Wed Jan 22 201418:29Red Sox, Sizemore agree to major league deal
The Red Sox and Grady Sizemore have agreed to terms on a one-year deal, a source tells Rob Bradford of WEEI.com.
The deal is an incentive-laden agreement that will pay Sizemore less than $1 million with incentives that could take it up to as much as $6 million, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports. Mark Sheldon of MLB.com had reported earlier in the day that Sizemore seemed set to sign with a team, and it appears that team was the Red Sox. That it's a major league deal is a bit of a surprise, as Sizemore hasn't played since 2011 due to knee microfracture surgery and hasn't played more than 71 games in a season since 2009. Still, when healthy the 31-year-old is an exceptional talent, owning 139 home runs and 134 stolen bases in his 892 career games. He'll be given a chance to win the Red Sox' everyday center fielder job this spring.

Wed Jan 22 201415:03Sizemore to sign with team other than Reds
According to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, it appears that Grady Sizemore is set to sign with a team other than the Reds.
This would explain why Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said on the radio Wednesday that a deal with Sizemore wasn't going to happen. However, it's unclear who he is now in talks with. The 31-year-old hasn't played since 2011, but he's finally recovered from microfracture surgery on his right knee.

Wed Jan 22 201414:39Jocketty: Reds aren't signing Grady Sizemore

Sun Jan 19 201415:27Reds in 'advanced' talks with Grady Sizemore
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Reds are in "advanced" talks with Grady Sizemore.
Rosenthal cautions, however, that Sizemore could wind up signing elsewhere, as there are "other teams involved." Sizemore hasn't played since 2011 due to multiple surgeries on his knees and back, but he's supposedly healthy now. It's unclear if the Reds are willing to give the outfielder a major or minor league deal, but the latter seems likely. If Sizemore gets a guaranteed contract, it would surely be for a low base salary that includes incentives.

Fri Jan 3 201416:24Reds have been in contact with Grady Sizemore
Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said Friday that he's had discussions with Grady Sizemore's representatives.
"We have [talked]," Jocketty said. "I'm not sure where that is right now. With the holidays, not much has happened." Sizemore hasn't played since 2011 and is coming off microfracture surgery on his right knee (he previously had microfracture surgery on his left knee). Jocketty said the outfielder "appears to be" healthy, though, and the Reds are considering bringing him in as Billy Hamilton insurance.

Tue Dec 10 201308:38Sizemore expected to play in majors in '14
Grady Sizemore's agent said Tuesday that his client will be playing in the big leagues in 2014.
Pardon our skepticism. Sizemore hasn't played in the majors since 2011, but he's finally recovered from microfracture surgery on his right knee and is reportedly drawing "a lot of interest." The Indians are not considered a fit for the 31-year-old.

Mon Nov 11 201317:29Sizemore (knee) healthy, listening to offers
Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports that Grady Sizemore (knee) is healthy and working out in Arizona.
Sizemore hasn't played in the majors since 2011, but he's finally recovered from last September's microfracture surgery on his right knee. He'll almost certainly have to accept a non-guaranteed contract.

Tue Aug 13 201309:46Sizemore (knee) still plans to play again
Grady Sizemore (knee) still plans to continue his playing career.
Sizemore had microfracture surgery on his right knee last September and has been in rehab mode all season. Assuming no setbacks, he will likely sign an incentive-laden contract this winter. The 31-year-old hasn't played in the majors since 2011.

Wed Jul 10 201312:14Grady Sizemore (knee) not ready to return
Grady Sizemore (knee) hasn't set a date to return.
Sizemore had microfracture surgery on his right knee last September and won't talk to teams until he's convinced he's recovered. His injury history made him a long shot to contribute this season in the first place, but at this point teams might wait until 2014 to take a shot on him.

Wed Jun 12 201319:50Report: Twins have interest in Grady Sizemore
Nick Camino of WTAM 1100 in Cleveland reports that the Twins have interest in free agent outfielder Grady Sizemore.
As Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reported earlier this month, Sizemore has resumed baseball activities and is looking to catch on with someone. Cafardo previously speculated that the Mets could also have interest in the outfielder. Sizemore missed all of last season due to injury and was limited to just 104 games from 2010-11, batting only .220/.280/.379 in those contests.

