Tue Dec 8 201502:00F David Lee and G R.J
F David Lee, who missed the Saturday game with a right heel bruise, and G R.J. Hunter (hip flexor) both sat out Monday. "David got through the stretching and just didn't feel right," coach Brad Stevens said. "R.J. got through the initial drills and just didn't feel 100 percent."

Lee posted a double-double against Real Madrid on Thursday over 21 minutes, contributing 13 points (5-12 FG, 3-4 FT), four assists, 11 rebounds, and a steal.
The veteran power forward built on his strong showing in the exhibition opener by collecting a double-double and particularly making his presence felt on the defensive glass, where he collected nine of his 11 rebounds. Lee has plenty of competition for both the starting power forward role and playing time overall, with Jared Sullinger and Jonas Jerebko also vying for minutes, making it a situation worth monitoring over the balance of the preseason. However, coach Brad Stevens has publicly touted Lee as a focal point of the offense in 2015-16, making him a solid late-round target in drafts.

Lee started at power forward in the Celtics' preseason opener Tuesday against Italian club Olimpia Milano, scoring 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-3 FT) and adding seven rebounds in 21 minutes.
Given the inferior competition, there's little to take away from Lee's near-double-double performance, but the fact that he garnered the start is relevant. It looks like Lee and Tyler Zeller will be positioned to open the season as the starting frontcourt tandem, but Amir Johnson, Kelly Olynyk, Jonas Jerebko, and Jared Sullinger remain in the picture for playing time. The glut of big men may prevent Lee from averaging much more than 25-to-30 minutes per game.
Tue Jul 7 201515:08David Lee: Dealt To Boston
Lee was dealt to the Celtics for Gerald Wallace on Tuesday, ESPN reports.
After a season in which he took a back seat to Draymond Green in the Warriors' starting five, Lee's expected change of destination has come to fruition, and he'll almost likely slot in as the starting power forward with the Celtics. In four regular-season nods with Golden State last season, he averaged 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 26 minutes.
Wed Jul 1 201512:35Lee missed 33 games due to injury (back/hamstring) this season
Lee missed 33 games due to injury (back/hamstring) this season. He averaged 7.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 0.6 steals in 18 minutes per game through 49 games in 2014-15.
The 32-year-old, who finished his 10th NBA season, is under team control through 2015-16. Lee sustained an injury to his hamstring in October, and did not return until December. After missing time, Lee was surpassed on the depth chart by Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes, and Andre Iguodala, starting in only four games. Last season, Lee averaged 18.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.4 blocks, and 0.7 steals in 33 minutes per game through 69 games. Lee will most likely be traded by the Warriors this offseason, where his production and minutes could increase on a different roster.
Wed Jun 17 201514:07Lee and Warriors will mutually pursue trade this offseason
Lee and the Warriors will mutually pursue a trade this offseason, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
Despite contributing to a championship-winning team, it was well known that Lee would likely seek a new home this offseason after falling out of the rotation for parts of the 2014-15 season. The two-time All-Star averaged near-career-lows across the board, playing only 18.4 minutes per game as the backup to do-it-all forward Draymond Green. The 32-year-old Lee has one year and $15.5 million remaining on his contract, but despite the large cap number, he figures to draw interest due to the fact that the deal expires after next season. Lee, who has his issues defensively, is just a year removed from averaging 18.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
Thu Jun 11 201520:10David Lee: Will Be In Rotation Thursday
Lee will be in the frontcourt rotation Thursday at Cleveland, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Regarding his Game 3 performance, coach Steve Kerr said, "He played well, and we looked good when he was out there."
Lee made his first appearance of the Finals on Tuesday, logging 13 minutes to spur a late surge. In the process, he posted 11 points (4-4 FG, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Because Draymond Green is contending with back spasms as a result of a fall in Sunday's Game 2, Lee could garner significant run Thursday, as Green's level of health is unknown at the moment.

