Tue Mar 14 202308:55Jaylen Brown Has Season-High 43 Points Against The Rockets
Boston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown shot 16-for-25 from the field en route to a season-high 43 points in Monday's 111-109 loss to Houston. He finished 4-for-10 with the three-ball and completed his line with five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Brown has upped his efficiency since the All-Star break and it has helped him to also give a slight boost to his scoring numbers, with the 26-year-old star having averaged 27.3 points since play resumed. More of the same is needed from him for the rest of the way if the C's want to rob Milwaukee of the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

Tue Mar 7 202323:06Jaylen Brown Available Against Portland
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (face) is available for Wednesday's clash with the Portland Trail Blazers. This has been a frequent occurrence for Brown, who suffered a facial fracture prior to the All-Star break. The 26-year-old is coming off a strong showing against the Cavs on Monday, where he finished the night just one assist shy of a triple-double. That said, Brown is always a must-start fantasy option. However, considering Jayson Tatum and Al Horford will play on Wednesday evening, Brown's scoring output should dip by a small margin.

Tue Mar 7 202308:51Jaylen Brown Falls Just Short Of A Triple-Double
Boston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown got very close to a triple-double on Monday, completing a 118-114 overtime loss against Cleveland with 32 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists. He added one block, shooting 12-for-26 from the field and 7-for-10 at the line. Brown had a miserable night from downtown, going only 1-for-7 with the three-ball. The two-time All-Star played a whopping 45 minutes, with the team lacking options after deciding to rest a number of players, including Jayson Tatum (knee). Brown now might be looking at a rest day himself next time out, as he also logged 47 minutes against New York on Sunday.

Fri Mar 3 202318:11Jaylen Brown Available Versus Brooklyn
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (face) is available on Friday night versus the Brooklyn Nets. Brown has been a routine occupant on the injury report because of the facial fracture suffered before the All-Star break. However, he'll be good to go and expected to see a full workload, meaning significantly fewer minutes for Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard.

LeBron James has dominated the National Basketball Association since entering the league straight from high school. He's won numerous awards and has led several teams to an NBA Championship. During the 2022-23 season, the Akron, Ohio, native continued to get it done, despite battling several nagging ailments along the way. However, James' latest issue, a right foot injury, is expected to keep him out indefinitely. LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

LeBron James' Season Recap

Despite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... Tue Feb 28 202317:28Jaylen Brown Removed From Injury Report Against Cleveland
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown missed the team's last game against the New York Knicks due to personal reasons, but he has since been removed from the injury report and officially deemed active for their contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. The 26-year-old is in the midst of the best season of his career and should revitalize a Celtics team that looked quite awful on Monday night. With Brown coming back, Derrick White will likely head back to the bench.

Sun Feb 26 202319:55Jaylen Brown Won't Play On Monday
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (personal) won't play in Monday's game against the New York Knicks. The 26-year-old is dealing with a private matter, so it's anyone's guess if he'll return for Wednesday's meeting with the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers. In the meantime, Derrick White (ankle), who is probable, should take Brown's spot in the lineup. White has averaged 12.5 points and shot 40.1% from deep in 51 starts during the season, so he'll make a fine addition to any fantasy lineup on Monday evening, assuming he plays.

Sun Feb 19 202323:25Jaylen Brown Scores Team-High 35 Points In All-Star Game Loss
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown went one-on-one a few times against his teammate Jayson Tatum and put up a double-double in what was ultimately a loss to Team Giannis in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game. The 26-year-old registered 35 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, and two steals while shooting 16-for-27 from the floor and 3-for-12 from three. Brown had a few exciting moments as he hit some tough, leaning jumpers and gestured that Tatum was too small as he won a one-on-one moment. It was an excellent night for Celtics fans as their two stars were the leading scorers on their respective teams.

Sat Feb 18 202318:10Jaylen Brown Appears Healthy
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (head) participated in All-Star practice on Saturday without a mask. He missed the final three games before the break due to maxillary facial fracture. The fact Brown was seen without any protection on his face means he's likely doing better and should play in the All-Star Game. It also means that Brown should be ready to play once action resumes, which is February 23rd for the Celtics.

