Thu Jan 30 201417:23Xavier Henry (knee) targeting mid-February
Xavier Henry (strained knee) is expected to miss "a couple more weeks," according to Mike D'Antoni.
An MRI on Monday was uneventful but Henry has already suffered a few setbacks, so hopefully he'll be fully recovered by mid-Feburary. He'll return to a replenished Lakers' roster, assuming guys like Jordan Farmar, Steve Blake and Steve Nash can stay healthy, and there's no reason to consider him outside of deep leagues.

Mon Jan 27 201417:01No changes on Xavier Henry after MRI
An MRI on Monday indicated Xavier Henry's knee has no changes.
No news is good news for Henry, who has seen his target date pushed back multiple times. He has a bone bruise to his knee and should be targeting a return around mid-February. Manny Harris has stepped into his minutes quite well and the Lakers won't miss Henry much.

Fri Jan 24 201417:43Xavier Henry (knee) out another 10-14 days
Xavier Henry (knee) will miss another 10-14 days to recover from his knee strain, Mike D'Antoni said on Friday.
The Lakers are going to scale back his workouts and he just can't catch a break. Back on Dec. 30, Henry was expected to return in 7-10 days, but he's going to miss five more games and the entire month of January basedon D'Antoni's estimation. He's not worth owning in almost any format.

Thu Jan 23 201416:21Xavier Henry (knee) could return Sun. or Tue.
Mike D'Antoni is optimistic that Xavier Henry (bruised knee) will be ready to play on Sunday or Tuesday.
"Maybe. I'm being positive. I don't know," D'Antoni said. "He said he feels better." Henry increased his workload during Thursday's practice and was also optimistic as he left the arena, but we'll get a clearer idea of his status in the next few days.

Mon Jan 20 201419:08Xavier Henry will not play on Thursday
Xavier Henry (knee) will not play in Thursday's game against the Heat.
He's not going to play tonight and the Lakers have an evaluation set up for him on Wednesday. Henry is going to need to practice before the Lakers give him the green light. He can't shoot very well and doesn't have much fantasy value even with the Lakers rolling with a lot of D-League players right now.

Tue Jan 14 201422:55Xavier Henry to miss another week
Xavier Henry will miss at least one more week of action with a right knee strain after being examined on Tuesday.
He'll be re-evaluated a week from now, so fantasy owners can count him out for at least four more games. In the meantime, Kendall Marshall, Jodie Meeks and Nick Young will all see a few extra minutes in his absence.

Mon Jan 13 201416:31Xavier Henry has knee soreness from workout
Xavier Henry experienced knee soreness during Sunday's workout and will not play vs. Cleveland on Tuesday.
He just did some running and light shooting, so the soreness is certainly a discouraging sign. Henry's knee has kept him out since Dec. 31 and his timetable might be pushed back a little more. Fantasy owners can avoid him for the most part because of his sub-par shooting percentages. Meanwhile, Jodie Meeks and Nick Young should be owned in all standard leagues until Kobe Bryant (knee) returns.

Mon Jan 13 201414:23Xavier Henry (knee) re-evaluated Tuesday
Xavier Henry (knee) will be re-evaluated on Tuesday, but Mike D'Antoni doesn't expect him to immediately return to action.
"I don't think he'll get the all clear yet," D'Antoni said, which makes sense since Henry said he still feels some "weirdness" in his knee. Check back for the latest updates on Tuesday afternoon.

Sun Jan 12 201415:30Xavier Henry does some running Sunday
Xavier Henry did some running on Sunday and was shooting with teammates at the end of practice.
He is going to be re-evaluated on Monday and the Lakers could have some information. Unlike some other teams, the Lakers have been forthcoming with the injury news on their players. As for Henry, his fantasy value isn't going to be too great with his inability to convert at the free throw line. Owners of Jodie Meeks and Nick Young shouldn't be overly concerned about a drop in production upon Henry's return.

Sat Jan 11 201409:39Xavier Henry (knee) hopes to return Tuesday
Xavier Henry (bruised knee) will be re-evaluated on Monday in the hopes that he can return for Tuesday's game vs. the Cavaliers.
Henry's return would be a welcome relief for the injury-riddled Lakers, who may also get Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash back before the end of the month. Henry is averaging 10.1 points, 0.6 threes and 1.1 steals in 22 minutes per game this season.

