Sat Nov 13 202121:06Kyle Lowry Has Another Good Scoring Performance
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry posted a second consecutive game with 20-plus points on Saturday, finishing a 111-105 win over Utah with 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting. He shot 2-for-6 from downtown and 3-for-3 at the line, adding six rebounds to his line with four assists, two steals and five turnovers. Lowry recorded a triple-double against the Jazz last week, so it looks like he thoroughly enjoys the matchup. The veteran point guard has started to adapt to his new team after looking pretty poor in October, and he's currently getting a lot more scoring opportunities with Jimmy Butler (ankle) on the shelf.

Fri Nov 12 202111:57Kyle Lowry Shows He Can Still Score
With Jimmy Butler (ankle) on the sidelines, Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry took on a greater scoring role. In Thursday's 112-109 loss to the Clippers the 2019 NBA Champion proved to fantasy managers he can still score when it's needed. Over 38 minutes, Lowry scored a season-high 25 points on 17 shots, with five assists, three rebounds, two steals, and four three-pointers. Lowry's now eclipsed 18 points in three of his last four contests, and seems to be finding his groove in this Heat offense. If the buy-low window is still open, managers may want to throw out a last-minute offer before it closes for good this season.

Tue Nov 9 202102:22Kyle Lowry Held Scoreless In 37 Minutes
On Monday, the Miami Heat lost 113-96 to the Denver Nuggets, and box-score-searching eyes will quickly notice the giant goose egg next to Kyle Lowry in the points column. For the first time since Dec. 9, 2018, Lowry failed to score a point. In 37 minutes, the six-time All-Star was 0-for-8 from the floor and 0-for-6 from three. He did add four assists, three rebounds, a block, and a steal, but the zero points are startling nonetheless. Lowry came into tonight's game with at least 20 points in two of his last three, but this now marks his sixth outing of the year with less than 10 points through the season's first nine games. The 2019 Champion should bounce back, but he's not even a top-75 option in nine-category leagues at the moment, and managers could be forgiven for leaving him on the bench until the scoring becomes more consistent for the 35-year old.

Sun Nov 7 202109:01Kyle Lowry Goes For A Triple-Double On Saturday
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry had his best game in a Heat jersey thus far in Saturday's win over the Utah Jazz. He posted his first triple-double of the year in the game, going for 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. He shot 8-for-11 from the field in the game, including 3-for-5 from three-point range. Lowry has had a bit of a sluggish start to the year. He's been held to single-digits in scoring in five of eight games so far. We'll see if Saturday's big game can help turn his season around. Next up for Lowry and the Heat is a matchup against the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

Sat Nov 6 202118:46Kyle Lowry, KZ Okpala Get Green Light To Play Saturday
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry (ankle) and power forward KZ Okpala (ankle) have both been cleared to suit up Saturday against the Jazz. Lowry is the more pertinent of the two, having served as the new starting PG for the Heat. While he has scored in single digits in five of his first seven games, he has dished out 7.1 assists per contest, right in line with his career production. That being said, he'll face a difficult Jazz defense Saturday, likely allowing him to be faded in DFS contests. Okpala returns from a two-game absence, but he has been used sparingly off the bench this season.

Fri Nov 5 202120:10Kyle Lowry Questionable Against Utah
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry (ankle) has been deemed questionable ahead of Saturday's matchup against the visiting Jazz. The veteran sprained his left ankle during the third quarter of Thursday's loss to the Boston Celtics and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the contest. The 35-year-old has struggled offensively during his first seven games in South Beach, averaging just 10 points. Nonetheless, if Lowry does play, he could be limited, making him a potentially precarious choice in all fantasy formats. However, if he doesn't, Tyler Herro, who has been on fire this season, will probably draw the start.

Thu Nov 4 202121:52Kyle Lowry Leaves Thursday's Game With Sprained Ankle
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry (ankle) left Thursday's game versus the Boston Celtics with a sprained left ankle and will not return, according to the team. Lowry hopped into the locker room on one leg after Heat forward Duncan Robinson fell into Lowry's lower body. The 35-year-old finished the night with six points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals before exiting the game in the early fourth quarter. More information should be available after the game on Lowry's status. Should he miss time, Heat guard Tyler Herro would be a likely candidate to move into the starting lineup.

