Thu May 24 201201:26Ted Lilly lit up by Diamondbacks
Ted Lilly had an off night in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks, getting shelled to the tune of eight runs on nine hits and five walks in only 3 1/3 innings of work.
He struck out three. Coming into this evening, Lilly had yet to allow more than four earned runs or go fewer than six innings in any of his seven starts. He's now allowed four runs in three consecutive outings, however, raising his ERA from 1.41 on May 7 to 3.14. That number should continue to rise. Lilly will bring a 1.13 WHIP and 31/19 K/BB ratio (compiled in 48 2/3 innings) into his Tuesday start against the Brewers.

Sun May 13 201220:47Ted Lilly improves to 5-0
Ted Lilly improved to 5-0 by holding the Rockies to five runs -- four earned -- over 6 1/3 innings Sunday.
It was Lilly's worst outing of the season by far, but the Dodgers put up six runs in the fifth inning for him. He ended up striking out just one, walking three and giving up six hits. Lilly has now won his five decisions for the first time in his career and is sporting a 2.11 ERA. The downswing figures to continue against the Cardinals next week. Lilly hasn't posted an ERA better than 3.52 in any of his last three seasons.

Tue May 8 201201:43Ted Lilly beats Giants for fourth win
Ted Lilly allowed just a run and four hits in six innings Monday in a victory over the Giants.
Lilly had a rough first half in 2010, but he's been flat-out awesome since last August. He's now 4-0 with a 1.41 ERA in five starts this season. It's something of a fluke that he's given up just one homer so far, but he'll likely remain strong in WHIP all season.

Thu Apr 26 201201:21Ted Lilly excellent in no-decision
Ted Lilly held the Braves to just one run on three hits in seven innings of work on Wednesday, but got stuck with a no-decision thanks to Javy Guerra's second blown save of the season.
Lilly struck out two and walked one, and threw just 79 pitches. He's now allowed only one run while going at least six innings in each of his first three starts. He'll bring a 0.90 ERA and 0.85 WHIP into his Monday outing in Colorado. Despite his hot start, it might still be best to keep Lilly benched at Coors Field.

Ted Lilly (neck) will begin the season on the disabled list.
Lilly made it through a bullpen session Friday without any issues, but he simply doesn't have enough time to get stretched out for the start of the season. Dodgers' manager Don Mattingly said the current plan is for him to throw a simulated game in Anaheim on April 2 before making a rehab start with High-A Rancho Cucamonga on April 8. If all goes well, he'll return when the Dodgers need a fifth starter for the first time on April 15.

Ted Lilly reported improvement in his neck Monday, but still won't make his next scheduled start Tuesday.
"Today, I feel quite a bit better," said Lilly. "I'm still not to where I'm confident that I'd be able to go out there tomorrow and not regress." The veteran southpaw said he isn't yet concerned about his status for the start of the season, but admitted that his neck feels worse now than when he was forced to leave a start last August. Chris Capuano could move up a spot in the rotation if he only needs to miss a turn, but Nathan Eovaldi would likely replace him if he requires a lengthier absence.

Tue Mar 6 201218:59Ted Lilly blasted by Giants
Ted Lilly was knocked around by the Giants Tuesday, giving up five runs on six hits and a walk over two innings of work.
He struck out one and served up a pair of longballs. It's not the way Lilly wanted to kick off his spring, but it's hardly a concern, especially for a guy that's been around as long as he has. The 36-year-old posted a 3.97 ERA and 158/51 K/BB ratio across 192 2/3 innings last season.
