Wed Jan 4 201201:15PG Earl Watson in line to start for Jazz
Point guard Earl Watson is in line to start for the Jazz after Devin Harris suffered a calf injury on Tuesday.
We have no idea yet of how much time Harris will miss, but Watson will be the starter for however long that may be. He didn't score on Tuesday, but did have eight assists and three steals in 24 minutes. If you are desperate for a point guard right now, go ahead and grab Watson.

Fri Dec 9 201117:00Jazz sign Earl Watson to two-year deal
The Jazz have signed veteran PG Earl Watson to a two-year deal.
Watson is utterly uninspiring as a fantasy option, but he gives Utah a reliable and tough veteran presence behind oft-injured Devin Harris.

Wed Dec 7 201119:22Earl Watson leaning toward signing with Hawks
Unrestricted free agent PG Earl Watson is leaning toward signing with the Hawks.
If this rumor is true, it could be a sign that the Hawks aren't so hot on Kirk Hinrich and his injured shoulder. Watson is unlikely to provide fantasy value regardless of where he signs.

Fri Dec 2 201112:50Earl Watson interested in re-signing w/ Jazz
Unrestricted free agent Earl Watson has "sincere interest" in re-signing with the Jazz.
The two sides have not had any negotiations, but there's a good chance Utah would bring him back for a minimal contract. Watson would support Devin Harris in Utah, and he'll be a backup no matter where he's playing.

Wed Apr 6 201102:28Watson posts balanced line in win in L.A.
Earl Watson posted a balanced line on Tuesday, scoring 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting (including three treys) with eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 36 minutes.
Devin Harris (hamstring) plans to return Thursday, but if you've been relying on Watson's somewhat serviceable numbers, we'd wait to deactivate him until there is a very strong, game-day report that says Harris will start.

Sun Apr 3 201121:12Watson solid once again with Harris out
With Devin Harris (hamstring) out again, Earl Watson had nine points, eight assists and two blocks in Sunday's loss to the Kings.
We have no word on when Harris could potentially return. But anytime Watson starts, he's worth a look as a low-end point guard play. In the last six games (all starts), Watson is averaging 9.5 points, 5.6 assists and 1.5 treys a night.

Tue Mar 29 201101:12Watson posts 13-7-9 line in loss to Wiz
Earl Watson scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with seven rebounds, nine assists, and a steal in 33 minutes in a start for Devin Harris (hamstring) on Monday.
He pops off with one of these every once in a while, but keep in mind that this comes against a Wizards team that is running up and down the court as if it were a playground. Watson is worth a speculative add in you're PG desperate and in a deeper format, but beyond that we're not advising owners to drop anybody of value for him in standard formats.

Sat Mar 26 201123:51Earl Watson quiet in start, Price plays well
Earl Watson started for Devin Harris again on Saturday but had just two points and five assists in 19 minutes.
Ronnie Price came off the bench and had six points, five boards, six assists, three steals and a 3-pointer on 2-of-9 shooting. He fouled out in 30 minutes, but given how poorly Watson is playing, it's possible Price could take over starting duties until Harris returns from his hamstring injury. Harris could miss another week, or be shut down for the season, so keep a close eye on Price, while ignoring Watson.

Fri Mar 25 201102:26Watson looks good, will soon lose spot
Earl Watson had a productive night filling in for the oft-injured Devin Harris (hamstring), scoring 14 points to go with eight assists, three 3-pointers, a steal, and a block on Thursday against the Hornets.
If Devin Harris were ruled out for the season we would show much more interest in Watson, but as things stand now Harris will be back soon, crushing any value Watson might have.

Thu Mar 24 201100:41Earl Watson struggles in start for Harris
Earl Watson had 10 points and one assist on Wednesday in a start for injured Devin Harris.
We told you Watson wasn't a great start tonight and he didn't disappoint. Harris could miss another game with his pulled hammy, but we'd continue to ignore Watson.

Wed Mar 23 201111:26Watson to start in place of Harris
Earl Watson will start against the Grizzlies Wednesday if Devin Harris (hamstring) can't play.
Watson has started six games this season, averaging 7.2 points, 6.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals in those contests. He'll share time with Ronnie Price and is only a desperation spot start.

Tue Mar 22 201101:50Earl Watson could start while Harris is out
Earl Watson scored nine points on 4-of-7 shooting (including a three) with one rebound, no assists, and one steal in 25 minutes off the bench after Devin Harris (hamstring) left Monday's game early in the first quarter.
Aside from the fact that Ronnie Price (toe) returned to action and is likely to split time, Watson doesn't do much statistically with the time he gets. Harris sounds like he'll be out for games on Wednesday and Thursday, and if you're in a 16-team league or deeper you may want to consider Watson in a spot start.

Tue Mar 15 201101:48Watson worth a look if Harris misses time
Earl Watson scored two points on 1-of-2 shooting with four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 25 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Devin Harris (hamstring) was injured late, but truth be told after he spent the post-game talking about how his injury wasn't bad 1) we have unsurprising questions about why he wasn't gutting out a must-win game and 2) we're not sure he will miss any time. Watson has provided mediocre numbers as a starting PG, with averages of 7.2 points, 3.7 boards, and 6.7 assists in six starts this year.

Sat Mar 12 201100:00Earl Watson outplays Devin Harris off bench
Earl Watson had 10 points and nine assists off the bench as the Jazz were blown out by the suddenly hot Timberwolves on Friday.
Starter Devin Harris, who has played very well in Utah, hit just 3-of-7 shots for eight points and two assists. The Jazz are reeling, losers of 10 of their last 13 games, but Harris should bounce back in the next one.

Sat Mar 5 201112:42Earl Watson (lip) game-time on Saturday
Earl Watson (lip) remains a game-time decision on Saturday vs. the Kings.
Watson needed six stitches to close a laceration, but it's not an injury that will keep him out for very long (if at all). His availability won't have a significant impact in fantasy leagues.

Fri Mar 4 201112:48Earl Watson game-time on Saturday
Earl Watson is a game-time decision for Saturday after getting six stitches in his lacerated lip.
Watson is tough and we wouldn't be surprised to see him playing with a fresh flesh wound, though he's not offering fantasy value while Devin Harris is healthy.

Sat Feb 26 201101:10Watson scores two points in start on Friday
Earl Watson started at PG with Devin Harris coming off the bench in his first game with the Jazz, and scored two points on 1-of-4 shooting with three rebounds, three assists, and one block in 19 minutes.
He had a few good games filling in for Deron Williams this season, but he has no real fantasy value as long as Harris is healthy. In other words, be ready for him to have a few good games at least one more time this year.
Thu Feb 24 201101:12Watson starts at PG for Jazz, struggles
Earl Watson started at point guard for the Jazz on Wednesday, but hit just 3-of-11 shots for seven points, five assists and four turnovers in a loss to the Mavericks.
Deron Williams is gone, but Devin Harris should be there on Friday to take over for Watson. In other words, Watson has no fantasy value as of now.
