Tue Dec 11 201221:51Alonzo Gee fills stat sheet in win over Laker
Alonzo Gee had 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes of Tuesday's tough win over the Lakers.
He hit 6-of-14 shots and was returning 10th-round value in nine-cat leagues. As long as he continues to start at one of the wing positions for the Cavs, he's worth a look in nearly any fantasy league.

Sat Dec 8 201205:48Alonzo Gee scores 16 points on Friday
Alonzo Gee scored 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound, one assist, and one block in 31 minutes on Friday against the Wolves.
Gee has been a late-round value and he will get plenty of touches with the Cavs' backcourt so banged up.

Mon Dec 3 201223:28Alonzo Gee has an off evening on Monday
Alonzo Gee scored just six points with two rebounds, one assist and three steals in Monday's loss to the Pistons.
Gee shot just 2-of-10 from the field which has really been his Achilles heel to his fantasy value. He is shooting below 40 percent on the season, but the steals and triples make him worth owning in most leagues.

Sat Dec 1 201223:36Alonzo Gee goes for a season high
Alonzo Gee had a season-high 22 points to go with four rebounds, three assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 39 minutes against the Blazers.
Gee has stepped it up with Kyrie Irving out of the lineup and he has averaged 1.6 3-pointers over his last seven games. He's locked in with 35 minutes per game over his last 10 and he should be owned in almost all fantasy formats.

Sat Dec 1 201202:19Gee scores game-winning bucket vs. ATL
Alonzo Gee scored 13 points including the game-winning bucket on Friday against the Hawks, hitting 4-of-12 shots (including a three) with five rebounds, one assist, and six turnovers in 32 minutes.
Gee is turning the ball over 2.6 times per game, but he's still posting solid late-round value and should be owned in most 12-team formats. His game-winner came on an airball from Dion Waiters, which Gee caught and laid in before time expired.

Fri Nov 30 201208:12Alonzo Gee embracing defensive role
Byron Scott heaped praise on Alonzo Gee's defensive capabilities, saying that he can guard "anyone we put him on."
Scott has also "made it clear" that he's fine using Gee "against any player short of a center," and his defensive abilities should help him stay on the court consistently. "I watched a lot of film," Gee said. "I watched film of every guard." Scott also indicated that he's encouraging Gee to look for his shot more often. Gee has started every game and is averaging 11.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.9 treys and 1.7 steals on 40.1 percent shooting.

Alonzo Gee scored nine points on 4-of-11 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds and one assist in 33 minutes on Monday.
Gee didn't have a steal or block, but he averages 1.7 per game of the former and 0.5 per game of the latter. He has produced well enough to be owned in all 8- and 9-cat formats this season.

Thu Nov 22 201200:10Alonzo Gee hits four 3s, scores 14
Alonzo Gee hit four 3-pointers as part of his 14-point night, while adding six rebounds, three blocks and in Cleveland's 92-83 win over the Sixers on Wednesday.
Gee never hit more than two threes before his four tonight and tonight was his best game of the year with the added defense. He should see some nice run with Kyrie Irving (finger) out of the lineup.

Sat Nov 17 201222:12Alonzo Gee posts all-around line in Cavs loss
Alonzo Gee made just 6-of-16 FGs in 39 minutes vs. Dallas, but finished with a well-rounded line of 15 points, seven rebounds, four steals, one block and zero turnovers.
Gee missed all three of his 3-point attempts tonight, but he's averaging 0.8 per game this season, and is quietly surfacing as a nice waiver wire pickup. His 32 minutes per game are very sustainable, and his value will only increase when his shot begins to fall (38.5 percent FGs).

Tue Nov 13 201223:23Alonzo Gee quiet in loss to Nets
Alonzo Gee had just four points on 2-of-7 shooting Tuesday despite playing 38 minutes.
He scored 18 & 15 points in each of his previous two games and the minutes were great tonight. Keep in mind that both Kyrie Irving and Anderson Varejao had career nights, which hurt Gee's normal touches. He's not a must-own or must-start player, but has played well enough to be given a shot in most leagues.

