Wed Feb 26 201412:17Yankees to monitor Brewers' Rickie Weeks
George A. King III of the New York Post reports that the Yankees will monitor what the Brewers do with Rickie Weeks this spring.
Weeks is coming off a torn left hamstring and Scooter Gennett is the favorite for the starting second base job, so the Brewers will surely be willing to listen to offers. The 31-year-old is owed $11 million this year and has a $11.5 million vesting option for 2015.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke expects Rickie Weeks (hamstring) to be "full-go" when he reports to spring training this week.

Thu Dec 12 201310:27'Nothing to' Weeks-to-Marlins rumors
Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel was told by a source that there is "nothing to" rumors of Rickie Weeks being traded to the Marlins.
There were multiple reports late Wednesday night that the Marlins were looking into Weeks, but it's an odd fit since the club just signed Rafael Furcal to sign second base. The Brewers appear ready to give the starting second base job to Scooter Gennett, but it will be tough to move Weeks, who is owed $11 million next season and has a vesting option for 2015.

Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish is hearing the Marlins have some interest in Rickie Weeks.
Earlier this offseason Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Scooter Gennett is penciled in as the team's starting second baseman next season, so the 31-year-old Weeks looks to be on the outs. Weeks is due $11 million in 2014 and has a vesting option for 2015. There hasn't been much buzz that the team is shopping Weeks, but he could likely be had for the right offer.

Brewers placed 2B Rickie Weeks on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 8, with a strained left hamstring.
The results of Weeks' MRI aren't yet known, but the injury is obviously bad enough that he'll require at least a couple weeks of down time. Scooter Gennett has been summoned from Triple-A Nashville and should see the bulk of the playing time at second base while Weeks is out.

Thu Aug 8 201301:04Rickie Weeks injures leg, leaves game
Rickie Weeks injured his left hamstring running to first base in Wednesday's game and had to be helped off the field.
The Brewers are calling him day-to-day right now, but we have to believe a DL stint is in Weeks' future. The Brewers will probably bring Scooter Gennett back to the majors to start at second base in his place. Gennett is worth adding in NL-only leagues.

Wed Jul 10 201322:25Weeks goes 0-for-4 in a loss to the Reds

Wed Jun 26 201300:51Rickie Weeks homers twice in Brewers' 9-3 win
Rickie Weeks went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in the Brewers' 9-3 win over the Cubs on Tuesday.
Weeks has been heating up for, well, weeks, but he is now officially hot. After Tuesday's game, the second baseman owns a .429 average with an OPS over 1.200 in June. The overall numbers are still pedestrian, but when Weeks is going like he is now there are few better options at the keystone.

Wed Jun 19 201323:55Weeks hits go-ahead homer, Brewers top Astros
Rickie Weeks hit a game-winning two-run homer in the eighth inning as the Brewers beat the Astros 3-1 on Wednesday.
It was Weeks' first game hitting leadoff this year, and he responded by going 2-for-4 with the winning home run. The homer was his sixth of the season, and while he's taken a while to get going his average has been slowly rising since the middle of May. He's always a slow starter, so expect him to continue to get better as the season rolls on.

Back in the starting lineup against a right-hander, Rickie Weeks went 3-for-5 and homered off the Marlins' Ricky Nolasco on Monday.
The Brewers were foolish to start platooning Weeks just as his bat was warming up. That should be over with now, and it might not be long before Scooter Gennett returns to Triple-A.