Mon Jan 6 201417:06Xavier Henry's timetable pushed back
The timetable for Xavier Henry (right knee) has been "moved back a bit from Jan. 9 to Jan. 13-14.
He suffered a knee sprain back on Dec. 29 and now he seems like he'll need to miss at least two weeks. The Lakers are unlikely to have Henry in any of their three games this week and Henry should be considered questionable for January 14th against the Cavs. Kendall Marshall will get all the minutes he can handle at point guard while Nick Young and Jodie Meeks should be the primary options on the wing. On the flip side, their defense looks pretty porous with this unit.

Sun Dec 29 201322:30Xavier Henry leaves Sunday w/ strained knee
Xavier Henry strained his knee during Sunday's game and he will not return.
We should get a better feel for the severity of the strain on Monday. If he's forced to miss any games, beginning Tuesday vs. the Bucks, the Lakers would be even more desperate for playmakers and Nick Young, Wes Johnson and Jodie Meeks would all absorb a few extra minutes.

Wed Dec 25 201320:17Xavier Henry scores 14 points in 26 minutes
Xavier Henry scored 14 points in his move back to the bench on Wednesday, adding five boards, two assists, two steals and four turnovers.
His three starts at point guard didn't go swimmingly with a 2.0:2.3 assist:turnover ratio while shooting 32.5 percent from the field. Henry's minutes should he on their way down and only shooting 63 percent from the charity stripe isn't going to help his case for ownership in most fantasy leagues.

Tue Dec 24 201316:24Xavier Henry shifts to Lakers bench Wednesday
Xavier Henry will move to the Lakers' bench on Wednesday with Jordan Farmar (hamstring) returning to start at PG.
Henry has been underwhelming in five starts this season, averaging 14.0 points on 33.9 percent shooting with just 1.6 assists vs. 1.6 turnovers per game. He's playing under 20 minutes as a reserve this season and can safely be dropped for a FA with more upside.

Tue Dec 24 201303:17Xavier Henry doesn't have any assists
Xavier Henry did not have any assists in his third start at point guard on Monday with 13 points, six boards, one steal and one block in 34 minutes.
To make matters worse, he shot 3-of-12 from the field and 7-of-14 from the line. The Lakers had just 12 assists on their 30 field goals. They need Jordan Farmar back badly and Henry's role will likely take a big hit upon his return. If Henry is still somehow sitting out there on your wire for a shallower format, he probably belongs there.

Sun Dec 22 201301:44Xavier Henry salvages night with 9 FTs
Xavier Henry hit just 2-of-9 shots for 13 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 36 minutes on Saturday, but also hit 9-of-10 free throws.
Henry looks like a nice pick up for the injured Lakers and started tonight's game. Expect him to start on most nights with Kobe Bryant out for the next month or two, and hope that he can replicate Friday's game when he had 21 points in 42 minutes against the Wolves on a nightly basis.

Sat Dec 21 201301:58Henry posts 21-4-4 line in rare start at PG
Xavier Henry started at point guard for the depleted Lakers on Friday, scoring 21 points on 8-of-19 shooting (1-of-3 from deep, 4-of-6 from the line) with four rebounds, four assists and three steals in 42 minutes.
Jordan Farmar is targeting a return on Christmas, but until then Henry is going to have his hands on the ball a lot of the time. He has major fantasy issues if you're looking beyond that, however, since the only category he has shown any proficiency in has been scoring. He's worth a look as a short-term add -- just don't drop anybody of value to do it.

Thu Dec 19 201316:18Xavier Henry may step in as starting PG
With Kobe Bryant (knee) out approximately six weeks, Xavier Henry is expected to handle starting PG duties for the Lakers.
Jordan Farmar will take over the job once he returns from his hamstring injury, but he was recently ruled out for another week, and Steve Nash (back, hamstrings) is nowhere near returning. Henry makes an interesting short-term play with season averages of 9.6 points, 0.7 threes, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. On the other hand, his 0.83 assist-to-turnover doesn't give us much faith in his PG abilities.

Mon Dec 16 201321:50Henry scores 18 points off the bench
Xavier Henry scored 18 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 6-of-14 shots (no threes) with six rebounds, three assists and three steals in 27 minutes.
Henry also hit all six of his free throw attempts, which is typically a problem for the 61.8 percent career foul shooter. Henry also struggles to hit threes, steal or block the ball, so owners should make him prove his worth over time before paying him much attention.
