The Rockies recalled Kahnle from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
Kahnle had been pitching well in Triple-A, posting a 3.68 ERA in 17 appearances; and with Jordan Lyles headed to the disabled list, Kahnle will be called up to add another arm to the Rockies' bullpen. He last pitched in the majors in 2014, when he posted a 4.19 ERA across 68 innings while carrying a 63:31 K:BB ratio.

Kahnle was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.
Kahnle spent the entire 2014 season with the big league club, posting a 4.19 ERA in 54 outings, and surrendered just one run in 4.1 innings in spring play, but it appears he'll be beginning the 2015 season in the minors. The move comes as somewhat of a surprise, but the 25-year-old should have the opportunity to work his way back onto the parent club at some point this season.
Wed Sep 17 201410:14Kahnle notched eighth hold of season Wednesday against Dodgers
Kahnle notched his eighth hold of the season Wednesday against the Dodgers.
Relieving Tyler Matzek in the sixth inning, Kahnle surrendered one hit but retired two hitters via strikeout to eliminate the Dodgers' threat to mount a comeback. Kahnle has faded considerably in the second half, but with an overall 3.72 ERA and 1.14 WHIP, he's still been one of the Rockies' best relievers this season.
Wed Sep 3 201411:42Kahnle (shoulder) activated from 15-day DL on Tuesday
Kahnle (shoulder) was activated from the 15-day DL on Tuesday.
The right-hander was thrown back into the fire right away, as he gave up two runs (one earned) in his lone inning of relief in Tuesday's loss to the Giants. Kahnle has been fairly impressive this season as Rule 5 selection by the Rockies, but he's been brutal since the All-Star break, owning a 6.59 ERA over 13.2 innings.

Kahnle was placed on the 15-day DL on Saturday with right shoulder inflammation, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
This likely explains Kahnle's struggles of late. The right-hander gave up multiple runs in three of his last four outings, with nine runs in total allowed over 4.1 innings, so he'll shut it down for a bit in hopes of contributing in September. Brooks Brown was recalled to take Kahnle's spot in the bullpen.
Sun Aug 10 201411:06Kahnle gave up go-ahead homer in seventh inning to Diamondbacks'...
Kahnle gave up a go-ahead homer in the seventh inning to the Diamondbacks' Alfredo Marte in the seventh inning Saturday, and then the first three runs of a nine-run eighth inning.
Kahnle's ERA jumped from 3.00 to 3.52 with the outing. Even with the decent ERA, there are some warning signs that Kahnle is due for even more of a correction - he has allowed six homers and walked 27 batters in 61.1 innings.
Fri Mar 28 201420:14Kahnle cracks Opening Day roster with Rockies
Tommy Kahnle has made the Rockies' Opening Day roster as a reliever.
The Rule 5 pick earned it by allowing just one run over 9 2/3 innings this spring, striking out nine. The 24-year-old will have to stick with the major league club all season or the Rockies will have to offer hiim back to the Yankees for $25,000.
