RHP R.A. Dickey was working on a potential shutout on Sunday when he gave up a three-run, pinch-hit homer to Tyler Moore in the seventh inning. Dickey, who was leading 1-0 at the time, threw 96 pitches in seven innings, allowing five hits, three walks, one hit batter and three runs. He got little run support and still could have won the game if not for the pitch to Moore.

RHP R.A. Dickey (quad) suffered a spasm while running the bases Thursday in the fourth inning of the Braves' 7-5 win over the Mets. Dickey stayed in the game long enough to qualify for the win -- he allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings -- before manager Brian Snitker pinch-hit for him in the top of the sixth. Snitker said he expected Dickey to be able to make his next start as scheduled on Tuesday. Dickey, who had an RBI groundout in the second inning, pitched at Citi Field on Thursday for the first time since he won the National League Cy Young Award for the Mets in 2012. He is 2-2 with a 3.80 ERA in four starts this season.
Thu Apr 27 201716:17Mets' Cespedes injures hamstring, exits vs. Braves
NEW YORK -- New York Mets left fielder Yoenis Cespedes exited Thursday's game against the Atlanta Braves in the fourth inning after aggravating a left hamstring injury while rounding first base on a double.Cespedes laced an R.A. Dickey offering to deep center but hopped in pain about one-third of the way between first and second base. He was able to hobble into second base before crouching down in pain.Manager Terry Collins and trainer Ray Ramirez immediately came out to tend to Cespedes, who walked slowly off the field. Upon reaching the first-base line, Cespedes put his left arm around the shoulder of first base coach Tom Goodwin and relied on Goodwin and Ramirez to help him into the dugout. The Mets announced a few minutes later that Cespedes had sustained a left hamstring pull. It is the second hamstring injury in a week for Cespedes, who said he felt a "shock" in his hamstring while running to second base against the Philadelphia Phillies last Thursday.Cespedes missed the weekend series against the Washington Nationals and returned to the lineup Wednesday, following an off day on Monday and a rainout Tuesday.Since Cespedes was acquired on July 31, 2015, the Mets are 114-82 when he is in the lineup and 18-27 when he is not.

RHP R.A. Dickey will return to a familiar mound on Thursday afternoon when he starts for the Braves in the finale of a two-game series against the New York Mets at Citi Field. It will be Dickey's first appearance at Citi Field since he won the National League Cy Young Award in his final season with the Mets in 2012. Following the season, Dickey was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in a package that sent three players to New York -- including RHP Noah Syndergaard, who will oppose Dickey on Thursday afternoon. Dickey took the loss in his most recent start despite giving up three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings as the Braves fell to Washington 3-2. RHP R.A. Dickey (0-1, 4.76 ERA) hopes for better defense support as he makes his second start for Atlanta on Saturday at home against the San Diego. Three of the six runs the veteran knuckleball pitcher allowed in 5 2/3 innings against the Pirates last weekend were unearned thanks to two errors and three passed balls. Dickey had a rough interleague outing against the Padres last season while with Toronto, giving up seven runs (six earned) in 5 1/3 innings in a loss. RHP R.A. Dickey, by all accounts, had his knuckleball really moving in his Atlanta debut. He took the loss allowing six runs (three earned) on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings, with four strikeouts and four walks. Eight of the hits were singles. "It's not like I was giving up missles in the gaps. I felt pretty in control. It was moving well and late, which is good this early in the season," he said.
Sat Apr 8 201704:40RHP R.A. Dickey will make Braves debut day later than expected
RHP R.A. Dickey will make his Braves debut a day later than expected. Dickey was scheduled to start Friday in the opener of a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but with the forecasts calling for temperatures in the 30s and snow, Braves manager swapped Dickey with Saturday's scheduled pitcher, RHP Mike Foltynewicz, because he felt the hard-throwing Foltynewicz would fare better on a cold day than the knuckleballer Dickey. The Braves signed Dickey to a one-year deal in November after he went 10-15 with a 4.46 ERA in 30 games (29 starts) with the Toronto Blue Jays.

RHP R.A. Dickey took a tough loss despite allowing one run and four hits in five innings at Yankee Stadium. He has allowed one earned run in two of his past three starts, and he held to Yankees to 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position. "I felt as strong as I have ever felt with the ball in my hand," Dickey said. "The last three or four months felt like I've always been just a click away from turning out really good outings. It was unfortunate tonight that I gave up the run."
