Tue Jan 29 201308:58Woodson wants Novak to get back on track
Mike Woodson wants to get Steve Novak "back to where he's supposed to be."
Novak has made one 3-pointer over his last four games. He signed a four-year, $15 million contract in the offseason but hasn't made the impact that he did last year. For the season, Novak is averaging 7.0 points and 2.0 3-pointers on 41.5 percent shooting, but he's hitting 44.3 percent of his shots from distance.

Thu Jan 3 201322:19Steve Novak hits five triples for 15 points
Steve Novak made five 3-pointers in 22 minutes for 15 points in Thursday's win over the Spurs.
He has been hot on Thursdays and has made 13 triples in his last three Thursday games. Novak also tied a season-high two steals in this game, but he's really just a one-trick pony, making over two 3-pointers per game and not much else. He can be viewed as a specialist in some formats.

Fri Dec 21 201208:07Steve Novak set to return on Friday night
Steve Novak (flu-like symptoms) is expected to play on Friday.
Novak missed Wednesday's game with the illness, and although there were conflicting reports about whether or not he practiced Thursday, it sounds like he's a full-go for Friday. If you own him for his 3-point prowess, get him back in the lineup.

Thu Dec 20 201215:48Update: Novak misses practice Thursday
Though an earlier report indicated that Steve Novak (flu) practiced on Thursday, ESPN New York reports that Novak missed practice.
Furthermore, Mike Woodson is uncertain if Novak will be able to play on Friday. When healthy, Novak is more valuable to the Knicks than he is to fantasy owners. The 3-point specialist is averaging 8.3 points and 2.3 treys per game.

Wed Dec 19 201217:40Steve Novak won't play Wednesday vs. Nets
Steve Novak (flu-like symptoms) will not play against the Nets on Wednesday.
Novak's absence comes at an unfortunate time with the rival Nets visiting MSG and the Knicks dealing with multiple injuries. Expect to see a lot more of J.R. Smith off the bench, with Ronnie Brewer and Chris Copeland also getting a bump in minutes.

Wed Dec 19 201210:23Steve Novak questionable w/ flu-like symptoms
Steve Novak is questionable on Wednesday due to flu-like symptoms.
If Novak is unable to suit up against the Nets, it will likely mean more of J.R. Smith off the bench, with Ronnie Brewer and Chris Copeland also seeing a bump in minutes. Novak played 33 minutes in his last one with Rasheed Wallace (foot) out, and since 'Sheed is out again on Wednesday, Mike Woodson will have to get a little creative if Novak sits.

Tue Dec 11 201223:00Steve Novak fails to score for Knicks
Steve Novak missed his only shot in Tuesday's win and failed to score for just the second time this season.
His last goose egg came back on Nov. 5, but he has now scored seven or less in his last three games. He's still an excellent option for 3-pointers, but won't contribute in other categories consistently enough to be a reliable fantasy player in most leagues.

Thu Dec 6 201223:36Steve Novak scores 18 points off the bench
Steve Novak helped propel the Knicks to a 112-92 win over the Heat on Thursday with 18 points, three rebounds and four 3-pointers in 34 minutes.
Novak is hot from deep by making 3.8 triples per game in his last five games. He's also playing 32.4 minutes per game and adding 1.0 steals over that span. He's certainly worth a look for owners looking to bolster their 3-point shooting.

Steve Novak scored 12 points adding two rebounds, two steals and four 3-pointers in 32 minutes as the Knicks beat the Suns 106-99 on Sunday.
Novak has racked up 3.3 triples per game over his last six contests. He is in line for more minutes with Jason Kidd on the mend and should be one of the best 3-point specialists over the next couple weeks and perhaps longer.

Steve Novak hit three 3-point shots on Friday, scoring nine points on 3-of-6 shooting with five rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes off the bench.
We've mentioned in a few places that it could be time to ride Novak's shooting regression while he's hot, so if you need 3-pointers give him a look.

Fri Nov 30 201208:33Report: Novak could start over Thomas
Steve Novak could start over Kurt Thomas on Friday against the Wizards, according to the New York Post.
Thomas has started each of the last two games, but he's played under 10 minutes in each of those contests. With Novak coming off of a game where he hit five triples, it should be interesting to see how Mike Woodson tinkers with his starting five.

Thu Nov 29 201201:20Novak scores season-high 19 points w/ 5 treys
Steve Novak caught fire on Wednesday, hitting 7-of-10 shots and five 3-pointers on his way to a season-high 19 points, four rebounds and two steals in a win over the Bucks.
Novak has hit double figures in scoring just three times this season, but two of those have come in his last three games. Mr. Discount Doublecheck has hit 30 3-pointers on the season, which is the only reason you should own him, but if this is the start of a hot streak, he'll be worth a close look going forward.

Tue Nov 27 201201:26Novak goes quiet again in Monday's loss
Steve Novak followed up his 18-point effort from the weekend with just two points on Monday.
Novak hit 1-of-3 shots and played just 18 minutes. It appeared like he might have a window of opportunity with Carmelo Anthony shifting to power forward this season, but it just hasn't happened for the sharpshooter this season.

Sun Nov 25 201216:50Steve Novak hits five 3-pointers on Sunday
Steve Novak shot 5-of-7 from beyond the arc for 18 points to go with two rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.
The Pistons weren't exactly wise to leave Novak open on so many looks and he made them pay. He's really a one-trick pony with his range, but it's a pretty neat trick.

Sat Nov 10 201203:19Steve Novak scores just five points in win
Steve Novak hit just one 3-pointer and finished with five points in 16 minutes in Friday's win over the Mavericks.
He's had some big games in the early season, but is a one-trick pony. If you're desperate for 3-pointers, give Novak a look, but expect enough bad nights to go along with the good ones to let someone else own him this year.

Sat Nov 3 201205:11Steve Novak hits five threes in Knicks win
Steve Novak hit five 3-point shots in the Knicks' win on Friday, scoring 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting overall with two rebounds and one assist.
Novak was ranked just outside of the Bruski 150 for his ability to hit an elite number of threes and also because the Knicks will likely go small with Amare Stoudemire out. He should be owned in most 12-team leagues after tonight's result.

Sat Oct 20 201222:22Steve Novak makes 5-of-9 threes in NYK loss
Steve Novak made 5-of-9 shots off the Knicks bench on Saturday, with all of his attempts coming from 3-point territory.
Novak shot 47.2 percent from downtown last year and his accuracy is no fluke, so don't hesitate to target him if you need a 3-point specialist at the end of your draft.