Sat Feb 11 202323:06Jaylen Brown Not Expected To Miss "Significant Time"
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (face) won't play on Sunday against Memphis. The All-Star suffered a maxillary fracture in his face after colliding with Jayson Tatum during Wednesday's Atlantic Division matchup with Philadelphia. Fortunately, he's not expected to require surgery, with president of basketball operation Brad Stevens anticipating he won't miss significant time. Nonetheless, there's a good chance Brown could be back soon, and hopefully, the custom-fitted mask he'll need to wear won't impact his play on the court. In the meantime, Sam Hauser should remain in the starting lineup. The 25-year-old has averaged 13.5 points and shot 50% from deep in two starts this season, so there's something there for fantasy managers while Brown is unavailable.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Thu Feb 9 202317:19Jaylen Brown To Miss Some Time With Facial Fracture
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (face) was forced to exit the team's win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday with a facial contusion. Upon further tests, they found that Brown actually suffered a facial fracture and will need to further specialist examination on Thursday. He seems likely to be out through the All-Star break and could be even longer depending on the examination. Derrick White and Malcolm Brogdon will become even better streaming options during Brown's absence.

Wed Feb 8 202321:22Jaylen Brown Won't Finish Wednesday's Game
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (head) has been ruled out for the rest of Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Brown took a shot to the face during the second quarter of Wednesday's contest. He went back to the locker room with the trainers and it doesn't sound like he'll make a return here. Malcolm Brogdon started in the second half for the Celtics. He'd likely move into the starting five if Brown is forced to miss time because of this injury. Fantasy managers should check back on Thursday for another update.

Wed Feb 8 202315:14Jaylen Brown Good To Go Wednesday
Boston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown (illness) will return to the lineup Wednesday against Philadelphia. He sat out the last game against Detroit with an illness but has now recovered well enough to play. Sam Hauser logged a start and put in an impressive performance in Brown's absence against the Pistons but will head back to the bench Wednesday. Brown ended January with a 37-point performance against the Lakers and has averaged 26.5 points in his first two February appearances, so he's been in very good form lately and should be full of confidence ahead of Wednesday's big matchup.

Tue Feb 7 202322:05Jaylen Brown Likely To Play Wednesday
Boston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown (illness) is listed as probable versus the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. Brown missed Monday's game due to a non-COVID illness which certainly got some trade rumors swirling. Brown appears to have recovered enough to play Wednesday and will likely make his return unless anything changes. Sam Hauser scored 15 points in the spot start on Monday and will likely head back to the bench with Brown returning.

Tue Feb 7 202307:15Kyrie Irving Traded To Dallas - Fantasy Basketball Impact
Without a doubt, Kyrie Irving is arguably one of the most naturally gifted players in the National Basketball Association. He's a fantastic ball-handler and can get to the rim with ease. However, the former Duke Blue Devil's career has been surrounded by controversy, ultimately impacting his ability to win an MVP.The NBA trade deadline kicked off with a bang when Irving, who had demanded a trade out of Brooklyn, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. NBA fans and fantasy managers are left wondering how things will play out.To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NBA, make sure to favorite or bookmark the RotoBaller Fantasy Basketball Newspage, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy basketball mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. However, things were apparently going too well, as Irving dropped a bombshell by requesting a trade. His wish was granted, as he was sent to Dallas in exchange for ... [More]
Mon Feb 6 202318:48Jaylen Brown To Miss Monday's Contest
Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Detroit Pistons. The 26-year-old will sit this game out due to a non-COVID related illness. Head coach Joe Mazzulla has decided to move Sam Hauser into the starting five with Brown sidelined. It's an interesting decision by Mazzulla, but this move should give Hauser some streaming appeal. Although, Malcolm Brogdon and Payton Pritchard should also play bigger roles in the rotation. Brogdon is the best streaming option out of the bunch.

Mon Feb 6 202314:35Jaylen Brown Uncertain For Monday
Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown (illness) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Detroit Pistons. The 26-year-old is in danger of missing this game due to a non-COVID related illness. It's a shame because Brown has been on a hot streak lately. Both Malcolm Brogdon and Payton Pritchard would see increased playing time if Brown is forced to sit out. Brogdon is the much better streaming option between the two, but both should have value if Brown is unable to play. Fantasy managers will have to check back later on Monday for another update.
