Thu Jun 10 201018:30Cubs' Nady knocks in three
Starting at first base, Xavier Nady had a two-run homer and a sac fly to drive in three of the Cubs' four runs on Thursday.
That's the good news. That bad is that he made a throwing error in the 10th that lost the game for the Cubs. With Carlos Gomez on first, Craig Counsell laid down a sac bunt. Counsell was thrown out on the play, but Gomez kept going to third and Nady threw the ball over Chad Tracy's head. Gomez came around to score as the ball sailed into left field. Derrek Lee should be back at first on Friday.
Tue Jun 1 201021:49Nady goes 4-for-4, smacks HR and 2B in loss
Xavier Nady went 4-for-4 with a double and a homer and two RBI as the Cubs lost to the Pirates 3-2 on Tuesday.
Nady did about all he could do. Unfortunately, the rest of Chicago's offense decided to sit out another game. Nady drove in the team's only runs and had four of their seven hits. Nady entered the game batting .222/.305/.347, so hopefully this jolt will get him going.

Xavier Nady (elbow) was scratched from Wednesday's lineup.
Nady is still struggling to throw long distances and will take the next few days off. Tyler Colvin started in right field against the Mets.

Thu Apr 15 201014:29Nady says playing outfield has been 'awkward'
During an appearance on the "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000 in Chicago on Thursday, Xavier Nady said playing the outfield without being able to throw long distances has been "awkward."
"It's been kind of awkward playing with a little question mark in the back of your head when you're sitting out there," said Nady, who is still not 100 percent after undergoing Tommy John surgery last July. "Obviously, balls down the line you can get to and let the second baseman make the longer throw. Believe me, my mind has been going crazy when I'm out there trying to remember I'm not 100 percent. I need to be smart. I don't want to make one throw and end up missing a month and hurting everybody."

Mon Apr 12 201017:34Cubs' Nady hits three-run homer in win
Xavier Nady went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer Monday as the Cubs beat the Brewers 9-5.
Nady, who remains limited after Tommy John surgery, was making his second start in right field, but he moved to first base after Derrek Lee got hurt. He could probably play regularly at first base if necessary, so he may start again Wednesday if Lee's thumb is still bothering him.
