Sun Dec 29 201314:28Jordan Hill likely moving back to starter
Jordan Hill will likely replace Shawne Williams in the starting lineup against the Sixers, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.
The Lakers are not going to have Pau Gasol tonight and will likely abandon the stretch-four strategy with Williams. If Chris Kaman (ankle) can't play, Hill could start at center, but the Lakers are expected to have Kaman ready to go. Hill should be owned in standard leagues and has a good matchup tonight.

Sat Dec 28 201301:21Jordan Hill scores 16 points off bench
Jordan Hill scored 16 points off the bench against the Jazz on Friday, while adding nine boards and two assists in 23 minutes.
He had a nice game against the Heat on Wednesday in 24 minutes, but coach Mike D'Antoni still isn't ready to unleash Hill for bigger minutes like he did back in early November. He's putting up enough value to keep him owned in most formats and the massive upside is just a bonus.

Wed Dec 25 201319:52Jordan Hill bounces back w/ nice fantasy line
Jordan Hill played 24 minutes off the bench with nine points, 10 boards, one assist, three steals and three blocks against the Heat on Wednesday.
His minutes were in the basement over his previous four, playing just 14.0 minutes per game with an average line of 6.8 points, 4.3 boards and 0.3 blocks. Hill seems to clearly be the second-best big behind Pau Gasol and he puts up huge lines while he's getting minutes, but there's a fundamental issue due to Mike D'Antoni messing with his playing time. If you can help it, Hill is worth owning in standard leagues.

Tue Dec 24 201303:41Jordan Hill back in the doghouse again
Jordan Hill played just 14 minutes off the bench on Monday with seven points, four boards and one turnover against the Suns.
It seems like every year coach Mike D'Antoni messes with one guy more than any other and that guy looks to be Jordan Hill this year. Hill had a 14-point. 10-board game on Saturday, but he was pushed back to a secondary role tonight. His December averages are pretty solid at 9.3 points, 6.4 boards and 0.5 blocks despite only 17.9 minutes, so he would be a beast with consistent minutes. Of course, that's a fundamental issue with D'Antoni running the show. It's better to just bench him unless you can't resist making a pickup for a hot free agent.

Sun Dec 22 201301:41Jordan Hill double-doubles in loss
Jordan Hill had 14 points and 10 rebounds in 20 minutes of Saturday's loss to the Warriors.
He scored all 14 of his points in the first half and had scored a total of six points in his previous two games. Chris Kaman came out of nowhere for 10 points and 17 rebounds tonight, while Pau Gasol was out with an illness. Both of those are big concerns in regards to Hill's fantasy value going forward, and despite having a nice four-game week coming up, Hill might be better served on your bench.

Sat Dec 21 201301:53Jordan Hill hitting rock bottom for Lakers
Jordan Hill hit rock bottom with just four points on 2-of-2 shooting with one rebound and one block in 14 minutes on Friday against the Wolves.
It's not like the Wolves don't have big guys to match up with, and it's becoming clear that Mike D'Antoni isn't all that committed to playing Hill consistent minutes for whatever reason, whether it's to preserve Hill or for strategy reasons. Chris Kaman saw the floor, too, logging 16 minutes while Robert Sacre saw 11 minutes as well. Owners can only look at Hill as a stash now, and just a mid-to-low level one with the sudden downturn from this week.

Tue Dec 17 201322:51Jordan Hill disappears in Lakers win
Jordan Hill started again for the Lakers, but you wouldn't know it by his two points, two rebounds and four fouls in just eight minutes on Tuesday.
Hill had 21 points and nine boards in Monday's game, but never got it going tonight and Mike D'Antoni had seen enough after his fourth foul early in the second half. Hill should be much better than this on most nights and if an impatient owner drops him, you should think about picking him up. Hopefully tonight turns out to be nothing more than a bump in the road for Hill.

Mon Dec 16 201322:05Hill, Gasol combine for 15-of-17 FGs in loss
Jordan Hill hit all eight of his field goal attempts in another start at power forward on Monday against the Hawks, finishing with 21 points, nine rebounds and one block in 28 minutes.
As long as Hill is healthy and Mike D'Antoni is acting relatively sane in any given week, he's going to put up efficient and worthwhile numbers for a fantasy big man. We wanted him added to fantasy rosters on Saturday so needless to say he's a must-add player right now. Pau Gasol also couldn't miss with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting, 10 rebounds and two assists in the loss.

Sat Dec 14 201322:08Jordan Hill logs 31 minutes, scores 15 points
Jordan HIll played 31 minutes in his second consecutive start on Saturday and had 15 points, nine boards and one assist on 5-of-7 shooting.
His minutes had evaporated before tonight with just 16.0 per game over his previous six outings. The Lakers have really no other options next to Pau Gasol with Chris Kaman (back) unable to stay healthy and Shawne Williams not being able to do much outside of shoot treys. There is too much upside to let him sit around on almost any waiver wire even after his terrible start this month.