Thu Oct 28 202119:21Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry Probable For Friday
Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo (knee) and Kyle Lowry (elbow), listed as probable, are expected to suit up for Friday's game against the Hornets. Both Adebayo and Lowry should be out there, though the team could opt to sit one or both of them, as it is the first leg of a back-to-back. Adebayo has taken a hit in the playmaking department with Lowry in town, though the big man remains one of the premier threats around the rim, as well as a versatile defender. The veteran Lowry should continue to be an underrated source of assists with so many offensive weapons surrounding him in Miami.

Sun Oct 24 202120:57Kyle Lowry Uncertain For Monday
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry (ankle) is questionable to play against the Orlando Magic on Monday. Lowry is still recovering from a sprained ankle he suffered in the season opener last Thursday and missed Saturday's game. The Heat offense looked in disarray without Lowry as Gabe Vincent was pedestrian as a starter. If Lowry is out again, Vincent will likely make his second straight start, but Tyler Herro will be the person to look for. Herro is coming off a 30-point, 10-rebound performance and is playing exceptionally well to start the season.

Sat Oct 23 202118:43Kyle Lowry Ruled Out For Saturday’s Contest
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry (ankle) will be unavailable for Saturday's game against the Pacers due to an ankle injury. Gabe Vincent slides into the starting five in his place and will see a bump in DFS appeal, although Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler also stand to see their value increased due to added ballhandling opportunities. Lowry's Heat debut was scuttled by a 1-for-8 shooting performance earlier in the week. The six-time All-Star remains a must-start season-long fantasy commodity when healthy, but how quickly he acclimates to Miami's mix remains to be seen. His next chance to suit up comes Monday vs. Orlando.

Sat Oct 23 202117:42Kyle Lowry A Game-Time Call Against Visiting Pacers
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry (ankle) is considered a game-time call for Saturday's matchup against the Pacers. The veteran sprained his left ankle during Thursday's bout against the Milwaukee Bucks, relegating him to only 24 minutes of action. He also shot an abysmal 1-for-8 from the floor, and he finished with just five points during his debut with his new squad. Nonetheless, regardless of Lowry's designation, the ailment may continue to limit him from a production and minutes standpoint. As a result, Tyler Herro, who posted 27 points against the defending champs, could be in store for another efficient outing.

Fri Oct 22 202121:14Kyle Lowry In Danger Of Sitting Against Indiana
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry (ankle) is listed as questionable heading into Saturday's matchup in Indiana. Lowry sprained his left ankle during the opening night rout over the reigning NBA Champs, the Bucks. It wasn't Lowry's night on Wednesday, as he would go on to finish with only five points on a rough 1-for-8 shooting effort. Nonetheless, Tyler Herro will probably slide into the starting lineup if the longtime Raptor can't suit up against Indiana, making him a must-start in all fantasy formats. Herro looked fantastic against Milwaukee, finishing with a team-high 27 points while draining 50 percent of his shots from deep (eight attempts).

Thu Oct 21 202121:08Kyle Lowry Returns To The Game Thursday
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry (ankle) has returned to the game Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks. Lowry briefly went to the locker room after turning his ankle on the ankle of Grayson Allen. Lowry did not miss much time and is good to go for the remainder of the game. It remains to be seen if Lowry will have any lingering effects of the injury after the game. If Lowry is limited at all, Tyler Herro will likely pick up the slack.

Thu Oct 21 202121:02Kyle Lowry Briefly Leaves Game Thursday
Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry (ankle) went to the locker room during Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, but has returned to the bench. Lowry twisted his ankle on a drive and immediately limped off into the locker room. The good news is Lowry did not stay for long and was quickly back on the Miami bench. Lowry is likely questionable to return to the game and the hope is he has not suffered a long-term injury to spoil his debut.