Lee finished his first NBA Finals game with 11 points (4-4 FG, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 13 minutes on Tuesday in the Warriors' 96-91 Game 3 loss.
Lee led the team with a postive-17 plus/minus and was second to Stephen Curry with nine second-half points. His inclusion in the rotation limited Andrew Bogut to 17 minutes.
Wed May 13 201521:02Lee will play in Game 5 on Wednesday against Memphis
Lee will play in Game 5 on Wednesday against Memphis, Diamond Leung of the Mercury News reports.
Lee played 15 minutes off the bench and scored five points in Monday's win over the Grizzlies. With Marreese Speights sidelined for the remainder of the series with a calf injury, Lee should continue to get minutes off the bench. He will likely be a low-end fantasy option for the remainder of the series, however.

Lee could see additional time on the court over the next week with the injury to Marreese Speights (calf) according to coach Steve Kerr, the Mercury News reports.
Speights was diagnosed with a strained right calf Sunday and has been ruled out for at least one week. Lee has seen just nine total minutes through the first three games of the Memphis series, so even a limited role in Kerr's rotation will be an improvement. Although, Speights was only averaging eight minutes during the same time span so Lee likely isn't in store for a significant boost in playing time if does in fact absorb Speights spot in the rotation.

Lee (back) returned to action in the Warriors' second round opener against the Grizzlies, logging two rebounds in four minutes of action.
Lee hasn't logged a game since April 13, so it's an encouraging sign to see him return to action at a good time. The Warriors appear to be breezing through the Playoffs with ease, which means Lee will likely see his minutes rise up gradually and not instantaneously. He adds depth to the Warriors' front court and should see improvement over the next few games.
Mon Apr 27 201510:53Lee (back) expects to play in Warriors' second-round series
Lee (back) expects to play in the Warriors' second-round series, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Lee missed the whole first round due to a lower-back strain, but it sounds as though he'll play more in the second series. While the team was able to pass through the Pelicans relatively easily, extra big bodies could be helpful when potentially facing the Grizzles' Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol.

Lee (back) was available to play in Game 4 against the Pelicans but ultimately logged a DNP-CD.
The Warriors are probably being cautious in Lee's return, and it may be awhile before he returns to his usual minutes load. Consider him a game-time decision for the Warriors' second round opener against either the winner of the Portland-Memphis series.
Fri Apr 24 201520:26David Lee: (Back) Available Saturday
Lee (back) will be available off the bench for Game 4 against the Pelicans on Saturday, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Lee managed to take part in Friday's practice and has the chance to compete Saturday. However, he hasn't played in almost two weeks and will most likely be eased back into the swing of things upon his eventual return to the hardwood.
Fri Apr 24 201518:30David Lee: (Back) Not On Injury Report
Lee (back) is not currently listed on the injury report for Saturday's Game 4 against the Pelicans, John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game reports.
Lee missed the first three games of the playoffs and seems to be in line to make a return Saturday. Although, he'll have to make it through Saturday's morning shootaround before officially taking the court. Even if he does make a comeback, expect him to play limited minutes off the bench as coach Steve Kerr looks to ease Lee back into the swing of things.
Thu Apr 23 201513:23Lee (back) will not play in Game 3 against Pelicans on Thursday
Lee (back) will not play in Game 3 against the Pelicans on Thursday, Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Previously considered doubtful, Lee will officially miss his third straight game of the series. He continues to nurse a strained lower-back, and with the Warriors up 2-0 on an inferior opponent, the team has not reason to rush him back. Lee should be considered questionable for Game 4, but it's possible he could aim to return in the second round.
Wed Apr 22 201520:18Lee (back) listed as doubtful for Game 3 on Thursday
Lee (back) is listed as doubtful for Game 3 on Thursday, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Lee has missed the first two games of the Warriors' series with the Pelicans and it appears that he'll likely miss Game 3. Andre Iguodala and Marreese Speights have been getting most of the front court minutes off the bench in Lee's absence.
Sun Apr 19 201517:13David Lee: (Back) Ruled Out For Game 2
Lee (back) will not play in Monday's Game 2 against the Pelicans, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Lee missed Game 1 on Saturday and there's a real possibility that he'll continue to sit for the duration of the series against the Pelicans, especially if the Warriors take a 2-0 lead Monday night. Consider Lee out with continued lower-back issues until the Warriors say otherwise.