Sat Dec 14 201300:53Jordan Hill plays 12 minutes in start
Jordan Hill played 12 minutes in a start at power forward on Friday with six points, five boards and one assist against the Thunder.
He came off the bench for three games and played just 18 minutes per game in that span. Mike D'Antoni is one of the most unpredictable coaches in the NBA, but Hill appears to be his best option to start opposite Pau Gasol. He's not a must-own play or anything, but there is some upside here for a guy that was on fire a couple weeks ago.

Fri Dec 13 201311:59Jordan Hill set to start Friday vs. OKC
Jordan Hill is set to start Friday vs. the Thunder.
What goes on in the mind of Mike D'antoni is anyone's guess, but Jordan Hill will make a start Friday vs. the Thunder, and hopefully he'll be given more than 19 minutes. Hill is averaging 11.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks as a starter so get him in your lineups, and hope the starting gig will be a trend moving forward.

Wed Dec 11 201302:06Jordan Hill productive in just 19 minutes
Jordan Hill came off the bench to play just 19 minutes on Tuesday, but hit 5-of-6 shots on his way to 13 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
More minutes, please. For whatever reason, Mike D'Antoni chose to start Shawne Williams over Hill tonight, as D'Antoni thinks Hill has more value to his team in that role. We'll agree to disagree and the bottom line is that Hill needs more than 19 minutes to be an effective fantasy player. Keep an eye on this situation going forward.

Sun Dec 8 201310:12Jordan Hill likely to remain in reserve role
Jordan Hill will likely continue to come off the bench behind Pau Gasol and Robert Sacre, according to Mike D'Antoni.
"Yeah, for sure," said D'Antoni, when asked if Hill played better off the bench. "And I think that's the role that he's the most comfortable with. We got him out of it and he'll go back [to coming off the bench] and he can get even more comfortable." He played 15 minutes on Friday and fantasy owners should consider setting him adrift on the waiver wire.

Sat Dec 7 201303:39Hill plays just 15 minutes off the bench
Jordan Hill played just 15 minutes off the bench on Friday, scoring seven points on 3-of-5 shooting with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Hill's problem isn't his skill but instead his knees (and a recent ankle issue), so Mike D'Antoni moved him to the bench where he can manage the limited minutes that he can give. As long as Chris Kaman isn't inserted into the rotation then owners can make the case to hold onto Hill, as he'll eventually feel better and put up some bigger lines. But if Kaman is brought back into the fold it could get ugly quick.

Mon Dec 2 201300:20Jordan Hill (ankle) quiet in return Sunday
Jordan Hill's ankle injury didn't prevent him from starting Sunday's loss to the visiting Blazers, but he only had two points, six rebounds and one steal in 16 minutes.
In spite of three straight miserable games, including Friday's injury-shortened debacle, Hill is still averaging a double-double with 1.3 blocks as the Lakers' starting PF. Chris Kaman's eventual return from a back injury doesn't pose as much of a threat to Hill as Mike D'Antoni's opportunistic rotations -- Steve Blake and Pau Gasol are the only guys averaging 30+ minutes for L.A. this season.

Sun Dec 1 201314:09Jordan Hill and Pau Gasol will play Sunday
Jordan Hill (ankle) will play against the Blazers on Sunday night.
He was a go in shootaround and it sounds like his sprained left ankle shouldn't limit him too much. Coach Mike D'Antoni said he was a little worried about Hill getting tired, so his minutes total will be under a microscope tonight. He's still worth owning in all leagues.

Sat Nov 30 201316:19Jordan Hill (ankle) probable to play Sunday
Jordan Hill (sprained left ankle) is probable for Sunday's game.
He sat out Saturday's practice to receive treatment but it doesn't sound like anything serious enough to keep him out of the lineup vs. Portland. After an initial eruption as L.A.'s starting PF, Hill has calmed down and is averaging just 6.8 points in the past five games.

Sat Nov 30 201300:18Jordan Hill suffers sprained left ankle
Jordan Hill suffered a sprained left ankle on Friday and believes he can play on Sunday night against the Blazers.
His injury held him to just 14 minutes vs. Detroit and he was quiet in the box score with two points, four boards, one block and two turnovers. Coach Mike D'Antoni said he was a little worried about Hill getting tired, so it might not be a bad idea to rest Hill against the Blazers. Shawne Williams was terrific tonight, but it's hard to put a lot a stock into a player that was a ghost for most of the season. Hill owners should cut him some slack and keep him on their rosters.

Fri Nov 29 201320:13Jordan Hill getting a little tired?
Jordan Hill might be getting a little tired for his 30 minutes per game as a starter.
"He's been a little tired and we try to give him a little extra time on the bench to get his pop back," coach Mike D'Antoni said. "He's still playing but he played so well, I don't know if he can continue to do that. You watch other teams now, they just try to face guard him and keep him off the boards, so they've adjusted to his style a little bit." We'll see how he does tonight, but his owners shouldn't panic even though his numbers have cooled off.

Wed Nov 27 201323:20Jordan Hill shoots 1-of-9 for two points
Jordan Hill shot 1-of-9 from the field for two points with 12 boards and one assist in 21 minutes.
It was his worst game in a while and it was bound to happen for a guy that was overachieving. Hill averaged 15.0 points, 11.1 boards and 1.6 blocks in his previous seven starts, so it will obviously take more than one bad game to jump ship. He's still worth owning in all leagues.
