Pierce's coach, Randy Wittman, believes that the veteran forward will return to the Wizards next season, The Washington Post reports.

Pierce has a player option for next season worth nearly $6 million, but it remains to be seen whether Pierce will exercise the option and return for an 18th NBA season. Wittman was quoted as saying, "I think he wants to be back...I won't put words in his mouth, but I'd be surprised if he didn't." Pierce was non-committal about a return following Friday's loss to Atlanta, but he has some time before making his final decision.

Pierce hit a potential game-tying shot as the buzzer expired that would have put the Wizards in overtime, but had the shot waived as it was deemed to be released after the buzzer had sounded. He finished the game with just four points, five rebounds, one steal, and one block in 24 minutes of action in Game 6.

Pierce did everything he could to keep the Wizards alive, but unfortunately, they fell to the Hawks and will head to the offseason early. Still, Pierce looked quite rejuvenated this postseason, and it's encouraging to see the veteran still play at a high level.

Pierce scored 22 points (8-13 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 1-2 Ft) to go along with five rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 33 minutes in Game 4 Monday against the Hawks.

Pierce followed up his game winning shot in Game 3 with a big performance from behind the arc in Game 4. The Wizards didn't play Pierce a ton in the regular season to try and keep him fresh for the playoffs and it has worked so far. Continue to expect Pierce to be one of the Wizards' main offensive weapons for however long John Wall (wrist) is out.

Pierce had a nerve in his back act up during the first half of Saturday's Game 3 win, the AP reports. He was able to play through the issue in the second half and scored the game-winning shot as time expired.

Pierce played 26 minutes Saturday after played 31 and 35 minutes in games 1 and 2, respectively. While it seems Pierce will be fine going forward, if you're choosing between Pierce and another option for daily games, his back issue might be reason enough to consider other options that are similarly priced.

Pierce, who was inefficient throughout the game, turned hero, hitting the game winner as time expired Saturday, ending with 13 points (5-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt), seven rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes.

Pierce has now reached double digit scoring in all seven playoff appearances, averaging 15.6 points, 3.6 three-pointers, and 4.0 rebounds in the seven playoff games so far. He's been a different player than what we saw for big stretches of the regular season, playing as a stretch four, and his consistent output, despite limited playing time is making him an affordable option for daily fantasy leagues.

Pierce had 10 points (2-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), two rebounds, two assists, and a steal over 27 minutes Tuesday against Toronto.

Pierce didn't match his production from Game 1, but still managed to post solid production Tuesday. His shooting numbers were down Tuesday, but that is partially attributable to big nights from John Wall and Bradley Beal. Pierce has reportedly been dealing with some knee soreness, but he should be able to put up solid numbers throughout Washington's postseason run.

Pierce's knee issue suffered Feb. 24 against the Warriors continues to bother him, the Washington Post reports.

Pierce continues to wrap the knee heavily for games, and indicated he'll likely need to play through the pain until he retires. However, the issue shouldn't effect his availability moving forward, but will probably limit his minutes.

Pierce registered a game-high 20 points (7-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one steal, and one block in 37 minutes during Saturday's overtime win.

Pierce was tasked with playing minutes at power forward. He outscored the Raptors in overtime, 5-4, and left briefly after blindly running directly into the Raptors' Jonas Valanciunas, but his 36 minutes is the most he's played since late January.

Pierce (rest) will sit out of Wednesday's regular season finale against Cleveland, Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post reports.

Pierce logged just 18 minutes on the floor in Tuesday's double-overtime loss to Indiana and will get additional rest Wednesday. Otto Porter will replace Pierce in the starting lineup.

Pierce will miss the entirety of the Wizards' current back-to-back set in order to rest, marking his third absence in a row. Once again, expect Otto Porter to get the nod at small forward.

Paul has found his stroke lately, averaging 14.1 points and shooting 51 percent from the field through March. He is also knocking down 2.6 threes per game. He can miss games at any stage due to injury, but if you badly need scoring and threes from a wing, then consider Pierce if he is available.
