Wed Sep 1 202110:08Brandon Nimmo With Five Hits On Monday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo picked up five hits, including a double, in the Mets doubleheader sweep of the Miami Marlins on Monday. Specifically, Nimmo went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, and one run scored in the Mets 6-5 Game 1 win. In Game 2, Nimmo went 2-for-3 with a run scored in the Mets 3-1 win. Nimmo is now batting .298/.417/.416 on the season with five home runs, 22 RBI, and 39 runs scored in 255 at-bats over 74 games. Nimmo remains an elite option for batting average and on-base percentage in all fantasy formats for the stretch run in September. Nimmo should also contribute to run totals for fantasy managers hitting atop the Mets lineup with his elite on-base skillset, should the Mets plate runs more consistently over the final four weeks of the season.

Fri Aug 27 202111:31Brandon Nimmo With Three More Hits On Thursday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-5 in the Mets 3-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. With the Mets offense continuing to struggle, Nimmo and Pete Alonso stand out right now as the only two batters in the lineup swinging a hot bat. Nimmo is now batting .429/.500/.571 in 28 at-bats over his last seven games. Though Nimmo was struggling at the beginning of August, he has clearly put that rough stretch behind him. Nimmo has managed to raise his average to .294 on the season, to go with a .413 on-base percentage, four home runs, 20 RBI, and 37 runs scored in 69 games. While Nimmo will not post huge HR and RBI totals, he remains an elite option for batting average and OBP in all fantasy formats. If and when the Mets decide to start scoring runs, Nimmo should also contribute to run totals for fantasy managers hitting atop the Mets lineup with his elite on-base skill set.

Sun Aug 22 202121:17Brandon Nimmo Reaches Base Four Times On Sunday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and two walks in the Mets 7-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. Nimmo has now gone 5-for-8 with a home run, three runs scored, and two walks over his past two games. Prior to this outburst, Nimmo had gone just .224/.325/.299 with one home run, eight runs scored, four RBI, 10 walks, and two doubles over his prior 77 at-bats. Over the past two games, Nimmo has managed to raise his on-base percentage from .397 to .408 on the season. With Nimmo heating up again at the plate, fantasy managers should be sure to get him back into lineups when the Mets return home on Tuesday to begin a three-game series against the Giants. Nimmo will help fantasy managers with ratios and runs scored in all formats.

Sat Aug 21 202111:34Brandon Nimmo Remains In Funk At Plate
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo went 1-for-4 in the Mets 3-2 loss to the Dodgers on Friday. Nimmo, normally an on-base machine for the Mets, has been struggling at the plate recently. Over 77 plate appearances in August, Nimmo is batting just .224/.325/.299 with just one home run, eight runs scored, four RBI, 10 walks, and two doubles. He has seen his on-base percentage drop from .427 (on July 30) to .397 over this period. Nimmo, along with the majority of the Mets offense, has really struggled in August. Fantasy managers may wish to fade Nimmo in the short term until such time that he can get his bat going again. Once he does, he should help managers with ratios (especially OBP) and runs scored in all formats.

Thu Aug 12 202117:00Brandon Nimmo Drives In Four In First Game On Thursday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo drove in all four runs in the Mets 4-1 win over the Nationals in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Thursday. Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, scored once, and (as mentioned) had four RBI. Despite struggling at the plate over the first week of August, Nimmo is now 6-for-13 (.462) over his last three games with 13 total bases. Nimmo will likely continue to perform as a solid leadoff hitter for the Mets through the remainder of the 2021 campaign. Fantasy managers should keep Nimmo active in all formats, particularly in leagues with on-base percentage as a scoring category.

Thu Aug 5 202111:05Brandon Nimmo Heading To The Bench On Thursday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Braxton Garrett and the Miami Marlins. Albert Almora Jr. is getting the start in center field for the game while Jonathan Villar is leading off. Nimmo started each of the team's last two games after being sidelined briefly with a hamstring injury. He's been a steady presence at the top of the Mets' lineup when healthy this year. Over 49 games, he's slashed .292/.418/.398 with two home runs, 15 RBI and 26 runs.

