Tue Aug 2 202216:06Brandon Marsh Heads To The Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies acquired outfielder Brandon Marsh from the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday, according to sources. It's currently unknown what the Phillies sent to the Angels in return. Marsh was once a top prospect coming through the farm system for the Angels, but he's struggled to the tune of a .239/.299/.354 slash line with 10 home runs, 56 RBI, 61 runs scored and 14 stolen bases in two seasons in the big leagues in 163 games played. This year, he's gone 66-for-292 (.226) with eight homers, 37 RBI, 34 runs scored and eight stolen bases and a 36.2% strikeout rate in 93 games. The 24-year-old is a buy-low MLB player for the Phillies, and he should at least see the strong side of a platoon in center field in Philadelphia.

Thu Jun 2 202211:34Brandon Marsh, Tyler Wade Out In Game 1
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh and third baseman Tyler Wade are both out of the starting lineup in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the New York Yankees on Thursday. Both left-handed hitters will get a game to rest with Yankees left-hander Nestor Cortes on the mound. Marsh is hitting .276/.329/.393 with four homers, 26 RBI, 18 runs scored and three stolen bases in 43 games this year, while Wade hasn't been as good, slashing .229/.288/.302 with one homer, seven RBI, 14 runs and five steals in 41 games. Juan Lagares is starting in left field and is hitting eighth, while Matt Duffy gets the start at third base and is batting cleanup against the Yanks. Duffy is obviously the more attractive DFS play. He doesn't have much power at all, but he has gone 19-for-65 (.292) in 24 games this year.

Tue Apr 26 202208:04Brandon Marsh Says He Will Return On Tuesday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh (illness) has missed the last two games due to a stomach bug. However on Monday night, he stated that he would be good to play in Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. The Angels will have all four of their primary outfielders healthy for Tuesday, so it'll be interesting to see how they line up against right-hander Triston McKenzie. Jo Adell may find himself on the short side of a platoon with Marsh, despite the fact that Adell is on a six-game hitting streak.

Tue Apr 12 202201:06Brandon Marsh Stays Hot, Plates Four Monday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh continued his hot start to the season in Monday's 6-2 win over the Marlins, going 2-for-3 with a double, a three-run home run, four RBI, and a walk. Marsh got things going for the Angels, smashing a first-inning Elieser Hernandez fastball into the center-field shrubs to take a 3-0 lead. The 24-year-old has gotten off to an encouraging start at the plate, slashing .400/.571/.800 through 14 plate appearances. It is very early in the season, but Marsh is currently rostered in just five percent of leagues. He is worth keeping an eye on in deeper five-outfielder leagues at this time in case he continues to hit.

Sun Apr 3 202223:48Jo Adell, Brandon Marsh To Be On Opening Day Roster
Los Angeles Angels outfielders Jo Adell and Brandon Marsh will start in the outfield on Opening Day for the Angels, according to manager Joe Maddon via the OC Register. The young outfielders will flank Mike Trout in the first Opening Day start for both Adell and Marsh. Adell has struggled in parts of two Major League seasons, but Maddon said Adell's Cactus League performance proves the 22-year-old is ready for a starting role. Marsh was forced into action last season with Trout on the injured list, and will look to improve on the .254 batting average he posted as a rookie.

Fri Oct 1 202110:35Brandon Marsh Picks Up Two Hits, Steals A Base Thursday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh did his part in Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Texas Rangers, singling twice in five at-bats, scoring a run, and stealing second in the fourth inning. It was his sixth stolen base of the season over 67 games. With the two hits, Marsh is now batting .320 in his last seven contests. Overall, he's slashing .260/.321/.361 with two home runs and a 35.2 K%. He's had an inconsistent rookie season, posting a .805 OPS in August, sandwiched between a .529 and .623 OPS in July and September, respectively. He doesn't have much value at this point, providing no power and not enough batting average. He's more of a dynasty league option given his potential as a speedy, power-hitting threat.

Tue Sep 21 202119:52Brandon Marsh Absent From Tuesday's Lineup
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Jose Urquidy and the Houston Astros. Juan Lagares is getting the start in center field for the game while David Fletcher is leading off. Marsh has struggled so far in September, slashing .213/.250/.328 with one home run, two doubles and just three runs scored despite leading off lately. The Angels offense is a shell of what it could have been right now due to all of the injuries. Even if Marsh remains in the leadoff spot, it might not amount to much fantasy value.

