Cosart (arm) will make his return to the mound Wednesday against the Rays, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Cosart exited his last start early due to a forearm conclusion, but given the minor nature of the injury, it's not surprising he'll make his next scheduled start. He'll be opposed by the Rays and Drew Smyly, looking for just his third win of the 2015 campaign in 12 starts with the Marlins.

Cosart exited Thursday's game against the Phillies in the fifth inning with a left forearm contusion and is considered day-to-day.
Fortunately, a forearm contusion shouldn't cost Cosart too much time. Jose Urena replaced him on hte mound in Thursday's contest, and it's unclear at this point whether or not he'll be available for th next scheduled start.

Cosart (2-4) hurled a quality start on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks with four strikeouts across six innings in a 6-4 win over the Nationals.
Cosart has now allowed just three runs on 12 hits over his last three starts. The young righty has a lot of potential and he shows flashes of brilliance with the occasional blowup. What makes him iffy for fantasy purposes are that he doesn't go deep into games and he also struggles to strike batters out. Cosart averages just 77 pitches per start and he has just 41 strikeouts in 61 innings this season. It may be the case of sparing the 25-year-olds arm and he should be a more reliable fantasy player next season. Cosart might be a sneaky streamer play in his next start when he hosts the Phillies next Thursday.

Cosart tossed five shutout innings, allowing four hits and walking three while striking out five, but came away with a no-decision against Washington on Friday night.
Cosart tuned in another solid, albeit rather short, outing against the Nationals. After missing about six weeks when he suffered vertigo symptoms in late July, he has returned and pitched reasonably well. He needed 90 pitches (just 55 for strikes) to cover the five innings, but he figures to take a regular turn over the final weeks of the season.

Cosart allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out three over 4.2 innings, but received no decision Sunday against the Mets.
Cosart was recalled from High-A Jupiter and held the red-hot Mets in check. Although he didn't reach the five-inning mark, he did leave the contest with the 2-1 lead, and he was very instrumental in helping the Marlins pick up the win. In his first start since July 4, his performance lowered his ERA to 5.04. As long as he doesn't have a recurrence of vertigo symptoms, he'll likely retain his spot in the rotation to finish the season. His next start will be Saturday against Washington.

Cosart was recalled from High-A Jupiter on Friday.
Cosart didn't excel in two starts at Jupiter, giving up seven runs in nine starts, but the Marlins probably want to give one of their better young starters a chance to finish out the season at the top level. He's expected to start Sunday against the Mets, which isn't ideal given that New York has been one of the hottest teams in baseball in the last month.

Cosart (illness) will likely be called up to start Sunday's game against the Mets, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Bothered by vertigo symptoms throughout much of the season, Cosart finally seems to have the issue under control, though his results in the minors haven't been encouraging. He gave up seven runs over nine innings in his last two starts with High-Jupiter, but the Marlins may still feel that he's ready to return to the majors. Cosart would likely replace Chris Narveson, who is in danger of missing Sunday's start against the Mets due to a blister on his left middle finger.

Cosart pitched into the sixth inning despite being capped at 70 pitches in the outing as he continues to make strides towards a return to the majors. The right-hander struck out four on the day and, most importantly, did not experience any recurrence of vertigo symptoms. The ailment, brought on by a nerve issue, appears to finally be under control and Cosart should see some time with the big club during September.

Cosart (illness) will push his pitch count to 65-70 pitches during his next rehab start Thursday for High-A Jupiter, the Miami Herald reports.
Cosart appears to be finally over the nerve issue that resulted in recurring vertigo symptoms throughout the season. He's pitched well so far during his rehab work, touching 94 mph with his fastball during his last outing, as he continues to rebuild stamina. Cosart now appears likely to get in a handful of starts for the Marlins during September which could go a long way in building his confidence following a frustrating, lost season.

Cosart admitted that he's "a little out of shape," but was able to hit 94 mph with his fastball and it sounds like the 25-year-old will now join High-A Jupiter for one of two additional rehab starts.

Cosart (illness) is slated to resume a throwing program Friday before beginning a rehab assignment at High-A Jupiter, the Miami Herald reports.
The team has expressed hope that Cosart could return to the rotation before the end of August, but it is difficult to bank on any timetable until he is able to return to game action. Cosart's season-long vertigo issues have finally been pinned on a nerve issue and he's now on medication to correct the problem. It's largely been a lost season for Cosart who has compiled an ugly 5.36 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 45.1 inning for the major league club and the team will consider it a victory if he's able to make a few starts down the stretch.

Cosart (illness) has been throwing in recent days and says he "feels great," MLB.com reports.
Now that he has a firm idea of what's wrong -- it's an impacted nerve on his right side that's less responsive that his left side, causing balance issues -- Cosart believes he will be able to progress through his recovery quickly. He has been taking medication and throwing, but an estimated return timetable will remain hazy until Cosart returns to mound work.

Cosart (head) was diagnosed with sinus infection that triggered his latest bout of vertigo, MLB.com.
Cosart visited a neurologist Monday and it was revealed that a sinus infection brought on the symptoms. Earlier this season, Cosart attributed a similar struggle with vertigo symptoms to an ear infection. The Marlins will focus on finding a solution to the pitchers health issues before getting him back on the mound and there is currently no timetable for his return.

Cosart (head) will visit a neurologist Monday to undergo testing following the return of vertigo symptoms in his latest minor league start, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Cosart spent time on the disabled list earlier in the year due to vertigo and experienced a recurrence of symptoms during his start with Triple-A New Orleans last Friday. His on-field struggles have become a secondary concern at this point as the team tries to get to the bottom of his health issues.
