Wed Feb 19 201402:28Boris Diaw plays well in start for Splitter
Boris Diaw had 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and a steal on 6-of-10 shooting in another start on Tuesday.
Any time Tiago Splitter is out, Diaw is a decent spot start in fantasy. But he's disappeared at times this season and he's likely to do so again. Diaw is hot with Splitter hurting, and is averaging 13.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 0.8 3-pointers over his last four games.

Wed Feb 12 201422:30Boris Diaw starts, shines in win over Celtics
Boris Diaw is on the comeback trail and played well on Wednesday, getting the start and hitting 8-of-12 shots and a 3-pointer for 18 points, three rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes.
Diaw had been a mess, following up a hot streak with two week's of duds until turning it around over his last three games. If he's on waivers in your league, there's a reason for it, as he scored five or fewer points in three of his four games from Jan. 29 to Feb. 6, which included a flu-DNP. But over his last three, Diaw is playing well again, averaging 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and a 3-pointer. Of course, his hot streak includes missed games for Tiago Splitter, and once Splitter is back in action, it will be tough to trust Diaw to play well consistently.

Sat Feb 8 201422:11Boris Diaw plays well in return from illness
Boris Diaw returned from a one-game absence on Saturday with 13 points, four assists, four rebounds, one block and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes.
The Charlotte crowd gave him some boos when he touched the ball, but Diaw turned in one of his better games of the season. He scored just nine points combined in his two previous games and tonight's line does come with a grain of salt because Tiago Splitter (shoulder) did not play. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.

Sat Feb 8 201412:14Boris Diaw (food poisoning) probable Saturday
Boris Diaw is expected to return from his recent bout of food poisoning on Saturday.
He sat out Thursday's game but should be ready to play his usual role, so owners should expect numbers in line with his January averages -- 9.3 points on 58 percent shooting, 1.0 triples, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.5 blocks.

Thu Feb 6 201417:51Boris Diaw out Thursday w/ food poisoning
Boris Diaw has officially been ruled out of Thursday's game due to food poisoning.
Tim Duncan is already sidelined to get rest after a double-OT thriller on Wednesday, which means Gregg Popovich will have to get very creative with his lineups. Tiago Splitter, Jeff Ayres, Matt Bonner and Aron Baynes should all play extra minutes, and with Kawhi Leonard (hand) also sidelined it should be a busy night for Danny Green. Plan accordingly.

Thu Feb 6 201415:23Boris Diaw questionable w/ food poisoning
Boris Diaw is questionable for Thursday's game due to food poisoning.
San Antonio is already playing without Tony Parker (back), Kawhi Leonard (hand) and Tim Duncan (rest), so losing Diaw would be a huge blow to their frontcourt. Tiago Splitter will get heavier minutes at center with Duncan out and guys like Aron Baynes and Jeff Ayres may also have to step into bigger roles.

Tue Feb 4 201400:34Boris Diaw gets minutes w/ little production
Boris Diaw played 32 minutes in a start on Monday vs. the Pelicans, scoring five points with two boards, two assists, two steals and one turnover.
He actually has a higher usage rate in the starting lineup, but his overall stats are down. Interestingly, Diaw is blocked 15.8 percent of the time when he's starting vs. 7.8 when he comes off the bench. He isn't one of coach Greg Popovich's main guys and is a bit too unpredictable to own in most formats.

Mon Feb 3 201419:47Boris Diaw starting on Monday night
Boris Diaw will start next to Tony Parker, Cory Joseph, Danny Green and Tim Duncan against the Pelicans.
This isn't really news or anything with coach Gregg Popovich shuffling his lineup. Diaw has better numbers off the bench, so there's no reason to add him based on this development. Tiago Splitter moving to the bench doesn't hurt his value much either.

Sun Feb 2 201401:05Boris Diaw scores 14 off Spurs bench
Boris Diaw came off the bench and hit 5-of-6 shots for 14 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and a block in 29 minutes on Saturday.
The return of Tiago Splitter didn't hurt him tonight, and with all the injuries the Spurs are dealing with, Diaw should continue to hold some value over the next few weeks. Diaw also bounced back after disappearing against the Bulls on Wednesday, when he had four points and three rebounds in the same amount of time.

Thu Jan 30 201401:28Boris Diaw comes back to earth Wednesday
Boris Diaw was nearly invisible against the Bulls on Wednesday, hitting just 1-of-4 shots for four points, three rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes.
Diaw as cruising along before tonight's road block, hitting double digits in four straight games and setting a couple season highs in scoring. He burned a lot of fantasy owners tonight in all formats, but given how injured the Spurs are right now, he's still going to be a fairly safe fantasy play on most nights. Or at least, he should be.