Thu Sep 16 202114:03Brandon Marsh Hitting Leadoff On Thursday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh is batting leadoff against the Chicago White Sox and right-hander Reynaldo Lopez on Thursday. It'll be a tough matchup with Lopez on the mound, but Marsh is hitting .333 with a .362 on-base percentage, two home runs, and a stolen base in his last 69 plate appearances dating back to August 24. If this becomes a regular occurrence and Marsh hits leadoff on a daily basis, it'll only boost his fantasy value and upside down the stretch as hitting leadoff for the Angels generally means hitting in front of Shohei Ohtani.

Thu Sep 16 202110:48Brandon Marsh Has Three-Hit Game Wednesday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh collected three hits during Wednesday's 3-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox. He singled twice and hit a solo home run in the eighth inning that was ultimately the winning run. Marsh had been scuffling in September, slashing .194/.237/.278 over 11 games prior to Wednesday night. He's now hitting .267 with two home runs, four stolen bases, and a .328 OBP across 54 games this season. He isn't much of a factor in fantasy right now, but if he gets hot again as he did earlier in the year, he can be worth the waiver wire pickup.

Thu Sep 9 202110:29Brandon Marsh Triples In Loss
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh tripled and scored a run in four at-bats during Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the San Diego Padres. It was Marsh's third triple of the season in just 49 games. He's slashed .253/.314/.367 with one home run and three stolen bases thus far. Marsh has been struggling over his last nine games, hitting just .138 with a .379 OPS, and has struck out 41.4% of the time. As of now, he's just a streaming option when he's hot, but fantasy managers should notice his recent play and look for another outfield option at the moment.

Tue Aug 31 202110:48Brandon Marsh Singles, Scores Monday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh went 1-for-4 during Monday's 8-7 win over the New York Yankees, singling and scoring a run. He is now hitting .419 with a .597 slugging over his last 17 games. It's been a completely different story after starting his career with a .471 OPS in his first 22 games. He is now slashing .278/.347/.391 with three stolen bases and one home run this season. The power isn't there yet, but his recent numbers make Marsh a good addition in most leagues, providing average, OBP, and stolen bases.

Thu Aug 26 202110:17Brandon Marsh Clobbers First Career Home Run
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh hit his first career home run on Wednesday during their 10-6 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. He added two singles, five RBI, and a run scored as well. Marsh has been on a tear recently, slashing .429/.462/.633 across his last 13 games. The hot streak has bumped up his average to .267, and he's now slugging .383. Fantasy managers looking for an outfielder can pick up Marsh for the time being until he starts to slow down. He can be a player to stash in dynasty formats, projecting to be like a high average hitter that can steal some bases and provide above-average power.

Sun Aug 22 202108:22Brandon Marsh Doubles In Saturday's Loss
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh was 1-for-3 with a double during Friday's 5-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians. He struck out twice as well. Marsh got off to a horrible start in his rookie season, with a .471 OPS in his first 22 games, but he's picked up the pace since, slashing .378/.410/.568 during his last 10 games. Overall, he's hitting .231 with no home runs and three stolen bases. Marsh was mostly a high average, good OBP player in the minors, posting a slash line of .288/.371/.440. His power will take time to blossom, but he can be streamed during his current hot streak by fantasy managers needing some outfield help.

Thu Aug 12 202113:59Brandon Marsh Stays Quiet
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh continued his disastrous rookie season on Wednesday, striking out four times in four at-bats against the Toronto Blue Jays. He now has a 39.5 K% during 24 games this year. To go along with that, Marsh is slashing .155/.259/.211 with no home runs and two stolen bases. There is no reason for Marsh to be kept in redraft leagues, as he's shown no signs of being able to hit big-league pitching. He has relevance in dynasty leagues, but he should be dropped in every other format in favor of another outfielder.

Tue Aug 3 202123:53Brandon Marsh Collects Double In Tuesday's Win
Los Angeles Angels center fielder Brandon Marsh went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a run scored in Tuesday's 11-3 rout of the Texas Rangers. It was a rare positive for Marsh in an underwhelming rookie season. He's hitting .167 with a .229 slugging, no home runs, two RBI, four runs, and one stolen base in 15 games. He swung the bat much better in Triple-A this season, slashing .255/.364/.468 with three home runs across 24 games. Marsh doesn't seem to be in danger of losing playing time with Adam Eaton and Justin Upton platooning. But with Mike Trout (calf) expected to be back at some point this year, he eventually may not have an everyday spot in the outfield if he can't improve. He has more relevance in dynasty formats, but fantasy managers who scooped him up in redraft leagues can wait and see if his offense comes around. However, he shouldn't be started and can safely be dropped if he begins to lose playing time.
