Thu Mar 31 201113:42Tyrus Thomas likely out again
Tyrus Thomas (knee) is not expected to play in Friday's game against the Magic.
Thomas is having problems with his surgically repaired knee. Even though the Bobcats are desperate for bodies, they aren't going to put Tyrus at risk.

Wed Mar 30 201118:00MRI comes back negative for Tyrus Thomas
Tyrus Thomas had an MRI on his ailing knee come back negative but has been declared out for Wednesday's game.
The Charlotte Bobcats are dreadfully thin in the front court and Thomas' injury trouble doesn't help matters. We'd like to think that Boris Diaw would pick up the slack with Thomas out but past performance leaves us skeptical.

Wed Mar 30 201110:57Tyrus Thomas now dealing with knee woes
Tyrus Thomas was forced to leave shootaround due to pain in his surgically repaired knee and is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Cavs.
It's always something with Thomas. He was already dealing with sore ribs and also can't seem to shake this troublesome knee. The only thing he's proven so far in his career is that he can't be trusted in real life or fantasy.

Tue Mar 29 201111:15Thomas sat out fourth quarter with rib woes
Tyrus Thomas did not play at all in the fourth quarter Monday night due to sore ribs.
Thomas was clearly struggling with the ribs all night. He was winded after a nine-minute run in the first quarter, short-arming two free throws. And he couldn't even finish the game. A shaky play to begin with, owners can move on from a limited Thomas even if Kwame Brown (personal) misses another game.

Mon Mar 28 201122:44Thomas (ribs) returns to action on Monday
Tyrus Thomas (bruised ribs) returned to action on Monday, scoring seven points on 3-of-5 shooting with six rebounds and a block in 20 minutes.
He wasn't in foul trouble and certainly could have been used all game long, giving owners good insight into his game-readiness, or lack thereof. He belongs on waivers in standard formats, but should be watched closely for the first sign that he's healthy and ready to log minutes.

Mon Mar 28 201118:03Thomas to start in place of Brown (personal)
Tyrus Thomas (bruised ribs) will not only play on Monday but will get the start in place of Kwame Brown (personal).
Thomas has had a disappointing season thus far but could be in line for a huge night with the front court all to himself. If you're only looking for a temporary fill in, Thomas wouldn't be a bad pick. Eduardo Najera and Boris Diaw are also expected to see some time at center giving Thomas a breather.

Mon Mar 28 201111:04Tyrus Thomas (ribs) to return on Monday
After missing two games due to bruised ribs, Tyrus Thomas will make his return to the Bobcats lineup on Monday.
The Bobcats could use another healthy body in their front court. Thomas has been in good position to make a big splash in Charlotte but the injury bug has make his share of visits.

Sat Mar 26 201118:34Tyrus Thomas (ribs) out on Saturday
Tyrus Thomas (ribs) will miss another game on Saturday, as the Bobcats take on the visiting Knicks.
Even healthy, Thomas has been struggling to provide fantasy value behind Boris Diaw in the rotation. This latest injury could be the sign owners needed to move on.

Fri Mar 25 201118:46Ty Thomas (ribs) doubtul to play vs. Boston
Tyrus Thomas isn't expected to play vs. the Celtics on Friday due to his bruised ribs.
X-rays were negative but often bruised ribs make it hard to take a full breath or reach above your head, two rather vital skills for an athletic big man. Boris Diaw will get all the playing time he can handle.

Thu Mar 24 201119:28Tyrus' X-rays come back negative
The X-rays on Tyrus Thomas' ribs came back negative and he is listed as day-to-day.
It's good news for Thomas, but bruised ribs can still be difficult to play through. He may have trouble breathing and was struggling to reach 20 minutes a game behind Boris Diaw anyway. In most formats, the shot-blocker is off the fantasy radar.

Thu Mar 24 201112:47Tyrus Thomas misses practice
Tyrus Thomas (knee) and Stephen Jackson (hamstring) both sat out Bobcats practice Thursday, as expected.
Both players are in danger of being shut down for the year. With a matchup in Boston on Friday looming, the final nail in the Bobcats' playoff hopes should be hammered home.

