Favors missed the opening exhibition with a minor groin issue, so it appears he's back to full health, playing 26 minutes in a meaningless preseason game. Once Enes Kanter was traded last year, Favors became a much better offensive player and that trend should continue going into this season. Center Rudy Gobert will take some rebounds away, but will open up more possessions for Favors, considering no plays are drawn up for the athletic Gobert.

Favors (sore groin) will not play Tuesday against the Lakers, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.

It's certainly an interesting declaration from Favors as he enters his sixth NBA season. Per Basketball-Reference, more than 65 percent of his field goal attempts came from within 10 feet in 2014-15, and more than 85 percent of his attempts fell within 16 feet. Favors has only attempted 12 career three-pointers, so at this phase in his development, he'll have quite a bit to prove before opposing defenses begin blanketing him on the perimeter. Favors shot 40.1 percent from 10-16 feet and 34.1 percent from 16-22 feet last season, per Basketball-Reference.

Favors spent 30.8 minutes on the court over 74 games this season. He averaged 16.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.7 blocks over the course of his fifth year in the league.

Favors was a reliable fixture in Utah's rotation yet again this season. His 16 points per game tallied a new career-high and he'll head into next season with a similar role alongside Rudy Gobert in the frontcourt. There's nothing to suggest that Favors will take a bigger leap forward during the 2015-16 season, but that said, there's no reason to believe he'll drop off in production either. Unless Utah makes surprising changes to their frontcourt in the offseason, the pride of Georgia Tech will be a viable option in the fourth and fifth rounds of standard league drafts.

Favors will play in Wednesday's season finale against the Rockets.

After resting Saturday and Monday, Favors will return for the final game of the season, although the Jazz have nothing tangible to play for. Coach Quin Snyder has not stated whether Favors or any other regulars will be on a minutes restriction.

Favors really struggled to score Friday, but owners shouldn't be worried moving forward. He was able to contribute 10 rebounds in the loss, so he still provided some sort of fantasy value.

Favors returned to the starting line-up and scored 19 points (9-16 FG, 1-2 FT) with seven rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 25 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Nuggets.

Favors missed the previous two games with a back injury and was a game time decision, so owners will be thrilled with this line. He is known to miss a game here or there, but when he plays is a strong play for points, rebounds and blocks.
