Thu Jan 20 201114:55Bonner doubtful for Friday
Matt Bonner (knee) is listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Knicks.
Bonner did not practice on Thursday as he continues to nurse that sore knee. Friday will mark the third straight game that the Red Rocket has missed, making the 3-point specialist waiver wire fodder.

Mon Jan 17 201114:25Matt Bonner iffy for Wednesday
Spurs big man Matt Bonner (knee) did not practice on Monday and remains questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Raptors.
Bonner occasionally lights up from downtown, earning him some favor in fantasyland, but he's limited by the Spurs' deep roster (among other things).

Sat Jan 15 201113:59Matt Bonner out Sunday w/ bruised knee
Matt Bonner will not play on Sunday due to a bone bruise in his right knee.
The veteran sharpshooter is making 1.8 threes per game this year, but has more value for the Spurs than he does for fantasy owners. His minutes could fall to seldom-used rookie Tiago Splitter, but won't have an appreciable impact in fantasy leagues.

Fri Jan 14 201121:30Matt Bonner leaves with knee injury
Matt Bonner won't play the second half of Friday's game against Dallas due to a sore right knee.
Bonner should not be in fantasy lineups to begin with, unless you simply need threes in a very deep league.
Fri Jan 14 201116:02Bonner (knee) available for Friday night
Matt Bonner has been dealing with a sore right knee, but is expected to be available for Friday night's game against the Mavs.
He will be wearing a sleeve on it but there's nothing really here to worry about. For fantasy purposes, he is much too inconsistent to be owned, but does get hot from time to time as he did on Wednesday when he scored 17 points.

Thu Jan 13 201100:14Matt Bonner scores 17 against Bucks
Matt Bonner hit 7-of-12 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points in Wednesday's win.
He'll do this occasionally and helped fill the void left by Richard Jefferson (0-for-5, 0 points) tonight, but doesn't offer fantasy value.
Sun Dec 5 201021:40Matt Bonner hits 4-of-5 threes on Sunday
Spurs big man Matt Bonner scored 14 points off the bench on Sunday, making 4-of-5 three-pointers in 16 minutes.
Bonner was 6-of-25 from downtown in the past six games, an unusually low percentage for the Spurs' sharpshooter, but rediscovered his groove tonight. He's a specialist who should only be owned in deep formats.
Tue Nov 23 201001:16Bonner hits four treys again on Monday
Matt Bonner hit four 3-pointers for the second consecutive game on Monday, scoring 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting with seven rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes off the bench.
He saw extra minutes tonight because DeJuan Blair couldn't keep up with the perimeter shooting of the Magic, and in the process has strung two good games together. He'll get some love for that fact, but we're not buying that this is a trend.
Sun Nov 21 201002:36Bonner hits four treys on Saturday
Matt Bonner hit four 3-point shots on Saturday, finishing with 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting with four rebounds and one assist in 25 minutes off the bench.
With Tiago Splitter (18 points) starting to make his mark, Bonner is little more than a desperation 3-point specialist. You can do better.
Sat Nov 20 201000:30Bonner posts a donut in return from injury
Matt Bonner returned from a back injury but missed all six of his shots, failing to score in 17 minutes.
Bonner will hit some threes and could possibly have more value than Tiago Splitter, who didn't get off the bench again tonight. But neither player should be owned in most fantasy leagues.
Fri Nov 19 201015:16Matt Bonner (back) expects to play
Matt Bonner (back) said on Friday that he feels "good enough" to play in this evening's game against the Jazz.
Bonner has been on fire from downtown since returning from a sprained ankle, but there is reason to think he might not be so effective on Friday. Beat writer Jeff McDonald writes that "Watching [Bonner] bend over to pick up bags, looking like my grandpa, has me skeptical."

Thu Nov 18 201020:33Bonner (back) expected to play Friday
Matt Bonner, who left Wednesday's game with back spasms, is expected to play against the Jazz on Friday.
For those in need of threes, Bonner sounds safe enough to plug into Friday lineups.

Thu Nov 18 201009:34Bonner leaves with back spasms
Matt Bonner left Wednesday's game against the Bulls early due to back spasms.
Bonner got tangled up with Joakim Noah and predictably got the short end of the stick. Consider the Red Rocket day-to-day. He's averaging 2.5 3-pointers made per game on the young season.

Sun Nov 14 201021:48Matt Bonner drains 7-of-7 threes in return
Spurs big man Matt Bonner (ankle) made a splash in his return on Sunday, draining a career-high 7-of-7 three-pointers for 21 points.
Bonner had been out since the season opener and was discouraged from shooting while injured, to preserve his natural form, which makes this performance even more incredible. Although rather boring on a nightly basis, he's worth watching as a source of 3-pointers in deeper leagues.
Sun Nov 14 201002:49Matt Bonner returned to action on Saturday November 13
Matt Bonner returned to action on Saturday November 13.
Sat Nov 13 201013:09Matt Bonner (ankle) ready to return Saturday
After two weeks of rehabilitation, Matt Bonner (sprained ankle) is ready to return for the Spurs on Saturday.
Bonner isn't ready for heavy minutes, which is fine since he won't be getting them anyway while DeJuan Blair and Antonio McDyess are healthy.

Tue Nov 9 201017:05Bonner (ankle) won't play Wednesday
Matt Bonner (ankle) won't play on Wednesday, but could return to action against the Sixers on Saturday.
Even when Bonner does return, he'll be stuck in a crowded Spurs frontcourt fighting for minutes with DeJuan Blair and Tiago Splitter. He shouldn't be a consideration in most fantasy leagues.

Sat Nov 6 201020:05Bonner (ankle) may travel on road trip
Matt Bonner (ankle) will not play on Saturday, but may travel with the team for it's game in Charlotte on Monday.
Gregg Popovich added that he would be unlikely to play, saying "his wife just wants him out of the house." He's heading into the second week of his two week timetable for return, and isn't a real option in fantasy leagues.

Thu Oct 28 201014:15Matt Bonner out 10-14 days w/ sprained ankle
Spurs big man Matt Bonner is expected to miss 10-14 days with a right ankle sprain.
Bonner landed awkwardly on a teammates foot during Wednesday night's game, a tough break for the Spurs on opening night. Antonio McDyess and (when ready) Tiago Splitter should assume whatever minutes Bonner was slated to receive.
