Rios (ankle) is out of Saturday's lineup against the Astros.

Fri Aug 8 201416:26Alex Rios: Out With Ankle Injury
Rios is not in the lineup Friday, due to an aggravated right ankle injury, the Houston Chronicle's Jose de Jesus Ortiz reports.
He is available off the bench Friday, but isn't expected to start for at least a couple days. He dealt with an ankle injury in late July, and while it's not clear how he aggravated it, the injury would help explain why he has been so mediocre of late. He has just three hits -- all singles -- over his last 26 at-bats, so hopefully a couple days off will help get him back on track. Shin-Soo Choo will start in right field Friday.
Fri Aug 1 201414:51Rios (quad) in lineup Friday as designated hitter
Rios (quad) is in the lineup Friday as the designated hitter.
Rios left Thursday's game in the fourth inning as a precaution after being hit in the left quad by a pitch. He won't play in the field Friday, but is still in the lineup as a designated hitter, indicating he is feeling well enough to run the bases.

Rios was hit in the left quad by a pitch in the third inning of Wednesday's game, and came out as a precaution in the fourth inning.
There's no telling if Rios would have remained in the game if his name wasn't in the midst of trade talks, but that likely played a role Wednesday. Consider him day-to-day, and there's a chance he has played his last game as a member of the Rangers.
Wed Jul 30 201421:39Rios exits Wednesday after HBP in left quad
Alex Rios left Wednesday's game after being hit by a pitch in the left quadriceps muscle.
Rios was hit in the third inning, and he was replaced by Dan Robertson in right field to start the fifth inning. Rios was hitless in one at-bat before exiting. The outfielder's name has been prevalent in trade rumors in recent days, so it may have been his last game as a member of the Rangers.

Alex Rios was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in the first inning after twisting his ankle on a foul ball.
He was replaced in the lineup by Daniel Robertson. It doesn't sound like the type of injury that will warrant a trip to the disabled list, so Rios should be considered day-to-day.

Tue Jun 17 201401:55Rios has 2 hits in win over the Athletics
Alex Rios finished 2-for-5 with two runs scored in a 14-8 win against the A's on Monday.
Rios came into the game slashing .417/.455/.767 with two homers and 16 RBI against southpaws, so Oakland starter Drew Pomeranz, who served up singles in Rios' first two at-bats, really didn't have a chance. The 6-foot-5 outfielder has produced a mediocre .708 OPS against same-sided hurlers, but he's one of fantasy's best matchup plays when the Rangers are matched up against a lefty.