Fri Jul 30 202101:32Raptors take Florida State's Scottie Barnes with 4th pick
TORONTO (AP) — Scottie Barnes hopes to achieve greatness in the NBA. The Toronto Raptors believe he’s got it in him. The Raptors selected the 6-foot-9 Florida State forward with the fourth pick in the NBA draft Thursday night. Boasting a nearly 7-foot-3 wingspan, Barnes is a talented, versatile defender. He’s also an unselfish player who was a double-figure scorer in Florida’s State’s balanced attack. Still, he struggled with his shooting, making 11 of 40 3-pointers (27.5%) and 62% of his free throws. “If they feel like they need to fix something in it, I’m willing to work with them to try to fix whatever it needs,” Barnes said about letting Toronto’s coaches try to improve his stroke. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to try to be the best player I can be. I’m trying to achieve greatness.” Barnes was the ACC Freshman of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year in his lone season at Florida State, averaging 10.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. “He’s a multi-faceted, multi-positional,... Thu Jul 29 202121:12Raptors take Florida State's Scottie Barnes with 4th pick
TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Raptors chose Florida State forward Scottie Barnes with the fourth pick in the NBA draft Thursday night. The 6-foot-9 Barnes was the ACC Freshman of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year awards in his lone season at Florida State, averaging 10.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. Dressed in a floral-patterned white suit, Barnes leapt to his feet and pumped a fist in celebration when NBA Commissioner Adam Silver called his name. In choosing Barnes, the Raptors passed on Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs, a freshman guard viewed as a potential replacement for All-Star Kyle Lowry, who is an unrestricted free agent. Orlando chose Suggs with the fifth pick. Barnes, who boasts a nearly 7-foot-3 wingspan, is a talented and versatile defender. He’s an unselfish player who was a complimentary double-figure scorer in Florida’s State’s balanced attack, but he made just 11 of 40 3-pointers (27.5%) and 62% of his free throws. Sun May 30 202111:43East champs no more, the Heat start to look to what's next
MIAMI (AP) — Not even an hour into the offseason, Jimmy Butler was already looking ahead. There was no run to the NBA Finals this year for the Miami Heat, not even a single playoff victory for the team that rolled through the Eastern Conference in the restart bubble at Walt Disney World last summer. And when it was over, when Miami’s four-game ouster by Milwaukee was complete, Butler quickly summed up the offseason plan. “We can be better,” Butler said. “We’ll be better.” The Heat don’t have a pick in this year’s draft, at least for now, and likely will have somewhere around $25 million in cap space that they can choose to use this summer. Plenty of decisions need to be made about the roster for next season, but the clear cornerstones — Butler and Bam Adebayo, whose $163 million, five-year extension begins this fall — are among the selling points to free agents. Among those who’ll likely be considered, assuming he decides to look for a new team: Toronto’s Kyle Lowry, who insists that he... [More]
Mon May 17 202117:06Hoping for home: Raptors thank Tampa, but clamor for Toronto
Fred VanVleet has nothing but great things to say about Tampa. He likes the food. The people in the arena are friendly. The temporary accommodations for the Toronto Raptors were as good as anyone could expect. He didn’t even mind that an alligator was living in his backyard. The Raptors’ guard has just one complaint. “It’s just not Toronto,” VanVleet said. “It’s not where we’re supposed to be.” Toronto’s runs of seven consecutive winning seasons, seven consecutive playoff seasons and five consecutive 50-win seasons are over, after a season like none other for the Raptors. They haven’t played in Canada since February 2020, had to make do on the Gulf coast of Florida this season, watched players get hurt, watched players and most of the coaching staff deal with coronavirus-related issues, and it all added up to a dismal 27-45 record. Now comes an offseason where point guard Kyle Lowry — he's now called the GROAT, or the greatest Raptor of all-time — is a free agent. There also is uncertainty... [More]
Mon May 3 202102:31Lowry leads depleted Raptors past Lakers; LeBron exits early
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Lakers were dealt another disappointing loss, this time by the short-handed Toronto Raptors. But seeing LeBron James head to the locker room early served as a reminder it could have been much worse. James left with 6:42 to play as the Raptors defeated the Lakers 121-114 on Sunday night. Los Angeles coach Frank Vogel said it was a precautionary move to pull James in his second game back after missing 20 because of a sprained right ankle. James said he would wait to see how his ankle felt before deciding if he could play against Denver on Monday, but acknowledged it has yet to hold up for an entire game. “The first half, it feels really good. Obviously warming up for the game, everything is going well,” said James, who had 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists. “Last two games at halftime, you know, after the break, it’s kind of gotten a little sore on me — a little tight. "And obviously Coach decided not to put me back in towards the end because of... [More]
