Thu Mar 1 201201:09Steve Novak hits five more treys in win
Steve Novak hit 6-of-9 shots and five more 3-pointers for 17 points in Wednesday's win.
Novak's threes were a key in coming back from a 17-point deficit tonight, and he's been able to stay hot despite the fact the Knicks are finally getting healthy. Over his last five games, Novak is averaging 13.6 points and 4.0 3-pointers per game, and is hitting an amazing 56 percent from downtown over that stretch. He doesn't do much outside of those three categories, but he can singlehandedly win 3-pointers for you every week.

Thu Feb 23 201222:12Novak hits four threes in Thursday's loss
Steve Novak hit 4-of-5 shots from the field (all threes) on Thursday, finishing with 12 points, two turnovers, and no other stats in 19 minutes off the bench.
Novak was one of the few Knicks players that looked good tonight, and he now has 19 triples in his last six games. That's good enough for an add in 12-team formats if you need 3-point shooting.

Thu Feb 23 201200:46Novak gets hot, hits five treys in easy win
Steve Novak hit 6-of-12 shots and five 3-pointers on his way to 17 points in Wednesday's easy win over the Hawks.
Novak has scored 14, 5, 14, 8 and 17 points in each of his last five games, but the common thread is 3-pointers, as he's drained 15 of them over that stretch. If you need a 3-point shooter there may not be a better one on waivers, but it really depends on your league's format as to whether he's worth picking up or not. He's getting just over 20 minutes per game, and while he's been very productive with them, a slump would quickly end his run.

Mon Feb 20 201223:15Novak hits just 3-of-10 shots on Monday
Steve Novak hit just 3-of-10 shots on Monday with Carmelo Anthony (groin) back in the fold, finishing with eight points, two triples, and no other stats in 17 minutes off the bench.
Novak's value is seriously threatened by the sudden log-jam of players on the wings in New York, but it's worth pointing out that he has held late-round value over the past two weeks and has great chemistry with Jeremy Lin and most of his teammates. If you need threes, you could do worse.

Sun Feb 19 201216:21Steve Novak catches fire late against Mavs
Steve Novak, who was scoreless during the first three quarters, caught fire in the fourth quarter on Sunday, knocking down four three-pointers on his way to 14 points as the Knicks downed the Mavericks.
Between knocking down treys and mimicking Aaron Rodgers 'Discount Double Check' celebration, Novak provided some fun for everyone on Sunday. He is playing too well right now not to see some minutes in coach Mike D'Antoni's rotation, but with Carmelo Anthony (groin) set to return, the minutes likely won't be high enough to sustain any fantasy value.

Thu Feb 16 201201:54Novak hits three triples in blowout win
Steve Novak hit three 3-point shots in Wednesday's blowout win, scoring 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 27 minutes.
Novak is hot right now and as long as Carmelo Anthony (groin) is not on the floor, he as a shot a providing spot-value for those seeking threes. Bill Walker hit two threes for 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting and a nearly identical line, otherwise, and he sits in the same boat as Novak.

Sat Feb 11 201222:34Steve Novak continues to hit from downtown
Steve Novak scored 15 points, grabbed six rebounds and made four more 3-pointers in Saturday's win vs. the Timberwolves.
Novak has been a sneaky but vital element of the Knicks' current five-game win streak. He's made 16 threes in the past four games, but his run could end abruptly when Carmelo Anthony returns.

Wed Feb 8 201223:59Steve Novak stays hot in win over Wizards
Steve Novak hit five more 3-pointers and 6-of-10 shots for 17 points and four rebounds in Wednesday's win over the Wizards.
Novak is simply on fire, hitting 13-of-20 shots and 10-of-16 3-pointers over his last two games. With Carmelo Anthony likely out for at least another week, Novak looks like a nice add if you need 3-pointers, although there's no way he'll stay this hot.

Tue Feb 7 201202:48Novak scores season-high 19 points
Steve Novak scored a season-high 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting (including five threes) with two rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench on Monday.
If Carmelo Anthony (groin) misses time, then Novak will be worth a short-term look as he competes with Bill Walker (11 points, three triples, 30 minutes) to be Anthony's beneficiary. If Anthony's injury proves to be serious, it's hard to imagine Novak overcoming Walker in the position battle.

Wed Dec 21 201118:42Knicks claim Novak off waivers
The Knicks have officially claimed F Steve Novak off waivers.
Mike D'Antoni has to be happy to have a three-point shooter of Novak's ability at his disposal, but there's virtually no chance the veteran will end up with fantasy value, even in deeper leagues.

Mon Dec 19 201122:30Knicks to sign 3-point specialist Novak
The Knicks plan to sign 3-point specialist F Steve Novak to a one-year deal.
Released earlier on Monday, Novak was scooped up quickly by a Knicks squad that could use his corner 3-point shooting. While the fit is good, we still can't get behind burning a draft pick on Novak in standard sized leagues, even for owners trolling for threes.

Mon Dec 19 201121:20Spurs waive forward Steve Novak
The Spurs waived forward Steve Novak on Monday.
The 3-point shooting specialist has a shot at sticking elsewhere, but he should not be looked toward for value in fantasy drafts.

Mon Aug 8 201113:41Steve Novak likely to play in Spain or Russia
Steve Novak is likely to accept an offer from an international club in either Spain or Russia.
Novak finished last season with the Spurs. The sharpshooter has bounced around quite a bit in his NBA career since being drafted in the second round by the Rockets in 2006 out of Marquette. Needless to say, he should play a more prominent role for whatever international team he manages to latch onto.

Tue Mar 22 201103:39Novak gets more garbage time buckets
Steve Novak followed up his 19-point effort from Saturday with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting (including three treys) with five rebounds in 18 minutes on Monday.
The game tonight wasn't quite a blowout like the Saturday game, but we're still not biting on this. He could get hot and stick a few threes every once in a while, but the probability of him continuing this streak is very low given his history.

Sun Mar 20 201102:53Novak drills five threes in blowout win
Steve Novak got some playing time in the Spurs' blowout win over the Bobcats on Saturday, and hit five 3-point buckets on his way to 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting with four rebounds and a block in 18 minutes off the bench.
He'll do this once or twice per month, and only because the Spurs play in garbage time so much. He's untenable from a fantasy perspective.

Sharpshooter Steve Novak scored nine points off of three 3-pointers off the bench for the Spurs in Sunday's loss.
The game was completely out of hand and Novak got to see some garbage minutes. Don't expect to see this on a regular basis.

Tue Feb 22 201113:21Novak gets another 10-day
Spurs signed G Steve Novak to a second 10-day contract.
Novak got some burn while the Spurs were resting their starters last week, but he won't be a realistic part of the rotation. Novak has already played for four teams since being drafted in 2006.

Mon Feb 7 201115:40Spurs sign Steve Novak
The Spurs have signed forward Steve Novak out of the D-League.
Novak is a 41% career shooter from downtown, but that's the extent of his value and he won't have lasting fantasy value in San Antonio.

Wed Jan 5 201111:53Mavs waive Novak
Mavericks waived G/F Steve Novak.
Novak will get another chance in the league because he is a pure shooter. But it won't come on a deep Dallas team.