Sat Nov 10 201205:08Gee scores 15 points with seven boards
Alonzo Gee scored 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting (no threes) with seven rebounds, three steals, and one block in 36 minutes on Friday against the Suns.
Gee is posting mid-to-late round value and despite our tepid review on Wednesday, he needs to be owned in most formats. He's on the shortlist of players that are trusted in Cleveland right now.

Thu Nov 8 201202:17Alonzo Gee still struggling for Cavs
Alonzo Gee had just seven points, three rebounds and three steals on 5-of-9 shooting in 21 minutes on Wednesday.
He's still the starter at small forward and may be for some time, but he's just had too many bad nights to be considered reliable. He plays good defense and Byron Scott seems to like him, but he looks like a good candidate to drop for a hot free agent if your options are limited.

Tue Nov 6 201205:50Gee chases around Chris Paul all night
Alonzo Gee scored eight points on 2-of-8 shooting (no threes) with three rebounds, four assists, and one steal in Monday's win over the Clippers.
Gee was named one of the best defensive players in the league by Byron Scott before the game, who used him on Chris Paul at times on Monday night. While the stat line isn't anything to write home about, he is putting up solid late round value and Scott loves him.

Mon Nov 5 201215:44Byron Scott effusively praises Alonzo Gee
Byron Scott praised Alonzo Gee on Monday, calling him "one of the best defensive players in the league."
Gee was assigned to guard Brandon Jennings this weekend and he's bound to get heavy playing time due to his versatile defensive prowess. Scott also approved of Gee looking for his shot more often, so fantasy owners should view him as a nice waiver wire pickup with season-long upside.

Sun Nov 4 201200:24Alonzo Gee heats up, scores 18 pts vs. Bucks
Alonzo Gee finally got going on Saturday, scoring 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting, with two 3-pointers, three rebounds, six assists and two steals.
Gee fell behind C.J. Miles (scoreless in 15 minutes) on the depth chart in training camp, but he's since regained his footing as a starter and he's worth a long look in most leagues. He'll give you steals and a handful of 3-pointers to go along with adequate points and rebounds, and he should have more consistent value than guys like Jae Crowder, Bradley Beal or teammate Dion Waiters.

Tue Oct 30 201222:05Alonzo Gee quiet in Cavs opener
Alonzo Gee started at SF for the Cavaliers on Tuesday but hit just 2-of-9 shots for four points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 34 minutes.
The minutes were there and he looked very good at times, so we're not ready to give up on him just yet, unless you have a very hot free agent you want to pick up. C.J. Miles came off the bench and had just two points in 18 minutes, so we expect Gee to be better than this on most night.

Mon Oct 29 201213:45Alonzo Gee to open season as starting SF
Alonzo Gee, and not C.J. Miles, will open the season as the Cavs starting small forward.
Gee's free agency took longer to play out than many expected, and some had thought that might cost him his starting job, but he was able to hold onto it entering the year. In that role last year, Gee averaged 11.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals on just 39.9 percent shooting.

Tue Oct 23 201222:36Alonzo Gee gets start, scores 18 points
Alonzo Gee got the start Tuesday and had 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block in a team-high 34 minutes.
Gee's start and sudden surge in minutes come after three straight games in a reserve role and further cloud an already murky picture in Cleveland. If Gee gets starter minutes, he could be a valuable piece for the Cavs and fantasy owners.

Mon Oct 15 201222:49Gee scores 13 points in Monday's game
Alonzo Gee scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 26 minutes off the bench during Monday's preseason win.
Gee has played better off the bench than in the starting lineup, so if we had to guess today that's where we'd see him starting the season. It's just too cloudy right now to predict anything with certainty, but we'd like him much better in a starting role and he would be worth a late-round pick. Coming off the bench, he's probably a better fit for deeper leagues.

Sat Oct 13 201223:03Alonzo Gee moves to Cavs bench on Saturday
Alonzo Gee shifted to a reserve role on Saturday, notching 13 points, one rebound and two steals in 26 minutes.
Gee had been abysmal this preseason, and it's conceivable that he might lose out on a starting job if Byron Scott opts for Dion Waiters at SG and C.J. Miles at SF (as he did in this game). Gee remains the clear favorite to start at SF, however, and we must issue our umpteenth warning not to read too much into preseason games.
