Rangers manager Ron Washington said that Rios (ankle) will start Sunday, the Associated Press reports.

Sitting for the second straight day Saturday, Rios was not used after Mike Carp left early with an injury of his own. Rios' expected return could shift Jim Adduci to left field for Sunday's series finale with Houston.

Rios (ankle) is out of Saturday's lineup against the Astros.

Rios missed Friday's contest after aggravating a right ankle injury that appears to be lingering into Saturday as well. Jim Adduci will slide over from left field to play right Saturday, while Mike Carp will take his place in left to complete the outfield.

He is available off the bench Friday, but isn't expected to start for at least a couple days. He has just three hits -- all singles -- over his last 26 at-bats, so hopefully a couple days off will help get him back on track. Shin-Soo Choo will start in right field Friday.

There's no telling if Rios would have remained in the game if his name wasn't in the midst of trade talks, but that likely played a role Wednesday. Consider him day-to-day, and there's a chance he has played his last game as a member of the Rangers.

The Blue Jays had been previously reported as a possible suitor for the veteran outfielder, but their interest is said to be fleeting. Rios has six teams on a no-trade list which includes the Yankees.

The 6-foot-5 outfielder has produced a mediocre .708 OPS against same-sided hurlers, but he's one of fantasy's best matchup plays when the Rangers are matched up against a lefty.