Mon Aug 2 202117:55Brandon Nimmo Back In The Mets Lineup Monday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (hamstring) is back in the lineup batting leadoff and playing centerfield on Monday against southpaw Jesus Luzardo and the Miami Marlins. Nimmo was pulled during the sixth inning of Friday's 6-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds after experiencing a pinching feeling in his hamstring, then went 0-for-1 off the bench in Sunday's 7-1 loss. The 28-year-old hasn't faced Luzardo yet this season but is hitting .348/.464/.413 overall against lefties in 2021. Luzardo, on the other hand, has been struggling this season and has a 6.87 ERA over 38 innings pitched.

Sun Aug 1 202123:21Brandon Nimmo Pinch-Hits Sunday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (hamstring) came off the bench as a pinch-hitter Sunday, going 0-for-1 with pop-up to the first baseman in the sixth inning of a 7-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. Nimmo had not appeared in a game since being pulled on Friday with what was being described as a "pinch" in his hamstring. It's a good sign that he returned to game action, albeit limitedly, and he reportedly may start Monday night's game. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for updates.

Sun Aug 1 202113:27Brandon Nimmo Could Start Monday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (hamstring) tested his hamstring before Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Reds, and said that he expects be available off the bench Sunday, and could start Monday. Nimmo has been out since feeling a pinch in his hamstring during Friday's game. Fantasy managers will want to keep a close eye out for updates before activating Nimmo in a new scoring period. The Mets have a reputation for either withholding injury information or being overly optimistic. If Nimmo is deemed healthy enough to play, he should be in fantasy lineups in all formats.

Fri Jul 30 202123:06Brandon Nimmo Injured On Friday Night
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (hamstring) could miss a few games. Nimmo "pinched" his hamstring during Friday's matchup against the Reds, although he hasn't yet been ruled out for the remainder of the series. Skipper Luis Rojas labeled the injury as "really, really small," so that's good news for fantasy managers. More information on his status should come sometime soon. However, if Nimmo can't go on Saturday against Cincinnati, Kevin Pillar will likely enter the starting lineup.

Thu Jul 29 202115:39Brandon Nimmo Reaches Base Three Times On Thursday
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and two runs scored in the Mets 6-3 loss to the Braves on Thursday. Nimmo continues to get on base regularly as a table-setter for the Mets who have had issues scoring all season. Over his past 15 games, Nimmo has posted a .231/.429/.346 slash line with 10 runs scored. Although his batting average has been subpar over this time frame, he is still hitting .297/.425/.412 over 44 games on the season. Nimmo should continue to perform as a tremendous leadoff hitter for the Mets through the second half. If the Mets can further bolster their lineup before the trade deadline, his potential to score runs and accumulate RBI would also be enhanced. Fantasy managers should keep Nimmo active in all formats, especially in leagues with on-base percentage as a scoring category.

Thu Jul 8 202120:49Mets-Pirates rained out, will play doubleheader Saturday
NEW YORK (AP) — A game scheduled for Thursday night between the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday. The teams will play a single-admission twinbill beginning at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, trying to make up the game during Pittsburgh’s only scheduled visit to the Big Apple this season. Friday night's game could also be at risk as Tropical Storm Elsa makes its way up the East Coast. It’s the second rainout this week for the Mets, who waited nearly 2 1/2 hours Tuesday to play the Brewers before owner Steve Cohen tweeted that the game was called off. New York made it up Wednesday as part of its ninth doubleheader this season. New York has four more doubleheaders scheduled this season beginning Saturday. As part of COVID-19 safety protocols, twinbills are limited this year to a pair of seven-inning games, meaning the Mets are set to save 26 innings over its 13 doubleheaders — hugely beneficial for Mets manager Luis Rojas...