Tue Jan 28 201423:38Boris Diaw sets season high with 22 points
Boris Diaw started and hit 9-of-20 shots for a season-high 22 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two 3-pointers in Tuesday's loss to the Rockets.
Diaw is a nice player right now, should be added in most leagues, and given consideration in daily money leagues due to his low salary. The Spurs are now one of the most banged up teams in the league and lost Manu Ginobili tonight, meaning Diaw's going to get all the minutes he can handle until further notice. Yes, Tiago Splitter is due back in the near future, but Diaw can also play both forward spots (Leonard) and even some shooting guard (Ginobili).

Sun Jan 26 201415:43Boris Diaw keeps it going in the start at MIA
Boris Diaw played well in his 27 minutes of action against the Heat on Sunday with 15 points, one board, three assists and three 3-pointers.
He was charged with the unenviable task of guarding LeBron James today and wasn't too shabby in the role. Diaw has turned in three consecutive productive games with Kawhi Leonard out of the lineup and deserves to be owned in standard leagues.

Fri Jan 24 201423:19Boris Diaw scores 21 points off bench
Boris Diaw scored a season-high 21 points against the Hawks on Friday with five boards, two assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers on 8-of-10 from the field.
His minutes have really jumped up and is one of a few forwards on the Spurs right now and Diaw's eight field goals set a season high. It's never easy to count on Gregg Popovich, but there is just too much opportunity for Diaw. He's a bit of a low-ceiling player, but he's worth a look in standard leagues with all the injuries for San Antonio.

Thu Jan 23 201401:20Boris Diaw scores 14 in Spurs loss
Boris Diaw hit 5-of-8 shots and two 3-pointers for 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal in Wednesday's loss.
Diaw was expected to see a boost with Tiago Splitter down and out, and the Spurs lost Kawhi Leonard with a broken hand tonight. It would be surprising if Diaw doesn't quickly become more relevant than he has been if Leonard misses a month or so, as we expect him to.

Sat Jan 18 201400:39Boris Diaw plays season-high 38 minutes
Boris Diaw made 6-of-9 shots in a season-high 38 minutes of action on Friday, finishing with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Diaw's nice evening couldn't prevent the Spurs from their first loss in seven games, but it's a reminder of the central role he'll play with Tiago Splitter (shoulder) out of commission until roughly early February.

Fri Jan 17 201419:28Boris Diaw starting against the Blazers
Boris Diaw will start at center against the Blazers on Friday.
Jeff Ayres will move to the bench. Diaw started the second half on Monday and didn't do much with the first unit. The Spurs are also expected to send Manu Ginobili back to the bench tonight.

Tue Jan 14 201400:52Diaw sputters despite starting the 2nd half
Boris Diaw sputtered despite starting the second half of Monday's game, finishing with just two rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 22 minutes.
Even in San Antonio where weird stuff happens all the time, this line is a real head-scratcher as Diaw didn't attempt a single shot. Owners picking him up on the heels of injuries to Tiago Splitter and Danny Green will probably want to throw this game in the circular bin, though it does move the needle the wrong way just a little bit.

Mon Jan 13 201421:27Boris Diaw starts the second half vs. NO
Boris Diaw started the second half for the Spurs vs. the Pelicans.
Coach Pop is a up to his old tricks, but the move holds quite a bit of weight with the Danny Green injury. Diaw should get more looks on offense for the Spurs in the paint, making him a nice player to own in standards at least until Tiago Splittler (shoulder) is back.

Wed Jan 8 201421:43Boris Diaw quiet in start vs. Mavericks
Boris Diaw started for the Spurs on Tuesday, but had just six points, five rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block on 2-of-5 shooting in 29 minutes.
Diaw is set to get a lot of minutes with Tiago Splitter out indefinitely, but didn't do much with them tonight, at least on the offensive side of things. Like most players coached by Gregg Popovich, Diaw will likely have some nice lines mixed in with some duds. But as long as Tolliver is our, Diaw at least should be given consideration in fantasy on nights when he's starting.

Wed Jan 8 201419:11Boris Diaw starts vs. Mavericks
Boris Diaw will start vs. the Mavericks on Wednesday.
He's made six starts before this game and coach Gregg Popovich decided to shake things up. Jeff Ayres was starting with Tiago Splitter (shoulder) out for about a month, but only played 22 minutes on Tuesday. Diaw played 26 minutes in that game and is worth owning in standard leagues while Splitter is out.
