Gee (groin) allowed just three hits and no runs while striking out five over 6.1 innings Thursday for High-A St. Lucie, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
Gee threw 93 pitches and showed he is ready to return to the majors. His role when he does come back is still up in the air, as the Mets have to decide what to do with Noah Syndergaard and/or Jon Niese.

Gee (groin) will make his next rehab start Thursday with High-A St. Lucie, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
Gee's rehab start is likely unnecessary, but probably relates to the success of top prospect Noah Syndergaard in his first two major league starts. Regardless, he should be fine after his next rehab start, at which point the Mets will have a decision to make regarding his role with the club moving forward.

Manager Terry Collins said Sunday that Gee (groin) would make another rehab start, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
Perhaps more importantly, Collins was noncommittal when asked if Gee would have a rotation spot awaiting him upon his return from the disabled list, suggesting the Mets may be leaning toward sticking with top prospect Noah Syndergaard in their rotation. Gee, who tossed four innings and struck out seven batters at High-A St. Lucie on Saturday, is expected to throw 100 pitches in his next rehab outing, after which Collins should provide a clearer outline for the right-hander's return date and his eventual role with the Mets.

Gee (groin) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A St. Lucie on Saturday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
Gee just resumed throwing earlier in the week, but he is now ready to resume pitching in game action. It's not clear what Gee's next step will be, but he is eligible to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday.
Wed May 13 201518:16Gee (groin) resumed throwing Tuesday
Gee (groin) resumed throwing Tuesday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
An ESPN New York report from earlier Wednesday suggested Gee would start up with his throwing this weekend, but apparently he already cleared that initial hurdle. It's uncertain, however, when Gee may return to mound work, and his starting job could be in jeopardy if Noah Syndergaard fares well in the weeks ahead.
Wed May 13 201517:17Gee (groin) expected to resume throwing Saturday
Gee (groin) is expected to resume throwing Saturday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
The right-hander is set to start back up with his throwing program at the Mets' spring complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida, a week after receiving a pain-killing shot to treat his groin strain. Noah Syndergaard's performance in his next couple starts will dictate Gee's role upon his return.

Gee has a shot Saturday for his strained groin and will head down to Port St. Lucie shortly to start rehab, Kristie Ackert of the NY Daily News reports.
Gee is eligible to return from the disabled list on May 19, though it's unclear if he will be ready then. Noah Syndergaard has been promoted and will start in Gee's spot in the rotation while he is sidelined. If Syndergaard is pitching well, Gee could be hard-pressed to regain his spot.
Fri May 8 201518:59Dillon Gee: (Groin) Placed On 15-Day DL
Gee was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a mild groin strain Friday, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
Having last pitched May 3, Gee will be eligible to return from the disabled list May 19 against the Cardinals. Of course, even if he's ready by that time, there's no guaranteed Gee will still have a spot in the Mets' rotation. The team is calling up top prospect Noah Syndergaard for the corresponding transaction, with the 22-year-old scheduled to make his MLB debut Tuesday in Chicago. Syndergaard figures to get at least two starts, and if he pitches well, it will be hard for the Mets to justify sending him back down.

Gee may have his next start pushed back a few days because of a minor groin injury, ESPN's Adam Rubin reports.
Gee is scheduled to face the Phillies on Sunday, and while it doesn't sound as if he'll require a stint on the disabled list, he also seems unlikely to make his next start. The Mets have a bunch of different options, but they may just elect to reshuffle their current rotation, in which case Bartolo Colon would likely start Sunday's game. Noah Syndergaard pitched for Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday and thus isn't an option, but the Mets could call up Stephen Matz.

Gee pitched well in a no-decision Monday, allowing just one run in 7.2 innings.
Gee needed just 70 pitches to record his 23 outs. After a shaky start to the season, the righty will close out April with consecutive starts of at least seven innings and two or fewer runs. His next assignment will be the Nationals this weekend.

Gee gave up just two runs in seven innings Wednesday against Atlanta, but didn't receive a decision in the eventual win. He struck out three while allowing eight hits and a walk.
A solid outing for Gee, and just in time, as the Mets are planning to integrate Rafael Montero into the rotation next week, making it a six-man crew. Eventually, they're gonna go back to five, and Gee's the leading candidate to end up as the odd man out. However, he does have some streaming value while he's in the rotation, and fantasy owners could do worse than to deploy him in a rematch against the Marlins next week.

Gee racked up seven strikeouts over 5.2 innings Thursday against Miami, but gave up four runs on five hits and a pair of walks.
Gee hasn't shown a whole lot in his first two starts of the year, and if he doesn't get on track soon, New York sports talk radio will be buzzing with talk of promoting top pitching prospects Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz. He'll try for better results in a rematch with the Braves -- to whom he allowed five runs in his first start -- on Wednesday.

Gee pitched five innings in a losing effort against the Braves on Saturday.
Gee allowed eight hits and five earned runs while striking out two batters. He has a 9.00 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP.
Wed Apr 1 201509:59Gee has reportedly been named fifth starter
Gee has reportedly been named the fifth starter, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.
Gee, who was to open the year in the bullpen, received a reprieve when Zack Wheeler was lost for the year with a torn UCL. Despite a strong late-push from Rafael Montero, Gee was able to hold him off. But, rumors persist that Gee may get dealt early in the season, and with the team's pitching depth, his rotation spot is less than secure.

Gee had his best start of the spring, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three in seven innings.
Gee is still battling Rafael Montero for the fifth starter spot, but likely has a leg up on the spot due to Montero's ability to pitch out of the pen, which is not suited to Gee's strengths.

Gee will begin the season in the starting rotation according to manager Terry Collins, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
With Zack Wheeler suffering a torn UCL that will cost him the entire 2015 season, the fifth spot in the team's rotation became available. Gee was being viewed as a long reliever and possible trade candidate earlier in camp, but he'll spend the rest of the spring preparing as a starter. The 28-year-old posted a 4.00 ERA (4.52 FIP), 6.2 K/9, and 2.8 BB/9 in 22 starts last season.

Gee may return to the Mets' rotation with Zack Wheeler (torn UCL) lost for the season, but that is not yet set in stone.
Gee was bumped from the rotation as the sixth starter when the Mets were healthy. The loss of Wheeler creates a huge hole that Gee might fill. However, GM Sandy Alderson did not state at his press conference Monday that Gee is a lock to replace Wheeler, so Rafael Montero, Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz all may be in the mix. Gee is making $5.3 million and is ill-suited to the pen while Syndergaard and Matz both could remain in the minors a few weeks, giving the Mets another year of control, which gives Gee a lead in the competition to replace Wheeler,

Gee is not currently viewed by Toronto as a candidate to acquire to fill the open rotation spot created by the loss of Marcus Stroman (torn ACL) for the year, Joel Sherman of the NY Post reports.
Toronto's view may change late in the spring. But for now. Gee looks locked into a bullpen spot with the Mets.

Gee threw 2.2 innings of one-hit, scoreless relief in his first bullpen outing of the spring Saturday.
Gee is transitioning from starting to relieving with six starters in camp for the Mets. With Yu Darvish possibly lost for the year, the Rangers may rekindle their interest in Gee. But for now, Gee is stuck in the Mets' bullpen.
Wed Mar 4 201522:22Gee started Mets' spring training opener
Gee started the Mets' spring training opener, allowing two runs in two innings, and is expected to shift to relieving in about two weeks, ESPN New York reports.
Gee will get starter innings this spring but work on transitioning to the bullpen, where he is expected to start the season, barring a trade or injury.