Wed Mar 23 201121:19Tyrus Thomas out with bruised ribs
Tyrus Thomas left Wednesday's game with bruised ribs and will not return.
Given the amount of pain he was in, along with the fact the Bobcats consider their playoff hopes dead, when we'll see Thomas again is anyone's guess. We're going to call him day-to-day for now.

Wed Mar 23 201120:55Ty Thomas injures hip on hard fall
Tyrus Thomas took a very awkward and hard fall in the third quarter on Wednesday against the Pacers and eventually left for the locker room.
Thomas screamed out in pain and was on the court for more than a minute before getting up and heading for treatment. It looked like a left hip injury and we'll let you know if he returns.

Sun Mar 20 201102:22Thomas a fouling machine in loss to SA
Tyrus Thomas played just 19 minutes in Saturday's loss, racking up five fouls that didn't necessarily limit his playing time, and finishing with 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting with three rebounds and three assists.
It's a case of good news and bad news, as he's putting up decent per-minute numbers but not getting it done for standard league owners, both because of his knee and also because he simply can't be trusted. He may be of use during the Bobcats' last two fantasy playoff weeks that have four games a piece, but this week's three-game slate is enough to get him dropped unless you can afford a stash.

Sat Mar 19 201101:41Ty Thomas still struggling for Bobcats
Tyrus Thomas had just six points, one rebound and one block in Friday's loss.
The minutes aren't there and his knee is still not 100 percent. Drop him for a hot free agent, of which there are plenty of in fantasy right now. Jordan Farmar, Jordan Crawford and Trevor Booker all look like much better fantasy options going forward.

Tue Mar 15 201114:02Thomas not moving into starting five
Coach Paul Silas said he has no plans to start Tyrus Thomas over Boris Diaw.
Diaw has responded well to last week's threats and now appears locked back in as the starting power forward. However, that doesn't mean that Tyrus can't be an asset. In his first time games back, Thomas hasn't topped 23 minutes but still has four blocks and 10 rebounds in two games. As he gets his feet under him, minutes and production will follow.

Fri Mar 11 201122:52Ty Thomas quiet in return for Bobcats
Tyrus Thomas returned from his knee injury and had two points, six rebounds and a block on 1-of-4 shooting in 24 minutes off the bench.
He didn't look great and it may take him a week to get back into form. Boris Diaw started and had five points and four boards in 21 minutes, while D.J. White had a nice line with 16 points, nine boards, two steals and two blocks in 28 minutes off the bench. Once Thomas is back in a groove, look for a serious timeshare at PF, although Thomas could possibly start at some point.

Fri Mar 11 201118:03Tyrus Thomas (knee) will return Friday
Tyrus Thomas (knee) is expected to return to action for the Bobcats on Friday.
This comes from coach Paul Silas, though it's unclear how many minutes Thomas will play after his lengthy layoff. He's been a popular pickup lately and should be snagged if he's still available -- there are plenty of minutes to be absorbed in Charlotte's watered-down frontcourt.

Thu Mar 10 201113:05Tyrus practices, now game-time decision
Tyrus Thomas (knee) practiced on Thursday and is listed as a game-time decision for Friday's game against the Blazers.
Apparently Thomas' setback was not severe at all as he was able to complete practice today. It's a sign that he only sat out of Wednesday's projected return as a precaution due to swelling. There's still concern here, but those stashing should hold the course. There is so much room in Charlotte for a player of Thomas' upside to get minutes.

Wed Mar 9 201111:59Tyrus doesn't sound too concerned about knee
Tyrus Thomas did not sound too concerned about the setback with his knee.
Thomas won't play Wednesday. "Give it another day or two. I don't want to play and have to sit back down," he said. It sounds like normal wear and tear on a joint that has been surgically repaired. The setback is still very concerning, but owners with a deep bench should hang on for a few more days. The Bobcats play again on Friday.
