Vogelsong will start Game 4 of the World Series against the Royals next Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reports.

The Cardinals knocked Vogelsong around to the tune of four earned runs over three innings in Game 4 of the NLCS, but Yusmeiro Petit kept the Giants in it with three shutout innings and ultimately earned the win. Manager Bruce Bochy will stick with the same rotation in the World Series, with the mindset that Petit is more valuable as a long man out of the bullpen.

Vogelsong will start Game 4 of the NLCS against the Cardinals on Wednesday, Bay Area News Group reports.

Vogelsong had a strong showing in his NLDS start against the Nationals, allowing just two hits and one earned run with four strikeouts over 5.2 innings. He last faced the Cardinals in July, when he took the loss despite allowing only two earned runs over 7.0 innings.

Vogelsong would start for the Giants in a potential Game 4 against the Nationals, the San Francisco Chronicle's John Shea reports.

The Giants will look to sweep Washington in the NLDS Monday with Madison Bumgarner on the hill, but Vogelsong would pitch Tuesday if necessary.

Despite Vogelsong's inconsistencies, he's collected a solid 3.86 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.
