantasy formats.

Prado has been hot with the bat of late, posting multi-hit performances in four of his last eight games and hitting safely in nine of his last 10 contests overall. The third baseman has hit .342 (13-for-38) over that span with three doubles, two homers and five RBI. Although he is performing below his career numbers in several offensive categories in 2015, the 31-year-old veteran has turned in a relatively solid campaign starting at the hot corner for the Marlins.

Prado's power has taken a step back this season as he's provided a mediocre .270/.316/.364 slash over 428 plate appearances. He's at risk to finish with a slugging percentage below .400 for the first time since 2011 and could struggle to reach double digit home runs, a feat he's accomplished in each of his last six seasons. While Prado's versatility and steady defense will keep him in the lineup, he's not a particularly exciting fantasy option.
