Mon Apr 28 201411:51Al Jefferson (foot) doubtful for Game 4
Bobcats coach Steve Clifford said that Al Jefferson (foot) is doubtful to play in Game 4 on Monday.
"He couldn't do anything [at shootaround] this morning," Clifford said. If Big Al doesn't suit up it could be a disappointing end to the season for Charlotte, which faces a daunting 0-3 hole in the series and isn't going anywhere with their star player hobbled by a torn plantar fascia. His status isn't likely to be officially determined until just before tip-off.

Sat Apr 26 201421:58Al Jefferson plays well through foot injury
Al Jefferson played through his painful foot injury Saturday and had 20 points, five rebounds and three blocks on 8-of-13 shooting.
He wasn't his old self tonight and the fact he's playing through this kind of pain says something about the man. Unfortunately, the Bobcats are in a deep 0-3 hole and it's all going to be for naught.

Sat Apr 26 201411:19Al Jefferson (foot) will play on Saturday
Al Jefferson (torn plantar fascia) went through shootaround on Saturday and confirmed that he will play in Game 3.
The big man's effectiveness has been limited due to his injury. He scored 18 points in 40 minutes of action during Game 2 but made just 39.1 percent of his shots, well below his 50.9 percent season average. He's having trouble pivoting towards the basket and his movement has clearly stunted the dominant nature that he showed during the regular season.

Fri Apr 25 201416:10Al Jefferson (foot) says he's feeling better
Al Jefferson (foot) said on Friday that he wouldn't be playing if it was still the regular season.
He said his foot felt like he was "walking on hot coals" on Thursday, but he did say he's feeling a bit better. Jefferson was hobbling through Game 2 on Wednesday and he's clearly nowhere near 100 percent. Luckily, the Bobcats won't suit up until Saturday, but that's still probably not going to be enough time for Jefferson to get right. They'll try to get one in the win column at home.

Thu Apr 24 201401:12Al Jefferson could be iffy for rest of series
Al Jefferson, who aggravated his plantar fasciitis injury on Wednesday, could be forced to sit out the rest of Charlotte's series against the Heat, according to Charles Barkley.
Barkley's theory is that the Bobcats aren't going to beat the Heat after digging an 0-2 hole, and the team needs to start preparing for next season and get Jefferson healthy. Shaquille O'Neal said he would play through the injury because he's 'old school,' but resting Jefferson is probably the best plan of action at this point. Consider Jefferson a game-time call for Game 3, and don't be surprised whether he plays or sits. This one could go either way.

Wed Apr 23 201419:35Al Jefferson (foot) goes to the locker room
Al Jefferson (foot) went to the locker room with about two minutes left in the first quarter of Wednesday's game.
His strained plantar fascia is clearly bothering him. He's been slow getting up and down in transition while he has very little agility. Jefferson could be out for the game or he could be getting treatment, but this definitely spells trouble for the Bobcats. We'll pass along any info as it becomes available.

Wed Apr 23 201418:26Al Jefferson (foot) listed as the starter
Al Jefferson (foot) is listed as a starter against the Heat in Wednesday's Game 2.
He went through warmups for about 10 minutes with coach Patrick Ewing and reportedly looked to be doing so without a limp, according to Charlotte beat writer Rick Bonnell. Jefferson may have had a pain-killing shot and he might get another one after showing up to the arena in a walking boot. The Heat will likely test Jefferson and we'll know quickly how he looks tonight.

Wed Apr 23 201417:26Al Jefferson (foot) shows up to arena in boot
Al Jefferson (foot) arrived to American Airlines Arena in a walking boot for Wednesday's Game 2 vs. the Heat.
He said he is going to play earlier today and there has been nothing to suggest otherwise. Jefferson is obviously going to have to play through some pain and may require some pain-killing shots like he did in Game 1's loss. If he's not close to 100 percent, the Bobcats are in big trouble. Stay tuned for an official word on his status.

Wed Apr 23 201410:42Al Jefferson (foot) expects to play Wednesday
Al Jefferson (plantar fascia) said that he "should be good" to play in Wednesday's Game 2.
"I can't say there won't be some kind of pain," Jefferson said. "But I feel like every hour it's getting better and better." We'll confirm his status before tip-off but it sounds like he'll be in uniform. The bigger question is how effective he'll be, especially since the Heat will test his mobility with Chris Bosh at center and what's sure to be an endless stream of pick-and-rolls.

Tue Apr 22 201413:14Al Jefferson may miss Wednesday shootaround
Coach Steve Clifford is unsure if Al Jefferson (foot) will be able to participate in Wednesday's shootaround.
Reading between the tea leaves, this comment would seem to indicate that Jefferson is headed towards being a game-time decision for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Heat. The desperately need Jefferson if they have any hope of stealing this series, but a strained plantar fascia can be a painful injury so this one may come down to tipoff Wednesday night. If Jefferson is unable to play, Bismack Biyombo would be in line for a minutes bump.

