Almonte went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in a blowout win over Minnesota on Wednesday.

Almonte was just 3-for-24 over his last nine games, so the breakout is a promising sign in the final week of the year. The young outfielder has been going from team to team and it seems as though he's solidified a nice fourth outfielder role with the tribe. With the injury to Michael Brantley, Almonte should be in line for plenty of at-bats over the last four days.

Though he had struggled as of late, Almonte has provided a spark to Cleveland's lineup over the past month, batting .264 with 10 RBI, 16 runs and five steals. Almonte needs to show better plate discipline, posting a 19.6% K Rate during the same stretch, but he is capable of filling up a wide number of columns on the stat sheet.

Almonte will sit out the second contest of a doubleheader Sunday against the Tigers.

The 26-year-old put up decent numbers in Triple-A, but hasn't been able to hit for a high average or show speed consistently at the major league level.

Almonte has seen most of the starts in center field following the Michael Bourn departure, but he's gone just 4-for-30 over the past nine games, dropping his batting line to .241/.297/.483. If he can't figure things out at the plate, the team could begin looking elsewhere for production in center field.
