3B Cheslor Cuthbert was activated from the disabled list and started at third base on Tuesday. Cuthbert had two hits, including a three-run double, in his first game back. He hit .271 with eight extra-base hits while rehabbing with Triple-A Omaha. He missed 36 games with a left wrist sprain. "This is just more protection for Moose (Moustakas)," Royals manager Ned Yost said to start Cuthbert. "That's his natural position and he did a great job for us there last year."

Cuthbert previously played nine games for the Storm Chasers before he fouled a ball off his foot last week and was shut down. Cuthbert could be activated later this month, barring another setback. 3B Cheslor Cuthbert began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Omaha on Monday. Cuthbert has been held out of action since June 25 with the sprained left wrist. He will likely require a few additional rehab games beyond Monday before the Royals feel comfortable bringing him off the 10-day disabled list. The 24-year-old could displace Ramon Torres as the Royals' top utility infielder once he's cleared to return.

INF Cheslor Cuthbert was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday, retroactive to Monday, with a left wrist sprain. Cuthbert has not contributed much offensively this season, batting .196 with four runs scored, one homer and 10 RBIs in 92 official at-bats. He played regularly much of last season with Mike Moustakas sidelined by a knee injury, hitting .274 with 12 homers and 46 RBIs in 128 games. Cuthbert's absence leaves Ramon Torres as the only backup infielder.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert drove in three runs with a double in the second a two-run single in the fifth. It is his first three RBI-game since July 5 at Toronto. Cuthbert is hitting .313 in his past 11 games to put his average above the Mendoza line at .203.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert made his 12th start at third base as 3B Mike Moustakas was rested against Tigers LHP Matt Boyd. "It's hard to find spots for Cuthbert," Yost said. "We did today with the off-day tomorrow gives the benefit of Moose getting two days off and only missing one game." Cuthbert went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert took over at first base on Saturday after 1B Eric Hosmer was ejected from the game in the first inning. Cuthbert went 2-for-4 and played flawlessly at first base. "He played a lot of first base in spring training, so I had no trepidation about putting him there. He can play anywhere in the infield," manager Ned Yost said.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert recorded his first hit of the season with his leadoff home run in the fifth inning. Cuthbert did not play in the series opener after making his season debut Wednesday. Cuthbert finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.

INF Cheslor Cuthbert was in competition for the second base job, which Raul Mondesi won. While Cuthbert may lack the range to be an everyday second baseman, he can handle the position occasionally. His natural position is third base and with Mike Moustakas coming off knee surgery, he will need some days off. Cuthbert could fill in there, plus play some first base. He is also out of minor league options and the Royals could not afford to lose him. If Moustakas bolts after this season, Cuthbert could be the third baseman of the future.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert proved he can handle the position defensively and at the plate, leading AL rookies with a .274 average. Cuthbert, however, could be a man without a secure job next year when Mike Moustakas returns from knee surgery. The Royals once considered moving Cuthbert to second base, but that is on hold for now.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert went 2-for-3 Tuesday. His 122 hits this year are the second most by any American League rookie this season, and the most by a Royals rookie since Eric Hosmer had 153 in his rookie year of 2011.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert hit a solo home run in four at-bats Saturday. The blast was his 10th of the season but first since July 22 against Texas. His 10 homers are the most by a Royals rookie since Eric Hosmer hit 19 in 2011.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert extended his hitting streak to seven games with two hits, including a run-producing triple. He is hitting .347 in 26 games since the All-Star break.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert was the lone Royal with two hits Thursday, and he has hit safely in 21 of 23 games this month. Cuthbert is now batting .357 in July. Thursday was big for Cuthbert for another reason, as son Cheslor Jr. was born in Nicaragua.

3B Cheslor Cuthbert went 0-for-4, ending his career-high 12-game hitting streak, which was the longest by a Royals rookie since Mike Moustakas' 15-game streak, Aug. 17-Sept. 1, 2011. Cuthbert hit .419 in the streak.