Mon Apr 21 201417:47Al Jefferson will play in Game 2 on Wednesday
Al Jefferson (foot) said on Monday he will play in Game 2 against Miami despite dealing with a strained plantar fascia.
"I'm suiting up. It'll take more than that to make me sit down," said Jefferson. He was 4-of-4 from the field before suffering the injury on Sunday, but finished the game going 5-of-13. If the Bobcats hope to win a game this series, they will need Jefferson play at an elite level.

Mon Apr 21 201413:01Al Jefferson (foot) questionable for Game 2
Al Jefferson's strained plantar fascia will not get worse if he continues to play, and his availability for Game 2 on Wednesday is a matter of pain tolerance.
Big Al had an MRI and although the test results haven't been announced, the team seems confident that he can play if he feels well enough. He was wearing a walking boot on Monday and will try to practice on Tuesday, but if not he'll warm up during Wednesday's shootaround before deciding his own status. He's played through plenty of injuries this season and we're optimistic that he'll be in uniform, but any dip in his production could be a mortal blow for the Bobcats.

Sun Apr 20 201418:56Al Jefferson leaves arena in walking boot
Al Jefferson (strained plantar fascia) left Game 1's loss at Miami in a walking boot after feeling a rip in his left plantar fascia.
He admitted he had to "suck it up" after the game and mentioned he felt a pop. Jefferson needed a pain-killing shot after the injury and at halftime, so he's probably not going to feel great on Monday. The Bobcats will likely hold him out of practice in the next couple days and he should be considered questionable for Wednesday. If he's limited, Bismack Biymobo will have some massive shoes to fill.

Sun Apr 20 201418:13Al Jefferson (foot) struggles after injury
Al Jefferson suffered a strained left plantar fascia on Sunday and returned in the second quarter of Game 1's 99-88 loss to the Heat, shooting 9-of-17 from the field for 18 points with 10 boards, one assist, one steal and two blocks.
He shot 4-of-4 from the field before the injury and just 5-of-13 after. Jefferson looked very slow on defense and he clearly wasn't 100 percent. If he's not going to be healthy this series, the Heat are likely going to sweep the Bobcats because Jefferson's interior presence exploits one of their weaknesses. There should be numerous updates on his status leading up to Wednesday's Game 2.

Sun Apr 20 201415:54Al Jefferson strains plantar fascia, returns
Al Jefferson went to the locker room during the first quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Heat with a strained left plantar fascia and returned to action.
He walked back under his own power and the injury didn't appear too serious. Jefferson was having his way with four makes on four attempts before exiting, so the Bobcats need him to stay healthy.

Wed Apr 16 201421:54Al Jefferson w/ 10 & 18 in OT win over Bulls
Al Jefferson had 10 points, 18 rebounds, a steal and two blocks in Wednesday's overtime win against the Bulls.
They were hoping for a Wizards loss, but it looks like they're going to beat Boston. The Bobcats are set to face the Heat in Round 1 and they'll have their hands full with Jefferson. Chris Douglas-Roberts had 13 and Gerald Henderson had 11, as the Bobcats got some great playoff-like experience tonight. Jefferson suffered a left knee contusion tonight, but returned to play through it, and it will likely take a lot more than that to keep him off the court against Miami.

Wed Apr 16 201420:30Al Jefferson (leg) goes to the locker room
Al Jefferson went to the locker room against the Bulls on Wednesday due to a left leg injury.
It's unclear what happened and it looked like he pulled a muscle. The team doctor had to go to the locker room to check on him, so he's almost certainly done for the night. Jefferson did walk back to the locker room under his own power. This would be devastating for the Bobcats if something is wrong. Stay tuned.

Sat Apr 12 201422:26Al Jefferson with 29-12-2 as streak lives
Al Jefferson hit 13-of-19 shots for 29 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks, racking up his 40th double-double of the season in Saturday's win over the Sixers.
Jefferson is a beast in Charlotte and has now gone for 20 & 10 in six straight games. And it was almost seven, as he had 19 points and 11 rebounds in the game before the streak started. He got off to a real slow start this season, but rewarded patient owners with solid second-round fantasy value, which could end up being first round if he stays hot over the last couple games.

Fri Apr 11 201423:23Al Jefferson scores 32 points vs. Boston
Al Jefferson was up to his old tricks on Friday with 32 points, 10 boards, four assists, one steal and three turnovers vs. the Celtics.
A 30-10 isn't even fun for Jefferson anymore. He is a 2-point field goal monster and ranks fifth in the NBA for makes from than range on the season despite playing in just 70 games. Jefferson's offensive game is among the elite and he's a big reason why the Bobcats will have a playoff game in a week.