Sun Jun 2 201310:13Grady Sizemore resumes baseball activities
Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that Grady Sizemore (knee) has resumed baseball activities.
Sizemore, who is coming back from last September's microfracture surgery on his right knee, has yet to encounter any setbacks. Cafardo writes that it "shouldn't be long before a long list of teams start to inquire" and lists the Mets as one possibility. Sizemore missed all of last season due to injury and was limited to just 104 games from 2010-11, batting only .220/.280/.379 in those contests. Still, he would be an intriguing name on a deal with low guaranteed money. It's not clear when Sizemore is hoping to sign with someone.

Fri Mar 29 201319:55Grady Sizemore progressing in his rehab
Joe Urbon, the agent for Grady Sizemore, indicated Friday that his client's rehab is going really well.
There is still no timetable on when he'll be ready to progress to baseball activities, but he's likely to generate at least some interest on the free agent market once he does. While he's certainly a long-shot to be a major contributor at the major league level in 2013, he's still just 30-years-old and has tantalizing power/speed combination that all fantasy owners covet.

Wed Jan 9 201312:43Yankees have checked in on Grady Sizemore
According to Anthony McCarron of the New York Daily News, the Yankees have "checked in" on free agent Grady Sizemore.
Sizemore (knee) doesn't plan to sign with a team until he's fully recovered from microfracture surgery, but could be an option for the Yankees around midseason. Even when healthy, it's hard to imagine Sizemore getting more than a minor league deal. The 30-year-old three-time All-Star hasn't appeared in a major league game since the final month of the 2011 season.

Mon Jan 7 201313:03Sizemore (knee) won't sign until he can play
Grady Sizemore (knee) doesn't plan to sign with a team until he is ready to play in live games.
"It could be Opening Day. It could be midseason," agent Joe Urbon told FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal on Monday. "Midseason is more likely." Sizemore underwent microfracture surgery on his right knee in September. The 30-year-old outfielder hasn't appeared in a major league game since the final month of the 2011 regular season.

Thu Dec 20 201215:50Mets 'very interested' in OF Grady Sizemore
According to SNY's Kevin Burkhardt, the Mets are "very interested" in free agent Grady Sizemore.
Sizemore is coming off a second microfracture knee surgery and is not expected to be healthy until the middle of the 2013 season. But the Mets know they aren't going to be contenders and could take a low-risk chance on the 30-year-old three-time All-Star. Sizemore hasn't appeared in a major league game since September 22, 2011.

Mon Dec 3 201216:59Sizemore had another microfracture surgery
Grady Sizemore's agent, Joe Urbon, confirmed that his client had microfracture surgery on his right knee in September.
Oh boy. Sizemore previously had microfracture surgery on his left knee in 2010, but his right knee has given him all sorts of problems over the past couple of years. The oft-injured 30-year-old had attracted interest from multiple clubs this offseason, but it's unlikely he'll be ready to contribute until around midseason.

Sun Nov 25 201210:33'All is quiet' on Grady Sizemore front
Grady Sizemore's agent, Joe Urbon, told Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe that "all is quiet" on his client.
Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reported earlier this month that the Red Sox have "checked in on" Sizemore, but it doesn't appear that Boston or any other club is beating down the door to sign him. It's not surprising given Sizemore's huge injury risk. He'll likely have to settle for an incentive-laden, one-year deal this offseason.

Wed Nov 7 201222:17Red Sox check in on Grady Sizemore
Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports that the Red Sox have "checked in on" Grady Sizemore.
The Sox are looking for outfield help, but Sizemore is probably down the list of preferred options. The oft-injured 30-year-old will almost surely have to settle for an incentive-laden, one-year deal this offseason. He missed all of 2012 due to back and knee surgeries.

Wed Nov 7 201214:55Grady Sizemore hopes to play in 2013
Grady Sizemore's agent, Joe Urbon, said that his client will attempt to play in 2013.
Sizemore didn't play a game this season due to back and knee surgeries. The 30-year-old outfielder hasn't talked to the Indians about a possible return and will likely have to settle for an incentive-laden deal with a low guarantee this winter.
